CHAPTER 190

The next second, Xander blinked and an unknown smile enveloped his face.

"She's awake."

"Huh?" Everyone was stunned by the change in things but before they could get a good grasp of what was happening, Xander turned around and ran away from the room.

At that moment nothing else mattered but her, not even her rage against him seemed to bother him anymore. He had only one thought and that was to see her safe and sound and awake.

Without wasting any more time, the others looked at each other and everyone raced out of the room with him.

"Jade, she is awake!" Xander yelled out once and scurried for his room.

Even Asia who was angry a few moments back at her father could not help but smile at Xander's little show of childlike act and his profound love for her.

She was glad beyond compare that Jade found a man who would love her even more than her parents loved her and by saying that meaning she would be his breath, his life and his everything because the love her parents showered on her, she did not think any man would beat that.

Unfortunately for her thoughts, Asia was happy, seeing that the one who caused her misery was her love and he knew the consequences of her seeing him, yet he raced to her like a man racing to his death.

"Xan, hurry and meet your mate," Jay yelled from behind him. He was more than happy that his friend was glad to see his mate irrespective of the issue on the ground. Well as one who had gone through something almost as similar before, he understood it quite well.

Even though the fear was there, there was nothing he could do once the joy and need to see her arose. It was as though his heart and body would not function without her by his side.

His breathing would increase with each passing second and the need to just see her even once to calm his heart and mind would pulsate through his blood like never before and when he sees her only then would his mind be at ease especially knowing that she was safe.

Not long after, Xander was already in front of his door. He had given the others quite a considerable amount of gap to catch up with, so they were nowhere in sight when he arrived.

He took in a deep breath first then he exhaled sharply. His eyes moved and looked up at the door, he was tempted to use his special eyes so he could take a peep at her before going in but the moment he decided to do that, he saw her eyes at the back of his mind, glaring at him.

He knew those eyes and what they meant, she meant for him not to try himself at what he wanted to do.

Immediately Xander flinched back and took in another deep breath, closed his eyes, and brought his right hand forward, reaching for the door.

Something had scared him and that was her ability to easily understand the mate bond and the specs with it. Although not to the fullest extent, especially as their mate bond hadn't clicked but they could get a grasp of things.

With shaky hands, Xander finally touched the doorknob and turned it open then walked in. When he got to the curtain demarcating the rooms, he pushed them apart and entered.

He did not bother to lower his eyes as this was important. He needed her to see him and see his pain as well, as much as his regret and apology.

However the moment his eyes landed on her face, his breathing stopped. She looked divine even in her worst moments. She wasn't still dressed by now and only clad herself in the white towel he placed on her body.

He let his eyes drape down to her chest where it was neatly tied around her chest, keeping the rest parts of her body from searching his eyes. At that moment, Jade felt naked before him, knowing to some extent how much his eyes could see if he wanted them to.

She did not know if he had activated his special eyes but she hoped he didn't. Sensing what she was worried about, he let out a bit of pained laughter before letting his lips pull to the side, smiling at her.

He was amazed at her thought at this point in time but upon proper thought, something struck a chord within him and his smile dropped, bringing a sad face back in play.

He had wanted to comment on her behavior as to why she was so bothered about covering up in front of him when he realized it himself. She was like that because right now she wanted nothing to do with him and she did not want him seeing her nakedness anymore.

That had further meant that she wanted nothing intimate to do with him again or anything for that matter.

It had struck his heart hard and painful that Xander felt his eyeballs sting that instant.

"Jade," he called out softly, swallowing the need to shed a tear.

"Don't."

"Jade please."

"Don't you ever call my name!" Jade yelled at him. "Never."

"Please." Xander threw caution to the wind and took the next series of steps forward and made his way to where she was on the bed And knelt down on the ground. Please, I am sorry, forgive me, my love."

"Get out, Xander. I do not want to see you or have anything ever to do with you again."

"No, please." He moved his hands, reaching for hers. That had irritated Jade and caused her to flinch, shifting from him, with a glare so bright in her eyes.

"DON'T TOUCH ME!" Jade hollered at him.

It was at this time that the others arrived and heard her yell. Instantly everyone froze in place, no0t daring themselves to take one step further.

It was as everyone had anticipated. She was going to burst when she awoke.

"This is bad," Sky thought out loud.

"What were you all expecting? That she would welcome him by her side with open arms?" Arctic asked the saddened souls.

Everyone apart from Sky glared him daggers almost instantly.

"You're one to talk," Asia spat out coldly.

"Asia, I am just saying, giving the circumstances.

"Giving the circumstances, father? Circumstances? You made this circumstance occur or have you not yet thought about that? If you had not allowed what had occurred to happen, Jade would never have found out about this."

'What are you saying? Are you saying that the truth is kept from her?"

"Yes," Asia said as a matter of fact. "Did you even consider anything even till now?"

"Of course I did. Her boyfriend was a cold-blooded murderer, having the blood of her parents on his hand."

"He never did it intentionally. Oh yes, he did but that was before they met."

"It doesn't change the fact. Hiding the truth from her wasn't being truthful no matter the reason. You were only prolonging her hurt and grief."

"As much as that logic made sense, have you stopped to really consider the fact that the only love she found and let her heart go to after losing all that she owned and knew, you destroyed that little hope of having a life, again?"

Arctic did not respond, he knew that his daughter had a point but the truth was already out because of his one and only selfish decision.

"Jade had never fallen in love, father but she did and you ruined it. You ruined it, is this being a guardian to her? Is this all that you promised her after she lost so much? Cause if this is it, she was better just chasing her revenge and killing Zale."

"ASIA!"

"You lost the right to even calling my name. I never thought I would see her broken but now I know. Jade is dead on the inside. Her heart hurts and burns with rage, regret, and everything you can think of."

"She would be okay. She is stronger and tougher than she looks," Arctic assured Asia.

"Is that what you think? To have your heart thorn in shreds twice within months by the ones you love, think again. Yes, she is tougher and stronger but with this, she would shed away all of her emotions and be a cold-blooded killer."

"And that is enough. I have allowed you two to run your mouth. Respect the Lord's private chambers. Silence you two or I would be forced to confine you two to your rooms. Things are already hard enough as it is and if you are not going to be supportive of them, then please leave."

Jay silenced them both and when he was sure both of them had gotten it into their heads, he turned from them and looked at Sky, allowing his fear to show on his face.

For both of them, it was the first time falling in love and now this happens? If they cannot find their way back together, they would forever be broken, unable to trust and love again.

For Xander, his fate was sealed with Jade. It was just unfortunate he had a cruel fate with him. He would never be able to love anyone again after her, causing him to have years of loneliness.

"It would be fine. Let us hope that their love would be able to overcome this," Sky muttered.
