My Space-Time System Chapter 151

"I think I need a seat." After reading about the first day, Blake knew he was about to read a long series of trials and failures.
"Huh?" When Blake flipped over to the next page he was shocked because the next entry was day 126.
[Day 126. Finally, the nova crystals have begun to show signs of stabilizing and all that is needed is time and observation.]
[Day 5324. The nova crystals have attained 50% stability, but that isn't only the good news if not I wouldn't have recorded it.
After some breakthroughs which I had in the different departments of energy studies, I think I have figured a way to make the nova crystals less susceptible to elemental instability. Also, I have a theory which if successful, could make the nova crystals twice as efficient!]
"It keeps on talking about this nova crystals but never says anything about its use." Blake thought aloud as he flipped to the next entry that blew his mind.
[Day 11276. The nova crystals have completely stabilized and they have passed all the mapped out tests but they failed miserably in the organic section but since it is a personal test it can be considered a 100% success. All that is left is mass production of the nova crystals.]
"Isn't that like 30 years on one project, this must be his life's work." Blake was shocked by how long the unknown researcher had spent on just 1 project.
[Depending on one's realm 30 years could be like a year.] The system said.
"Finally…" Blake flipped over to the next page which seemed to be the last, but when he took a closer look it turned out to be another entry from the same day.
[I know it is not of character for me to make another entry for the same day, but I can't hold in the joy! I made the most mind-blowing discovery which supersedes the rest (but it was expected since it was a product of the combination of the other branches.)

This information is too sensitive for a journal, so I will keep it simple. We have been underestimating the power of the nova crystals all these years and I discovered how to integrate the nova crystals into almost everything!] The was the end of the journal and just after the last entry, Blake saw a signature, Zultra.
'So, what do you think? Is it safe to enter there?" Blake sort for the system's advice before making a decision.
[The journal says the nova crystals had stabilized, meaning it is safe. Also, I can't sense any mana fluctuations from here, so it's okay.] The system said.
"Let's check it out then."
The trio walked towards the double glass doors and when they were less than a meter away from it, the doors automatically slid apart causing them to flinch.
"I can't believe that we flinched because of automatic sliding doors when we have been using it all our lives." The trio chuckled about the incident, but they soon focused on the task ahead as they walked into the room.
The room was more than 7 meters wide and in it were 9 glass tubes that were connected to both the ceiling and the ground and floating in the glass tubes were what looked like pitch-black diamonds thrice the size of Blake's fist.
"Did anyone notice that the walls in here don't have mana flowing through them?" Ever since he stepped into the room, Blake hadn't for once put off his mana senses enabling him to quickly notice the oddities.
"You're right…" Brian and Castiel said in realization.
[That explains a lot…] The system's words quickly drew Blake's attention.
[The reason why you sense no mana flow within the walls is because of these nova crystals.] The system said in a fascinated tone. [It turns out that the nova crystals are a product of forbidden arrays.]

"Like the ones taught to us at the academy? I mean the ones that usually bring nothing other than chaos and destruction?" Blake was baffled at the system's words because the thing usually known as the harbinger of chaos was quietly floating in a glass tube like a fragile egg.
[I too am shocked about the discovery because bonding a forbidden array which is already a hot mess to a volatile material like a magic crystal is akin to entering a room filled with explosives with a flame torch.] The system said.
[Mana is actually flowing through the walls, but the nova crystals are absorbing it at a rate so absurd that you wouldn't notice mana flowed into this room unless you have mana vision, but this brings us to the question, how is this possible?] The system asked even though it knew Blake had no answers.
[It is illogical that two hot mess will make something so peaceful and apart from that how did the researcher stabilize them to such a level that absorbing such an amount of mana in seconds doesn't cause any instability?] The system kept on asking rhetorical questions as it tried to crack its head for an answer.
"If these things absorb so much mana every second it shouldn't they have overloaded by now, especially when you consider the fact that this underground facility looks deserted it should have been years since they were here?" Castiel asked after taking a good look at the nova crystals.
[Normal spells and arrays draw mana from only the user or the specified source, but unlike them, forbidden arrays and magic leeches mana from everything in its surrounding and that includes trees, humans, air, water, every single thing that is composed of mana.
The major reason forbidden magic is frowned upon is that they are bottomless pits that keep growing in size the more they absorb mana, making it hard to stop them once they had begun.] The system explained.
"But that brings us to the question, what is the researcher using something that only absorbs mana to do?" Blake's question put everybody into deep thoughts.

A Mildly Odd Reality Breaker
Omar receives an unexpected visitor who comes baring a gift—a "registration ticket"—in the form of a small metal card. The ticket is itself an offer to participate in the game, "Reality Break." Accepting this offer means that Omar will be able to perceive the true nature of reality where there is not one, but two dimensions of time, and in this second dimension history changes (and somewhat "frequently"). Along with this, he will also gain access to the "chronopause"; another reality that is not so much parallel to our own as it is perpendicular, which acts as both a place and the natural boundary between non-sequential points on the timeline. Using the chronopause, Omar will become a chrononaut with the ability to travel through time, and as a player, he will be given a cybernetic interface and his own portable extradimensional storage space. It's a strange conversation, but due to Omar's dismally short attention span, he only consciously hears that last bit about the portable pocket space, and that's only after the physics-defying void is opened in his living room and literally waved in front of his face. Reality is certainly stranger than most people realize, but then again, so is Omar. Thankfully, he responds well to shiny things, and for better or for worse, his chronic inattentiveness is the least of his psychological issues. Omar also has a mild form of "Oppositional Defiant Disorder" which presents itself as an occasional, arbitrary need to disobey others (especially authority figures). However, his oddest psychological issue by far is his "abnormally hyperactive" subconscious mind. Outwardly and consciously, Omar is a lazy, apathetic man-child prone to mildly asinine behavior. Subconsciously, he's some sort of genius capable of extraordinary feats of cognition. Most of the time, Omar is a (technically) functioning adult, but in order to live as such, he must rely entirely upon unusual abilities he's completely unaware of, despite the fact that he uses them regularly. Up until now, his life had merely been ridiculous, but now it was also a game. Note: The narrative style is that of a reliable narrator with a "3rd-person sarcastic" POV. This story takes place in the Reality Breakers/Chronopause universe.
