You seem to be growing tired, so you should stop to rest
I hear that the food in small towns is often the best
There’s a town down there, why don’t you go and say hello
Guests are often welcome for a couple days or so
Sting had indeed started feeling tired after that fight
It was getting harder to wage battles while in flight
He took the screens advice and descended upon a town
Able to smell something delicious when he touched down
He landed in the middle of a place like none he’d seen
All the trees were big grey squares, instead of tall and green
The ground was also strange, covered in perfectly square rocks
Sting wondered if this was where some golem often walks
Sting followed his nose down a long trail of stones and bricks
Curious about how he could see no leaves or sticks
There weren’t even monsters there, no creatures or heroes
But he was more focused on the smell that found his nose
He came upon a wooden box on wheels upon the trail
Hanging from it was a small sign which only said ‘Sale’
The box was full of little round things, mostly brown and white
It was fluffy to the touch and so he took a bit
The flavour was nothing like the fruit he had tried before
He felt like he’d never eat anything else anymore
All he wanted was the strange white fluffy snack right here
He ate his fill then sat beside the box beset with cheer

Achievement: Cute Little Glutton
I see that you have taken quite a liking to that bread!
Somehow you look even cuter now that you’re well fed
I can’t wait to introduce you to all kinds of food
Just make sure to thank the one who made it, don’t be rude
Sting crawled underneath the box supported by four wheels
Content that he had just eaten one of the finest meals
Out of sight of all the monsters flying in the air
He curled up and he fell asleep without a single care
He dreamt about his homeland, where the sky was dark and red
Back when he didn’t understand a word that monsters said
He did miss his big family, and he dreamt of them too
But mostly he dreamt about bread and of a splendid view
His dream became an endless landscape, like the one he’d seen
Mountains in the distance, skies of blue, and trees of green
He dreamt of making new friends in this peaceful paradise
And learning how to say thanks for all of the great advice
He wandered through the memories which he’d amassed til then
Reliving those feral days of chaos once again
Hunting with his family to satisfy his thirst
Unaware that such an existence was cruel and cursed
The monsters that he’d killed to feed his hunger for power
All piled up in front of him like a bloody tower
And then the moment everything began to become clear
As he attacked one small human child who showed no fear
He’d been so hungry, driven by his need to feed and kill
He’d relentlessly attacked the child of his own will
But even as the boy’s body began to fall apart
He valiantly resisted until Sting stabbed his heart
The fear that Sting had felt when he had realized his sin
The aching of his mind and all the chaos there within
Gave way to a new love of life and everything it meant
But sorrow filled his dreams of how his entire life was spent
“What the heck, a monster’s sleeping underneath that cart!”
A sudden clamour awoke the sleeping Sting with a start
He woke up to find several swords all being waved at him
And faces on a bunch of humans looking pale and grim

The Triumphs and Tribulations of Kai Jameson
Kai Jameson is an average everyday young man. He still lives at home with his parents after having just graduated from college. He loves playing video games and his job at the local Buy More is tolerable. Of course that all changes the moment the system arrives and the Earth is connected to the Nexus. Turns out Kai was trapped in time for about eighteen months while the people already here got a headstart on him. He lucks into being rescued by some people from a town called Donnyton and learns that if he wants to survive in this New Earth he'll have to work harder than ever before. The rewards are worth it. This is Kai's story, the moments of his triumphs, and the moments when he feels that things couldn't possibly be worse. Thanks to puddles4263 and his story The Legend of Randidly Ghosthound for the inspiration on the world this is set in. If you have never read that I highly recommend it, and if you have read it and enjoyed that story then I hope you'll enjoy mine as well. This is the first story I'm ever putting out for public consumption so reader beware on that. Any constructive criticism is always appreciated, simply leaving a half star review tells me that you're a moron who doesn't know how to use words. I'm constantly trying to improve my writing and feedback and criticism on what works and what doesn't is the only way to do that at the point I feel I am at. Last, I just marked all the content warnings because you never know where a story will take you and I don't want to exclude anything (though there will never be a harem). I am going to release 1-2 chapters per week on Fridays. Thanks and enjoy.

The Orphan and the Thief
From the very beginning it was all Toad’s fault. A blundering, quick-talking thief, he was the one who cut a deal with the dangerous Edward P. That was all it took for Melena, a lonely orphan with a knack for potions, to pack her bags and join in on the quest. From the majestic forest of Holly-Harp Wood to the labyrinth caves of Dunthur to the frigid waters of the Blackens, they search for Owl’s ingredients. Toad and Melena must face sea dragons, cave monsters, birds as large as wagons, kidnappers, and thieves. Toad’s in it to save his head – cross Owl and start digging your own grave. Melena’s in it to get paid so she can start a new life, one that includes her missing brother. But you really can’t trust thieves.
