Unlucky?Player Chapter 123

In the first match of league B, Ju Fen vs Layla, arguably the best archers of Genesis as of now. Layla took the win, though it was close and everyone expected Ju Fen to win. Considering the fact that she held the lead during Accuracy Spike for longer and her aim was slightly better, it made sense that the majority would side with Ju Fen.
However, the aim isn't the only thing an Archer requires, Ju Fen was more of a sniper, whereas Layla focused more on combat archery, meaning she wouldn't be hiding at the back and shooting, rather she would constantly be on the move while hunting.
Being a sniper made it costlier to miss shots, even if the charge time was a second more, it would still be a huge advantage for the opponent, especially if the opponent had high movement and attack speed, which was exactly what Layla had. She was quiet and agile, it wasn't easy to hit her especially with a sniper-type weapon.
The matches went on one by one until it was finally Nate's fight. He was a peculiar mage, in short, he could be considered the bane of his kind, the weakness of all the users who picked the mage class or those who focused on spells. When he was in the state of Ἑκατα, he drained the mana of every single being within a 10m circle(diameter), and Three Moons Dispersion a single target spell that negates all of the target's magic and status enhancements and blocks the usage of magic or staus enhancement skills for the next 5 minutes.
It was foolish to expect a mage to whack someone with their staff or wand, well not foolish but it's just never been heard of, unless and until the opponent is immune to such skills or he/she has a skill that counters Three Moons Dispersion. Nate even had his new BloodLine skills which he didn't get a chance to test out yet. Fortunately, he could manipulate mana even though the skill was removed. (Mana manipulation was replaced by nature manipulation)
On the other hand, his opponent was an Arcane Knight, a hidden primary class user, a class that allows users below level 100 to use magic whilst wielding a sword. According to Luke or Night, Zane was an "interesting" opponent and by the fight, it seemed like he enjoyed talking quite a lot.

'I am nervous for no reason, he probably doesn't recognize me ahaha, that has to be it,' Nate thought as he walked to the capsule.
"It's that NotYourTypicalMage guy!!"
"He's Night's friend, I swear I saw the two of them together!"
"This is huge! is he just as mysterious and strong as Night???"
"We will have to see, the match is starting so shut up!"
"You're the guy from back then," Zane began, "I see that you're friends with Night, so that's why you sounded so convincing back then..."
"Well, what can I say, I'm just NotYourTypicalMage hahaha," Nate chuckled, 'I feel like I've used that joke before....'
"It does not matter. As long as you are not Night then you should bow down to me, after all I am your king,"
"Bow down?....since when did you become my king? and why is Night the only one who is left aside?" Nate stared at Zane like the latter was a dead body.
"Well, he's stronger than me, at least for now, once I become stronger I'll make sure he kneels to me," Zane laughed before his expression turned dark, "wipe that expression of your face! you dare look at me with those eyes?? me??"
"It's time the duel started so get ready," Nate announced in a monotonous voice.
He didn't bother waiting for Zane, something inside him clicked, he knew he was weaker than Luke, he still had a long way to go but was it too much to be a little positive or optimistic? besides, who was Zane to judge them?
Nate swiped his hands and two mana blades went flying towards his opponent. Zane reacted quickly by blocking the projectiles with his sword. He then enhanced his sword with fire magic and dashed towards Nate.
'Fire magic again.....'
Nate just stood there, without moving an inch or even flinching in the face of the huge flaming sword approaching him. He could see Zane moving towards him, even then he calmly thought about the best way to finish this match.
'Maybe if my Nature Manipulation was high enough, I could just burn him with his flames...that stupid face of his..'
'For now I guess I'll stick to this...' he pointed a little in front of Zane's feet and shot a ball of water.

'What's he trying to do? that's clearly going to miss,' Zane thought as he was still moving towards Nate.
"Water-style..." Nate said.
"Huh?"
"Slip."
"..."
"...."
"....."
The audience stayed quiet. Zane, a ranker who was above level 90, just slipped and fell on the ground. He was someone who showed excellent skill and decision making and yet he couldn't save himself from falling.
"A cowards move, fight me like a real ma-"
*𝘚𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘴𝘩*
Another water ball flew straight into his face. This time he didn't bother screaming or saying anything, he simply got up and held his sword with both his hands, slowly a barrier of flames was formed around him, instantly vaporizing every water ball that flew towards him.
Zane then brought the sword closer to his chest and began chanting, the flames that made up the barrier swirled around him and then shot into his sword. Runic inscriptions formed on his weapon. Zane had used all his mana and focused it entirely on enhancing his sword.
The temperature in the arena was enough to slowly melt away the ground, tiny pebbles on the ground turned to dust, every second that passed, the sword got bigger and bigger, the flames encompassed the weapon and enhanced it so much that heatwaves could be seen.
'This pressure...this heat....'
Nate was being pushed back from just the heat, his armour was slowly burning away, but he didn't falter, in fact, he had a smile on his face.
'That should've taken a lot of his mana right?' he thought before he pointed both his palms towards his opponent.
Zane looked like he was stepping out of hell itself, the fire around him getting stronger and more violent, a shadow figure through the flames was all Nate could see.
"What is that..."
"Why didn't he use this against Night...."
"Forget about Night, do you actually think he can escape from this?? Look at it! the entire arena is melting, his flames are stronger than Aurora's....is this supposed to be possible...?"
The crowd couldn't control themselves, they were going wild with what they were witnessing.
"This is the power of the Rightful King, you denied me of my birthright, now suffer!" Zane screamed.
"Is this the power of a god....."
"It has to be..."
"There's no other way.."
The audience was in a trance-like state, they didn't realize that they were talking to themselves while looking at a large screen.
"Rightful King? huh..." Nate muttered.
"Disciple of the God of Magic- 1st Stage: Three Moons Dispersion,"
*𝑾𝑶𝑶𝑺𝑯*
It was like blowing out a flickering candle, there was simply no resistance. The entire arena that looked like it was being grilled, the hell-like flames that covered the entire colosseum were extinguished when Nate said a single sentence.
Everyone could see Zane, standing there, with wide eyes and burnt eyebrows. He was confused as to what happened, he put his entire mana reserve into enhancing his sword but the buff was nowhere to be seen.
"W-what...did you do!!" Zane screamed as he fell to his butt.
"Me? nothing except strip you of that so-called birthright, forget about the whole king thing, you have better things to worry about," Nate laughed sadistically as he stepped towards Zane, "for example, me."
"You? a King? do not make me laugh, you can't even beat me, what makes you think you can ever beat Night? Actually, forget about that, you haven't even touched me and you're already out of mana, sweating, and on your butt."
"So tell me, what do you have, or what can you do that makes you a king?" Nate asked, "actually don't bother answering that, I'm a little annoyed. I'm usually not this mad you know?"
"But you just yapping and yapping, it's so fckin annoying! Here I was looking forward to trying out my skills but you were so weak I didn't even need to, it was foolish of you to use all your mana, to be honest, what kind of a "King" is so reckless?" Nate questioned as he stepped towards Zane who was trying to crawl back.
"I'll end it quick so that I can save you some suffering and pain, not that you deserve this mercy but I just can't bear to stand your presence for now," Nate frowned as he summoned mana blades that finished off Zane.
