Chasing After My Wife Chapter 465

Jade's hands trembled as she listened to the voice. She didn't speak and tried to listen attentively for any other sound.
"Don't come! Don't go out!" This time, the voice held warning and was shouting fiercely from the back ground.
"Shut up!"
"Ugh!"
Jade figured out that someone was using a voice changer to call her. The first person who spoke to her sounded wary and worried. It was as if he was suffering from pain. However, someone called out to warn her.
Ryden didn't expect such thing to happen. He never thought that the man would gain consciousness in no time. "I should really have poisoned you." He threatened but the man smirked at him.
"Go ahead."
On the other line, Jade hang up the call and dialed her mother's number. No one answered her. She dialed again but it kept ringing without anyone picking up the call. She dropped the call again and this time, she called Travis. To her worry and fear, none of her parents answered her call.
"Auntie Jackie! Auntie Riley!" she yelled at the top of her lungs while still dialing the series of number that she memorized. "Come her immediately."
Riley turned off the stove and came running towards her who was already crying silently, still trying to reach her parents. "What happened?"
"What's wrong?" Jackie also asked while wiping Jade's tears.
"You call Mommy and Daddy, too. I need to know if they are fine. We need to hurry." They didn't what happened but seeing her distress look and hearing her plea, the twin pulled out their phones instantly to call Jillyanna and Travis.
"Would you mind telling us what happened while we try to reach them?" Jackie suggested, rubbing the child's cheek to calm her a little.
"Someone called. I don't know why but he knew that it was me who answered the phone. It was really suspicious and someone shouted from the background that I shouldn't go out no matter what."
"Was it a man or a woman?"
"I don't know. The person was using a voice changer. However…however..the man who warned me…his voice was very familiar to me."
Jackie were getting restless as well. They haven't reached the husband and wife even after that several calls. Shein heard the commotion earlier and changed his clothes as fast as he can before coming down to find out what was happening.
"Go back and get your computer." Riley ordered him as soon as she saw him come out. He had not step on the staircase and yet, he had to go back to his room once again to get his laptop. When he came down, Riley handed him a piece of paper with a string of numbers written on it. It was the called ID that she got from the land line recorder.

"when did the call happen?" he inquired while starting to open some dialogue boxes on his computer screen.
"Around ten minutes ago."
Shein didn't ask for more information and started tracking the caller. At the same time, he was infiltrating the network security of the hotel where the year-end party was being held. They needed to know if the couple were doing fine, specially that none of them answered their calls.
"Will they be alright?" Jade inquired, her voice worried and anxious. She was still trying to figure out who was the person that yelled from the background of the call.
"Don't worry sweetheart. Your parents will be alright." Jackie responded in an attempt to comfort her.
"This is weird." Shein mumbled while looking at the details of the number that he traced.
"What's wrong?" all three women, one kid and two adults, looked at the series of information in front of them. The map where the red dot was coming from, it was around their place!
"Isn't this near this house?" Shein asked hesitantly. He doubled check the information and it still showed him the same place. "It is really from this place. This…are..are we being watched?"
They all looked towards each other and smiled like nothing happen. "Let's ask as if we don't know anything. Let's all pretend that we don't care about this. No wonder the person knew it was Jade who answered the telephone."
Jade sat on the couch and bent her knees, curling her body like a cooked shrimp. She was worried for her parents but she can't do anything. Jackie decided to send another message to Jillyanna and Travis.
"We should probably get the numbers of the body guards next time. Everyone's number; to make sure that we can reach the people we needed to reach." Riley stated. "Let me continue to cook. If anything will happen, we need to eat and have energy for a possible trouble." She walked back to the kitchen with Jackie following behind her.
Ryden on the other hand was getting impatient. He finally got the time he needed to get his revenge but it seemed like he would fail again. "Why don't I just kill everyone, without letting anyone come out alive?" He looked at the man whom he tied on a tree. Other men were lying on the ground, breathless; died completely from the bullet. "Don't you think it was more fun to do it that way?"
"Don't! My daughter is innocent."

"My siblings were innocent, too." Ryden answered back.
"Which was why they weren't killed."
"They weren't killed but they would live in shame for the rest of their life." He retorted with overwhelming hatred.
"What your father did was wrong?"
"Then, did Jillyanna do the right thing by putting father to jail?" He smirked at him and even landed a punch on his gut. "Killing them or letting them live in shame, it is all the same." He turned around and looked back at the house not far from where he was hiding. "Killing everyone inside that house is also the same as killing an ant."
His eyes glowed with extreme hatred and killing intent. "Too bad, I didn't bring any bomb with me." He laughed, one that could raise goosebumps on your arms and back. "It would have been a wonderful sight."
"You are crazy!"
"So, what?" He didn't care if he was being called crazy. It doesn't matter anymore.
Inside the house, Shein stopped infiltrating the network security for the meantime. He carried Jade in his arms and brought her inside his room. He took a bulletproof vest that he got from Jillyanna years ago and helped Jade wear it.
"Uncle, are we in danger?"
"I suppose, yes. I am not sure if we will be attacked tonight but it would be better if we are ready."
"How about you? What will you wear?"
"I have another one which would fit me. Don't worry." After making sure that she wore it properly, he brought her out and went inside her room. He took three thick Jacket and let her use it to cover the vest before the two of them went out to go to the kitchen.
"You guys eat first, I will just change." Jackie took off her apron and left.
"I'll do the same." Riley ran after her twin to prepare herself. Shein placed some food on Jade's plate for her to eat.
"Uncle, where are we going after this? Don't we have a guard?"
"We have. However, we can't put our lives in their hands. We need to escape before anything happens. What if the person hunting us brought a bomb, we will die in an instant if that is the case."
"So, the bullet proof…"
"It's just for precaution, just in case the enemy or enemies are using guns."
Jade continued to wolf down her food. She needed to be strong and make sure that she won't be a burden to anyone. "Where are we going later?"
"We will go to your grandmother's house." Shein responded to her.
When Jackie and Riley came out, they were wearing a black tights and black jacket. Their hair was tied up in a high ponytail as well. They were both holding two guns and there was a knife slid on the side of their black boots.
"Cool." Jade commented. "If only we are not being hunted."
Jackie sat down on the chair opposite the little girl. The kitchen was located somewhere at the back portion of the house so, one can see them from the outside. She called Auntie Fei and Auntie Sisi and told them to stay in grandpa and grandma Shan's house for a while. The three body guards who were responsible for their safety were told to get ready. They needed to leave as soon as possible before their enemy could strike them.
It's better to be safe than sorry. They didn't know what happened to Jillyanna and Travis yet which was why, they needed to escape. "I contacted Lucian earlier. They will come and pick us up at the east border. We can't escape through the main road; our enemy will know." Jackie informed them.
"Don't be scared, Jade. We will protect you." Riley stated but Jade only nodded her head in silence. She was still thinking about the man who shouted a warning to her.
'Was he just scaring us so that we would come out? Or was that person really planning to strike at us?' Jade was thinking deeply even when they were about to leave the place. 'Where exactly did I hear that voice?'
Riley and Jackie were walking in front, Shein was carrying Jade in the middle of the group and the three bodyguards were following behind them.
"Stop! The man who yelled from the background was my father!" Jade exclaimed when she realized who that voice belongs to. "It's my father!"
