Chasing After My Wife Chapter 488

Travis held onto her hand and walked to the crowd. "Tonight, we're celebrating your birthday." He started with a sigh. "I am happy that we get to celebrate it but I'm quite disappointed in myself. I have realized that I've been doing things rather late. I got you pregnant before marrying you. Our engagement came later than the time we registered our marriage. We are celebrating your birthday way past after the real date. And I haven't taken you to our honeymoon. I feel a little incapable lately."
Jillyanna rolled her eyes at him. "What ae you sulking about? Aren't you feeling that way because of me? I hooked up with you to get myself pregnant. I tried running away and you keep chasing after me. I agreed to marry you even though we didn't really havw concrete plan for our future. You had to take care of me and our family because of my illness. I even added another company to burden you just because I don't want to lose it and selfishly pushed everything to you. You have to look after the children, me, the company, the people we care about and so many things. While, I, on the other hand, just sit on the side and watch you do everything. I couldn't be more than thankful for that. Aside from my 'thank you', my body, my heart, my soul, and my time, I don't know what else to give. So, don't feel bad about yourself." She whispered everything to him in one go, not allowing to interrupt her momentum.
Travis felt a surge of emotion in his heart and he could only pull her in a warm embrace. "Uh..you guys aren't done yet? You should go back to your room and finish everything before coming here." Diego commented while watching the two of them being lovey-dovey in front of him.

"Ah Dee!" Jillyanna called out his name happily and walked up to him. It was the first time that she called him with his nickname. "I have not thanked you yet for the thing that you've done. If it wasn't for your loud mouth, Travis and I won't be where we are now."
"Haha. Are you really thanking me or cursing me? Anyway, it's not a big deal." Diego responded with a faint smile on his lips while scratching the back of his head. "Belated Happy birthday to you."
"Happy birthday, Jill!" Cheska and Wynwyn came and greet her together.
"Happy birthday, sweetheart." Thomas greeted her as well.
"Thanks, Dad."
"Happy birthday, sis." The twins and Shein came over to greet her as well. Friends from business industry were also there, admiring the newly-built villa and the garden.
"My attention was diverted again." She mumbled to herself before raising her head to see the man next to her. "Would you like to tell me what happened now?"
Travis nodded his head and took a glass of fruit juice from one of the passing waiters and gave it to her. Jackie and Riley couldn't serve everyone so they hired for waiters from the same event organizer. Even though they would only serve the guest for few hours, the payment was equal to a whole day of work so people wanted to grab this opportunity.
Hawk wanted to surprise Savannah with a house and he had a rough sketch of the design already. Shein and Riley wanted to be away from the prying eyes of people but our house wasn't that very large and the fence wasn't high enough so they wanted to build a domain with high fences, away from the paparazzies. Brown and Valkyrie thought that their relationship might not be a good influence to the children so they wanted to have a space of their own where they can do their thing."

"So, everyone built their house in my back garden?"
"Sort of. The land next to us was put on sale, so I bought it without any hesitation. We thought that it would be good to have a place where we will be together. A place where the kids can play around, where you and the othes can bask in the sun, admire the fishes and flowers – something along that line."
"Aren't you forgetting something?" Jillyanna cut him off.
"What?"
"What about Jackie?"
"She bought her own place already. The Shans sold their piece of land to her. But she was planning to build her own house when the right time comes. "It might not be a good thing to say but, Jackie was actually just waiting for the Shan's to die before taking over the place. It won't be if she would chase the old couple away from their own place even though she bought it.
Jillyanna didn't say anything anymore. Some people came over to greet her and she just smiled at them. Her family came as well and Sky immediately asked for her grandchildren. It had been always like this, whenever she came over, it was to find the two children. Cielo and Jillyanna had no more space in her life. She just wanted to spend her time with her grandchildren. Sometimes, she would even tell Cielo to hurry up and give birth already. It was ridiculously fun specially that Cielo was still several months away from her due date.
Together with her husband, they stood up on the bridge and watched over the moon being reflected on the pond. The koi fishes swam over and hid the moment they notice a movement over them. The place was brightly lit due to the event and from the full moon as well. The brightness was sending warmth in her heart.
"Thank you so much for always considering my needs and wants." She spoke to him softly. "This was never the scene that I imagined myself to be in. Few years back, I imagine myself living in Europe or in States with my baby. I didn't see any man in imagination before. I didn't see a place where a husband could stand with me. Now, I don't need to picture anything in my mind."
"I will stay with you forever, now and tomorrow and the next coming days of our life."
"I know I can count on that promise. Thank you."
"I am-"
"Daddy, baby Raizel is awake." Jade's voice rang out from the back door, trying to get to him as quick as she could.
"Let's talk again once we're alone." Travis told Jillyanna as he kissed her forehead and walked away from her. He walked towards Jade and gently pat her head before walking back inside.
"Little Princess, shouldn't you be calling your mother? I never heard of a man taking care of his child." One of the guests, a business partner, commented when he heard Jade call for her Daddy.
"I'm sorry to hear that you don't know such information. My father is the most capable person, he can take care of large empire so it is given that he can take care of his family. My Daddy is the best father in the world. Please excuse me." Jade left the man speechless with her statement, looking both haughty and proud.

The Errant Otherworlder Watanabe
“In this world nothing can be said to be certain, except death, taxes and trucks whom transport men to other worlds.” Meet our titular protagonist Haruto Watanabe, a man who has all the markings of a good protagonist for a generic portal fantasy story. As an overworked office worker, to escape from the grips of crippling capitalist alienation, he had taken up to reading many stories where young men like him were transported to other worlds and enjoyed their lives at a most leisurely pace. Armed with genre-awareness and (what he believes to be) a marketable personality which would make him an easy audience self-insert, he longed for the day the isekai express would take him to his long-awaited adventure to another world. When the fateful day came, where the fair yet harsh mistress that is the fabled truck took Watanabe on one last date to the other side, he was most ready to escape his previous life, ready to embark on an errant so great he’d be most overpowered, his heroics so exceptional and his harem so vast that they would barely fit ten or twenty volumes of an overly long novel made by a desperate author looking for quick cash. Lo and behold however, Watanabe instead found himself in a low fantasy world which lacked severely in the department of any game-like systems, cheat skills or easily charmed damsels in distress. In a setting so antithetical to his established genre savviness or any attempts at power fantasy, how will a man like Watanabe, lacking in strength, wits and courage, manage to survive in a land most foreign to him? This is my first time trying to share to the wider world what I’ve written, and I hope you’ll enjoy reading the errantry of Watanabe as much as I enjoy writing about them. I'll be posting one chapter per week on Sundays, along with extra chapters whenever I get the chance to write more than usual.
