Chasing After My Wife Chapter 435

Riley and Sky was showing Jade her room and her other things. They helped her arrange her small personal belongings from the orphanage while they're at it.
"Am I really staying in this room? No one will come to share this room with me?" Jade asked to make sure that she wasn't overstepping her boundaries. She was a very cautious child.
"This is your room. We all have our own room here. Will you be okay? Are you afraid if you are alone?" Riley asked because she was also afraid on the first night that Jillyanna had them slept in separate rooms. In the end, she had to slipped to Jackie's room sometimes in the middle of the night. Sometimes, she would sneak inside Shein's room and sleep with him. "Do you want me to stay with you tonight?"
"Can't I stay with my mother?" Jade asked since Jillyanna was the one who adopted her.
"Do you know that your mother has an illness? She will be going to the hospital again and she will stay there for quite some time." Sky spoke to her softly. She put her hands under her armpit and pulled her up to let her sit on the bed. "Your mother is pregnant and will give birth to a baby boy. That is why she needed to stay in the hospital."
"Will she be okay? My mother died when she was giving birth to my little sister. My little sister died after few minutes, too. In the end, I was left alone." Jade told them the things that she could still remember clearly."
"Where's your father?" Riley asked since she never heard the little kid talk about her father.
Jade shook her head from side to side. "I don't know who is my father."
Sky hugged the little girl and kissed her head. "That is fine. Your mother will not die. She is a very strong person and she will give you a baby brother soon."

Riley checked the time and found that it was almost lunch time already. "Auntie Sky, can you play with Jade for a while. I will go downstairs and help Savannah in the kitchen."
"Sure. That is not a problem."
Riley immediately went out of the room to go to the kitchen. Whereas, Sky pulled out a picture book and read it to Jade to pass the time.
Not long after, Shein and Jackie came home from sending the invitation. An idea popped inside Riley's head and her gaze was full of mischief. She took Jackie's hand and dragged her upstairs to her room. "Do you still have our matching shirt?"
"I do. Why?" Jackie was very confused at her twin's actions and she hadn't seen the little child that Jillyanna brought as well. She even made sure to finish her task as early as possible to see the little kid but, here she was being dragged around by her twin.
"Let's wear it now." Riley pulled her own shirt and changed into it as well as changed into a dark blue jean. "Let's go to your room so you can change."
"Are you going to prank the child?" Jackie asked when she finally realized what her twin was up to.
"Just a little. Come on." She dragged her sister out of her room and they walked inside to Jackie's. When the both of them came out, they were wearing the same white printed shirt, dark blue jeans, a high ponytail and the same hair clips. Riley borrowed some clips from her twin.
Not many can identify the twin from the other. They can count the number of people who can identify them with their fingers and now, they wanted to see if the child can identify them or not.
The two of them went back to the kitchen and found the other guests looking at them. "What are you guys up to again?" Brown asked them with his narrowed eyes.

"Nothing much, pretty uncle."
"Y-you! You…tsk. I'll get back at you soon." Brown bit his lower lip from frustration and Riley had fun teasing him.
"Okay pretty uncle. I will wait for you to get back at me."
"What's with this 'pretty uncle' thing? Have you lost your mind?" Jackie scolded her twin.
"Hey! It wasn't me who started it. It was Jade." She argued back to defend herself. "I just copied her since it fits well to his image." She mumbled enough for Brown to hear.
"Hey, you little lady!" Brown exclaimed and was about to scold her when Jade and Sky came down. They didn't want to argue in front of the child so they all became smiling idiots in an instant.
Riley didn't smile though. She copied Jackie's expressionless face instead and looked towards the child. Jade slowly walked downstairs while holding on to Sky's hand. She walked towards Jackie and Riley with curious eyes.
Everyone waited for her to act and identify which of the two was Riley, whom she met earlier. Under everyone's gaze, Jade raised her hand and held on to the hem of Jackie's t-shirt. Riley was about to jump in victory because she thought the child made a mistake.
To everyone's surprise, "Are you Auntie Riley's twin? What's your name?" Jade asked these questions without blinking her eyes.
Riley scoffed and coughed to swallow back her victory. She didn't expect the little kid to identify them all. "Are you disappointed that you lost your own game?" Brown smirked at her before turning to the little girl. "Baby girl, how did you know that this woman isn't your Auntie Riley?"
"Auntie Riley was copying her expression but she can't copy someone's look in the eyes." Jade stated which earned a round of applause from everyone.
"Great job!"
"You are amazing little baby!"
"That was a great feat for you to identify this pair."
Jade didn't think that she did something amazing but since they were happy, she also smiled at them.
"Nice to meet you, Jade. My name is Jackie." Jackie introduced herself to the child. "You said that Riley can't copy the look in my eyes. How do you see my eyes earlier?"
"Auntie Riley knew me earlier. Her face was expressionless but her eyes were gentle. Auntie Jackie, on the other hand, your face was expressionless but your eyes held curiosity when you saw me. That's how I know." Jade answered slowly as she explained herself.
"Travis and Jillyanna are lucky to have this kid. She's smart and knows how to read expressions. She can't be lied." Thomas commented while watching on the side.
"Enough with that." Savannah spoke from the kitchen. "Can someone call Travis and Jill. It's time for lunch."
"I'll go." Brown volunteered and went upstairs.
Jackie wanted to talk more to the child but it was time to eat already. 'She's a very interesting child.' Jackie thought to herself while watching the kid walked to the kitchen with Brown holding on to her right hand and Riley on to her left. "You are lucky to meet Jillyanna." She murmured before following them.
In city C, inside the huge mansion, a man was drinking wine with a picture frame on his other hand. One of his trusted men came inside to report to him. "Sir, it is confirmed. The young lady was indeed sent to the orphanage."
"Prepare to visit the orphanage."

The Undead Revolution
This was my first attempt at writing a story, in hiatus indefinitely. This story follows Silvy, half-elf, a rare race despised by both humans and elves. Having never met her father, the first years of her life were spent together with her mother, who had to leave her native village because of the blasphemy she had committed by giving birth to Silvy. At the age of eight, Silvy became an orphan and was left to fend for herself. Her mother had died of illness, Silvy’s life turning upside down: the child went from living in a modest but cozy home with poor but daily meals to live outside the walls in the slums, where crime was commonplace and food was scarce. Luck had yet to abandon her completely though, because a group of orphans like Silvy decided to help, integrating her into their group and teaching the tricks of the trade; that is, stealing and swindling. But fate had not yet finished playing with her. Kidnapped and frightened, her life will turn upside down again when she awakens as undead, but still able to think clearly.

Arcane Transmogrification (Book Two of the Pentacle Series)
Book Two of the Pentacle Series Danny can only hope that his most recent efforts have saved the caravan he was traveling with, but was the price he paid too great? [Please consider this is an alternate/abridged and free version of book 2. The newly published Amazon version is over twice as long. I added a number of additional adventures, expanded on Danny's personal relationships, and made many revisions to the overall storyline. I apologize, as I have no current plans to add any portions of Book 3 to this website.]
