Chasing After My Wife Chapter 424

Jackie's eyes darkened after getting the news. Jillyanna had been lenient to them and yet, they wanted to harm her again. 'Wasn't it enough that she lost both her parents?' she thought about it and she felt pain for her sister. "Got it." She replied to Vincent and walked towards Jillyanna. "Sis, we didn't plan a huge surprise for you but I am happy that you like it."
"I am more than happy to receive these blessings and wishes. Thank you." Jillyanna responded, her smile was blooming like the roses in their garden and it was contagious. Everyone smiled to her in return.
"We talked and teased her for a long time. It is almost midnight and Jillyanna needs to take a rest." Savannah spoke out of the blue.
"Alright. Let's end this bridal shower here. We need to get some rest." Winter agreed.
Altogether, they helped clean the room but the balloons and other designs were brought down to the living room and added life to their Christmas decoration. Jackie didn't tell Jillyanna about what happened in the jail yet. She didn't want to ruin the happy atmosphere.
It was past one in the morning when everyone finally settled down and went back to their respected homes. Jillyanna was snuggled up close to Travis, still smiling foolishly from the whole event.
"Their painstaking effort was well-paid with your happiness and smiles." Travis commented while kissing the top of her head.
"I am thankful that I get so many people who cares for me." She mumbled in a sleepy yawn. "It's been a while since we last sleep on this bed."
"Hn. Sleeping beside you here is the most comfortable thing in the whole world. No, doing anything with you always comforts me."

Jillyanna raised her head and looked at him in the eyes. The room was dimly lit but she can see his face clearly. "None of this happiness will come if not because of you. I won't get a bridal shower if not because of you and I don't think I'll get a baby shower if not because of you. All this happiness is because I met you."
She was speaking to him seriously when Travis covered her mouth with his. She didn't know what it was for but she returned his kiss eagerly. He slipped his tongue inside and stroke every corner of her mouth. It tickled her and sent shivers down to her toes but it was really comforting and good.
Travis stopped kissing her when he felt the light tap on his waist which means to say that Jillyanna was running out of breath. "I didn't say anything that warrants a kiss."
Travis chuckled and placed a quick kiss on the tip of her nose. "I don't need reasons to kiss you, do I?"
"No. You will just be shameless whenever you like."
His faint laughter rang again and Jillyanna's heart strings were plucked, sending warmth all over her body. She hugged him even closer and leaned the side of her face on his chest.
"Let's sleep. Good night my shameless wolf King."
"Good night my adorable Queen."
No strenuous activity was allowed for the time being thus; they rested the night away, snuggling close to each other.
Sunday morning, after that event, Jillyanna and Travis going back to the hospital again. Jackie and Riley woke up early to help Auntie Fei cook their breakfast. Jenny was out in the front yard, taking care of the plants with Auntie Sisi while the sun wasn't that hot yet.

"Riley, do you have time tonight?" Jackie asked her twin while slicing the tomatoes.
"I am free all day and all night. Why?"
"We are going on to a little trip." When Jackie said this, Riley knew that it wasn't going to be a peaceful night. She didn't know about the news yet and Jackie wasn't planning to tell her either or anyone else.
Jillyanna and Travis were just right in time for the twin to finish cooking their meals. They set the table immediately so that they can have breakfast before they go back to the hospital.
Jenny came inside to join them for breakfast while Auntie Sisi went to the second floor to call Valkyrie and Brown. Savannah and Hawk went back to the hacienda after the event.
As they ate their breakfast, Jillyanna noticed the silent Jackie. "Jackie, is something bothering you?"
"Diamond hearted Jackie will be bothered, too? Is it a man? Is it Vincent?" Valkyrie started teasing her again but she only rolled her eyes and sneered at him.
"Nothing bothers me. I was just thinking about the plans for Christmas." She lied with a straight face but Jillyanna knew. Riley didn't say anything and just continued to eat her food.
"Whatever it is you're thinking, don't do it." Jillyanna uttered, leaving everyone confused, except Riley and Travis.
"You knew?" Jackie inquired hesitantly.
"Hn. Vincent told Travis about it and my husband informed me earlier."
Jackie sighed and just nodded her head but she wasn't going to follow Jillyanna this time. She will make sure to eliminate any obstacle that would block Jillyanna in her life. Eliminate by means of killing them. 'They didn't deserve to live in the first place. What I'm going to do is to serve justice to those people who fell victim in their hands, experimented and tortured without an ounce of pity.'
She already made her resolve and she won't change her mind, unless Jillyanna would kill her. To Jackie, the first life was given by their parents and was taken away when they died, leaving her and her twin vulnerable and become an easy target for inhumane acts. The second life was given by Jillyanna when she found them in the slums; and she won't let anyone take it from her. She will not let anyone take Jillyanna away from them.
"I'm full. I'm going back to my room first. Excuse me." She wiped her face with the table napkin and stood up from her seat, leaving them without turning back.
"This is bad." Travis mumbled beside his wife.

Author's Note: (This is my first story, and I would be very thankful if grammatical errors were pointed out. I could also take a few suggestions in the comments if you would. This is less a planned production, and more a little project that I'm winging as it goes. I will try and be consistent with at least 2 chapters a week. Also, as I am a completely new author, the number of words per chapter may fluctuate. The minimum will be around 1000 words, while other chapters may be 2000-3000. It will hopefully only get better with time.)
