Chasing After My Wife Chapter 338

Jillyanna just looked at him as if she didn't do anything but Travis shielded her from Brown's angry stares.
"Evan! I'm glad you are doing fine. I was really worried that Matthew won't keep his words. I am even prepare to skin him alive." Dr. Anderson chattered cheerfully and came to Brown's side. "You look well and good."
Thomas who knew about their arrival couldn't help but shake his head. 'He never changed.' That's what he thought as he look towards Dr. Anderson who was happy to see his son-in-law instead of his own son.
"Cough..cough.." Thomas coughed awkwardly to get their attention. Dr. Anderson looked at him, upset and resentful. "You can catch up with your sons later. Have you guys eaten? Why don't you join us?"
"Great! I'd love to." He turned towards Valkyrie and ordered him. "Go get me some plates, spoon and fork, as well as a glass of water."
"And why should I do that?" Valkyrie retorted, clearly unwilling to do what was asked.
"Because I am your father."
"So you are finally acknowledging me as your son?!"
"Nope. I'm just saying I'm your father."
"Then that's why I'm your son."
"Whatever. Go away and get me the utensils." Dr. Anderson didn't give his son a chance to refuse at all.
When Valkyrie stood up and left, Dr. Anderson immediately moved Valkyrie's plates to the side and sat beside Brown.
Jillyanna couldn't help but whisper. "Dr. Anderson resembles much of a father to you." She told Travis which of course reached Thomas. "He looks rather shameless like you and Dad isn't even shameless as you. Haha"
Instead of getting upset, Thomas smiled helpless at her comment.
"Who said my father isn't shameless? He is shameless towards my mother just like how shameless I am towards you." Travis whispered back to her and took the chance to bit his earlobe.

Calhoun who was watching on the side couldn't help but think, 'Am I the only normal person here?'
Usually, when they get together, they will prepare their foods instead of the helpers. Just like this breakfast, Savannah and Hawk was preparing them when Valkyrie arrived, he lent them a hand to make it quicker.
It would be better to eat the food that the people close to you cook. Why? Because it's full of love.
Valkyrie gave Calhoun a set of utensils as well as his father who now took his place beside Brown.
"I didn't get the chance to speak to you last time because he threw me out of the house. Whenever I call, he'd turn off his cellphone. Do you know how worried I am?" Dr. Anderson blabbered his mouth beside Brown. "If something happens to you, I would really kick him and remove him from the family register."
'Is Matthew your son or is it Evan?' Everyone wanted to ask the question that Matthew had been keeping this whole time. It felt like he was the adopted and Evan was the legitimate son.
It doesn't matter to him though. What's important to him was that his father cares and accepted Brown and their relationship.
Brown didn't know what to do. Since acknowledging his relationship with Valkyrie, this was the first that he's speaking to Dr. Anderson.
He looked towards Jillyanna again who clearly know about this and purposely asked him to come over.
"Why are you looking at me again? I didn't do anything." Jillyanna automatically defended herself.
"Really?" Brown inquired with a creepy smile, like he was going to take her soul if ever she's caught lying.
Travis cleared his throat and saved his wife. "I forgot to tell everyone that Dr. Anderson and Major General Calhoun would be coming over. I thought it didn't matter since you aren't the patients they're visiting."

Brown knew that Travis was covering for his wife but he couldn't do anything about it anymore. It happened already so he might as well face it.
"I'm sorry for causing you troubles father. We were so busy these past few days and Valkyrie had to leave for Pantar." Brown apologized softly but he didn't expect that Dr. Anderson would take it the wrong way.
"Valkyrie left you and went to Pantar?! When?! Why?!" Even though he knew why, he still pretended to be angry to his own son.
"Ha? Ahh ehh? No Dad. He went there because I told him to accompany Winter and take back Gabriel. He didn't really leave me." Brown explained profusely to help Valkyrie. He knew that if he won't talk it out, Valkyrie would be so dead of his father.
"That's enough already. Don't scare him." Calhoun told Dr. Anderson after a while of teasing Brown.
To Brown's relief, Dr. Anderson did stop and looked towards Winter who didn't say anything. "Sigh. It's indeed true. No matter how much I make a fuss, she didn't even look at this way." Dr. Anderson spoke sadly.
All this while, he was intentionally making loud noises but Winter just looked at him once with blank expression. She really couldn't hear them.
After he made a fuss, they continued to eat their breakfast which for the first time took an hour before they slowly stood up and left the dining table one by one.
"What should we do for our date?" Travis asked Jillyanna who was walking beside him.
"Secret. I'll plan it to surprise you." Jillyanna smiled at him while holding his hand.
"You were really enjoying your breakfast." Brown commented who was walking behind him. The scowl on his face couldn't be hidden at all.
"Of course. It's been a long time since I last ate a pork cutlet." Jillyanna responded happily.
Brown couldn't do anything but sigh. "You really are a perfect match."
"Of course. I wouldn't deny that." Jillyanna didn't bother hiding her happiness at all. She was really having fun watching Brown getting all flustered earlier. "Dr. Anderson really cares for you. No need to worry about your relationship with Valkyrie."
"Tsk! I don't need you to tell me that." Brown was still sulking when he left. When Valkyrie passed by them, he gave a thumbs up to Jillyanna.

Small Chests Are Fine Too
It is an undeniable fact that good things come in small packages. More often than not, it is necessary to trim the fat in order to bring what really matters to the forefront. Having extra bulk may seem like a good idea, but in reality it is merely a crutch that will one day become a hindrance, as it is no substitute for personality nor ability. Indeed, often times it is the small things in life that brighten up our daily lives and constantly remind us exactly why we do the things we do. However, it is important to keep an open mind, for while bigger is not always better, there are also times when it is. This holds especially true when it comes to hopes and dreams, which have been known to require a suitably large container from time to time. And while dreaming big could potentially lead to massive dissapointment, one will never truly reach fulfilment if they think too small. A truth that one small woman with meager aspirations is about to find out. DISCLAIMER: This is a spin-off/side story of my main series, Everybody Loves Large Chests, which is also mandatory reading to understand this one. It runs parallel to the main plot, branching off from the chapter titled Upheaval 2, so there will be spoilers for anyone who hasn't reached that point.
