In a garbled voice,Mi Rae asked,"What are you doing here?"She had yet to open the door.Neil smiled at her and said,"Honey..You need to open the door even if you are not ready.I am here for our date."

The pair of eyes grew bigger with each word that left his mouth.Seeing her getting perturbed by the minute,Neil gently pushed open the door and entered inside.She was wearing a pair of cut off denim shorts and a white t shirt.Her hair was tied up in a know on the top of her head and she looked shocked with her rounded eyes.Closing the door behind him,Neil went to her and planted a soft peck on her lips.He then turned around and noticing the open windows and curtains,closed them one by one.The room which was light and airy had suddenly turned darker.This pulled Mi Rae out of her trance.Accepting the weird reality that he was really here,she was at a loss at what to say.her big home suddenly seemed smaller.Smiling nervously,she asked him,"Umm,what are you doing here?"

Looking around the space,Neil did not answer her but looked at her thoughtfully and asked,"Do you even know what is going on?"

"Regarding what and where?"

Good Lord!She was even more clueless than him!"Where is your television?"

"I don't have one?"

Neil was shocked at that!Who does not have a television set in this day and age?"Why do you not have a TV?",Neil demanded to know.

Mi Rae looked at him with a frown and said,"Because I do not watch it!Neil did you come here to ask me that?"

"Where is your phone?"She looked at him as if he had lost his marbles but answered anyways,"In my purse.I have yet to charge it.Since I have officially left work I did not see the need to turn it on!"

Shaking his head at her,he frustratedly asked,"Do you know that there are media reporters standing downstairs?"

Like a bobble head she noddedand answered earnestly,"Yes.I know.I just came upstairs and they're looking for some hot shot lawyer in these apartments.They even asked me if I knew anyone and I told them I didn't."

Neil looked at the woman in amazement.There was clueless and then there was this!And the reporters even asked her...about herself...He narrowed his eyes and looked her over once again.He could see that how they would not recognize her.Mi Rae was not a very famous figure.And the media had her official photographs from where she was usually severely dressed for court...Dressed like this she looked like a college student..He let out a sudden laugh and pulled her cute nose softky.

Taking out his phone he searched the headlines and asked,"Mi Rae my sunshine did you not think that the media could be looking for you..Or have you forgotten you are also a hot shot lawyer?"With that,he passed his phone to her let her watch the news.Taking the phone,Mi Rae glanced at it and her eyes almost rolled back in her head.They were on the top search lists and the hottest topic of discussion.She read through the pieces until she could feel the steam coming out of her eyes.

The last updated piece was where Neil had come to pick her for a date and they were apparently in a romantic relationship..She looked up at Neil and then at the news.Taking the couch she sat down with a thump.Neil observed the many emotions that flitted across her face and finally settled into angry lines."I will kill them!I knew they would use underhanded ways but this is the pits!I will sue them for defamation!I will drag them in court and rub their noses in the crap that they have spouted.Getting up she marched towards her bedroom to get her phone but Neil stopped her with holding her shoulders."Calm down my lioness and sheath your claws.They have acually hit themselves.They could have quietly settled this out of court and given you some compensation the way you wanted but instead they chose to splash mud and play.Well I love to play in the mud as well!And now little beauty,go get ready for out date!"

It was only then she realized that Neil had already taken counter measures against the news articles.She alse realized that the mud slinging extended to him as well and she wanted to apologize..but before she could ay anything she was ordered to "Get ready."

Halfway through the door,she turned back and said angrily,""Neil,My name is not honey,lioness or little beauty!"

Neil reined in his laughter and nodded with a perfectly serious face.But the moment the door to her bedroom closed,he heard him call out,"Alright my honeybun!"

She stomped her feet in agitation and moved to her wardrobe.Only when Mi Rae had opened the door did she realize the problem.She had no idea where they were going for their 'date'.So she did not know what clothes to wear.He was dressed formally so she needed to wear something formal..But she only had suits in her wardrobe or casual clothes or long gowns for social functions.

Rummaging through her wardrobe she shook her head and finally found an old(but new)sundress.it was old because a friend had gifted it to her long back and new because she had never worn it.Fifteen minutes later,dressed in a pink sundress with a wide brown belt tied around her waist,she walked out of her room and Neil left his breath stop.
