Ru Shi was getting ready for the college when the doorbell rang. She opened the door and saw Gan Dewei at the door. "You?" she muttered and let him came inside. He came in, closing the door behind him.

"Chang is injured. Did you talk with him?" Ru Shi asked him.

"Yes. I called him last night. I will go there to meet him today. If you want to come then I'll take you there after college," asserted Gan Dewei. The two relaxed themselves at the mini couch.

"I will be punished, I guess. Dad for the first time defended me in the police station. I felt good. Thanks to Chang, a big burden has thrown off my shoulders," Gan Dewei asserted. "There is something I want to tell you," he then said.

Ru Shi had an inquisitive expression on her face. "I will not be here for sometime. I have some works to do. Not bad work but some good work if I am acquitted of those crimes in which I was partially indulged. If not, then I have to serve at least a year or two year jail term. So, don't wait for me. Move ahead in your life if I will be in jail," Gan Dewei stated.

"Why? I am indeed moving on in my life but I also want to walk along with you. Whatever be the result, I will wait and beside you. I have no one except you in this world," Ru Shi pronounced proudly. "And don't say anything further because I will not listen."

"You are young Ru Shi. I have no future and I don't want the woman whom I love to hold onto me," stated Gan Dewei.

"It's fine. I will work and take care of us both. Time has changed. A woman can take care of her man too," she opined. Gan Dewei ended up giving a chuckle hearing the responses of Ru Shi.

"And we don't know if you will be punished or not. Chang will save you. I believe him," she said and lowered her eyes. She was on the verge of crying but she was controlling them from falling.

"You don't need to always act strong. Okay, then promise me one thing that you will study hard and be a top journalist of China. If we will marry in future which I don't know… then I would love to see you daily on the 9 pm show," stated Gan Dewei.

"I promise and I will marry you only. If you try to run away from me then I will chase you till the end of this planet," Ru Shi pronounced.

Gan Dewei smiled. "If I won't be jailed then I will not let you work. You have to focus on your studies only as I want my woman to be on top of the world. I will work to give you a good life," Gan Dewei stated. Ru Shi smiled. "You won't be punished for the things you never did." She assured with and grabbed his hand.

"Just never leave my hand and I will be happy," Ru Shi told him. Gan Dewei nodded his head and pecked her cheek. "Come, I will drop you to the college," Gan Dewei said, pulling her up as he stood up. Ru Shi grabbed her bag from the sofa table, leaving the apartment with Gan Dewei.

"You did not take me to the zoo," Sam said with an angry face. He had crossed his arms and wasn't looking at Xian.

"Dad was busy in some work. I promised you, right? I will surely take my Sam to the zoo but before that Sam has to go somewhere with me. If he won't then I am afraid he might never see the zoo," Xian stated. Sam who was sitting on the bed facing headboard tilted his head to glance at Xian but then again turned away his face.

"Okay, I understand. Sam does not want to eat the new ice cream came into the market. I have to eat that ice cream all alone," Xian said with puppy eyes.

"New ice cream?" Sam muttered and stood up on the bed. He walked to Xian who was towering beside the bed.

"Okay. I will forgive you this time. But dad, you have to give me two ice creams scoops," Sam said in his innocent voice, making two with his fingers. Xian ruffled his hair. "Okay. Now kiss dad's cheek. He needs your love," Xian said as he bent himself and showed him his cheek.

Sam gave a soft kiss to Xian. "Ahh, dad is happy now," Xian voiced and then pecked his cheek. "Don't ever get angry with dad," he said.

Sam nodded. Xian made him sit on the bed and then bent down on his knees. Xian grabbed the shoes and made Samuel wear it. "Where is mommy?" Sam asked Xian.

"Mommy is with her brother and sister. Your uncle is injured so mommy needs to look after him," Xian told him as he tied the shoe laces.

"Mommy always does so many works," Sam stated, stressing the word 'so'. Xian agreed to him. "Mommy has to take care of so many people around her, that's why," Xian told him. "Done," Xian said as he tied the shoe laces. He then lifted Sam up and put him down on the ground.

"Can other person not do that? The work that mommy do?" Sam asked, lifting his head up, looking at Xian. Xian bent on his knee and started caressing Sam's hair.

"Mommy's place is special so is her works. No other person can do the things which your mommy can. That's why your father loves your mommy so much because she is special," Xian said with a broad smile on his lips.

"I also love mommy," Sam said with a smile.

Xian smiled. "I know. Then, shall we go?" Xian asked him, holding his tiny hand in his. Samuel gave a nod, and then two left the room.
