Unlucky?Player Chapter 20

Night couldn't respond after what he had just witnessed. Was that the true power of a Legend?
Noel killed an uncommon grade mob in just a second, were all Legends this strong?
Multiple thoughts ran through Night's mind until he finally noticed the notifications.
"....."
Multiple level-up notifications but that was all, he leveled up to 50, even though he gains twice the XP when hunting in a group, he thought it was too much for him to level up 14 times.
However, he was slightly disappointed as he didn't receive any achievement but soon he realized it was probably due to the fact that he hadn't even touched the boss. He felt ashamed of himself but right at that moment, he made a vow to come back and kill the beast alone.
He looked at his status info and was quite happy with how his stats were looking.
(34 stat points available)
VIT:171 Hp;Def:8550;342
DEX:211 Spd;Eva:205.5; 1.055%
STR:171 PhyDmg:855/2=427.5
INT:171 MagDmg;Mp:(855/2=427.5);17,100
He knew he was at a huge disadvantage compared to the others, players usually gained 150 stat points if they leveled up 15 times but Night, he got only 30.
He then let out a sigh and said:
"As expected of the Legendary GrandMaster" Night said while bowing.
"Yeah yeah alright, stop sucking up to me, let's get going now"
Almost as if he hadn't just witnessed the death of a Guardian, Night followed Noel and soon they got out of Verdin and continued their journey, however since Night had been playing for almost 6 hours straight, he decided to call it a day and logged off.
It took both of them nearly two whole days of actual time to get out of Aeternum as well as cross Verdin, this was mainly due to the fact that Night would often log off and come back later.

Genesis was a vast world and information was worth a lot.
For example, only recently did players find out that monsters that fall under the category of boss or mini-boss or anything that wasn't a mob would match the level of the player they are facing as long as they weren't higher level than the player.
So this way bosses couldn't be monopolized easily.
The player can never be of a higher level than the boss, it was only possible when a group of players would hunt a boss, then the boss would be the same level as the average level of the group.
Such measures were taken to promote skilled play and not just advantage due to levels. However, once the player exceeds the boss by 200 levels then the boss would remain at the same level as it originally was.
However this was only the case with monsters, NPC's that fell under the category of boss would grow just like the players but these NPC's would have a natural advantage in growth rate to make sure they aren't killed off too easily.
KYOJIN also released information regarding the players' first ascension.
Classes in Genesis were important, however after the first ascension players would now be eligible to attain hidden classes in the game.
These hidden classes could be any of the following grades:
Rare,Epic,Legendary,Mythical.
There were two more grades Divine and Forbidden but this wasn't made public by KYOJIN. However, classes Epic and above had the capability to grow into the next grade IF certain requirements are met that is.
It was well known that these classes unlike the primary classes cannot be shared and the methods to attain these hidden classes were unknown. This was one of the reasons why everyone was busy leveling up.

When all the rankers of the world saw that Night had finally started playing and leveling again, all of them pushed themselves to the limit and tried harder and harder to level.
Some reached level 65, whereas others managed to reach the late 50's but all the players in the world stopped for a few minutes when they saw that Night was level 50, in just a few hours he had gained 15 levels!!!! Some players immediately complained to KYOJIN that player Night was cheating or that he was taking advantage of a bug. Most of them wouldn't have any issue if Night's leveling was consistent, Night went from level 35 to 36 in one day and 36 to 50 the next, this was why the rankers were restless. All of them demanded an answer as to how Night gained all those levels when they took at least two days to gain those many levels.
Kira, who was on top of the leaderboard looked at Nights farming speed in awe
"Just what kind of a monster is this guy? he said not believing what he just saw.
Little did they all know that Night the player who was referred to as a monster, cheater, and all such terms was just a 'cursed soul' getting carried by his master.

Nero Zero
Monsters plagued the lands for too long. No matter if one had fangs, beak, teeth, skin, fur, or feather, or was tall, stout, or diminutive, the people suffered. Until the Gadgeteers came with a device that could allow people to fight back. Powered by one's own magical power, feeding off of monster Essence, the Arbitrium bracer turned the tables. It also changed society. Strength of one's level cap was all that mattered. The strongest were Kings and Emperors. The weak or those too poor to afford the marvelous device, destitute. And so it has been for millennia. All that mattered was one's level cap. High, low, a fate decided the moment the strange contraption came alive. Too high and you were a threat to those interested in keeping the status quo, a weed to be nipped before it could grow and take root. Too low and you were nobody, fated to be a bit more than a simple farmer. What if someone, somewhere, came up with a zero for their level cap? Unable to use Essence, unable to level up. On all of recorded history, it never happened. Until it did. In a small village of fur-less and tail-less ape-beastkin, a boy found out he was uniquely handicapped. Nero's level cap was Zero. But he'd never let that stop him from reaching his goals. ------------------------------------------------ All stories have already been told. We merely reuse elements from them. From Joseph Campbell's Monomith to Stephen King's advice, and that encyclopedia of tropes you've visited, fiction has been dissected and reassembled countless times. One will surely find elements inspired on other works here. Just like cooking from basic ingredients, the recipe and presentation is what really matter. This is a fantasy adventure, of someone that goes from a zero to a slightly bigger zero. It will have romance but no harem. Cruelty but with hope dimly shining ahead. Lightweight where it can be, heavy where it must. Thanks for reading. Cover Credits (The cover is CC-BY-NC-SA): Steampunk Spider Bracer, by Daniel Proulx. The Last Breath
When Yezzu first sent his sons to the realm of men, they brought with them the magic of the gods. They created the three kingdoms we now have today being Dremshen, Ex'ol, and Kantillion. In the five thousand years since the gods left, much has changed. Great wars were fought, Universities were built, civilizations were created. One thing remained after the gods' departure though, their powers. Today, the balance of crafting the three gods brought has shifted. In the beginning, each had the same skill as the other, but the magic that was passed down through the millennia has diminished. The struggle for power that started long ago is coming to a defining moment. Plots of war and assassination are being weaved. Don't despair, for we may yet be saved from the disasters to come. Our hope lies in three young crafters. The first is William Divus, who sets out from his small village into the Dremshen Kingdom to study crafting after his father's passing. His questions about his father and his quest for knowledge drive him. Next comes Ehzahn Obasi, an Ex'olian thief with unparalleled skill. He steals for the thrill, no longer needing the rewards that come with it. He has just achieved his lifelong dream, but he will soon learn how much he underestimated the fallout from his daring theft. The last is Ki Soru, the niece of a powerful duke. She showed promise with crafting at a young age, so she had the best training the Kantillion Kingdom had to offer. Ten years have passed since her lessons began, leaving the king unsatisfied with the results. Her life is upended when her new teacher arrives, revealing a secret kept from her that changes her whole life. These three are our heroes. They were born in separate kingdoms under vastly differing upbringing, but each with their own part to play in the challenges to come. Here begins our tale of mischief and misery with only but a sliver of hope.
