Solo Player Arvin Chapter 42

Both the black wolf and the brown wolf started staring at Arvin. They both have fury in their eyes. Before Arvin would have started to freak after seeing their murderous gazes. But now, Arvin had attained some amount of confidence in his abilities. So rather than making a plan about what he should do to safely run away from here, he started thinking about how he could take them down.
The black wolf, the alpha of the pack sat on the ground while still staring at Arvin. While the brown still stood beside the black wolf. Then the alpha growled a little bit. And as soon as he growled, the brown wolf started running towards Arvin.
Seeing brown wolf running towards Arvin dropped the idea of thinking about the strategy. He thought it was better to focus on this moment than think about a strategy….
AAAAHHHHH!!!
Arvin started screaming his war cry and then he also started running towards the wolf. He had heard that making a war cry helps decrease the morale of the enemy plus it gives us a boost in morale. So still screaming Arvin raised his ax while running. On the other hand, the brown wolf didn't even flinch a little bit after hearing Arvin's war cry. He just increased his speed a little more.
Both the brown wolf and Arvin both had killing intent in their eyes. They were about to kill or to be killed. But their confrontation suddenly came to an abrupt stop. As then both tripped on the ground because of an explosion….
BAAAAM!!!
Something huge came from the sky, tearing the canopy of trees and fell behind the brown wolf. With no clue about whether it was done by the black wolf or not, the whole area where Arvin was standing was clouded from the dust particles.
Arvin was quick on his feet. He got on his feet pretty quickly. He looked around and saw that the whole area was covered with a dust cloud. It was very hard to see anything through the cloud. Still, inside the smokescreen, Arvin didn't let his guard down, he raised his ax in preparation in case that wolf tried to attack him through the dust cloud…
{Arvin. Slowly and steadily retreat.} Lopt said. He said it in a tone that was oozing with seriousness.

'Huh?'
{Retreat… Don't make any sudden movements. Just retreat.}
'What are you talking…' Before Arvin could finish his sentence, he was interrupted by a very very very loud screech of a bird….
SSSCRRRRRREEEECHHHH!!!
That screech was so loud and terrifying that Arvin fell on his butt after hearing that screech. Before he could make a sense of what was happening around him, he heard the roar of the black wolf. But his roar abruptly died down just after few moments. On his butt, Arvin then started feeling the land vibrating. It was like something heavy was moving on the ground. Feeling those vibrations and remembering the screech earlier, Arvin was convinced that this was not something that he could handle right now. So obeying Lopt request Arvin got up quickly and started running back.
While running back, Arvin left the sacks of grains behind, as well by mistake he also left his ax behind. But he didn't realize it that time. He was in hurry to get out of here, that he forgot about them….
Arvin ran at a full speed towards the stream. In the between he didn't stop nor he looked back. He could still feel the vibrations on earth as well as occasional screeches. But despite that, he didn't look back. After reaching the stream, Arvin didn't directly jump in the stream. He followed the stream for some minutes. After he came out of the middle spot of the forest, he dived in the stream to wash all dirt and blood from before.
Before diving into the stream, Arvin made sure that he was alone and any type of animal was around him. He also asked Lopt whether it was safe to bathe here or not. As he got the green signal from him, he enjoyed the calm and soothing bath…
'What was all that?' Arvin asked after some time…
{I don't know. From what I observed something fell from the sky. Probably some kind of a bird…}
'Well, I can only think of one kind of bird that could make this type of big impact while landing.'
{Hmm… From what I able to discern, that bird is the strongest being on this floor.}
'Strongest? Hmm…'
{By the way, I think that from the pace from which we are going, it would take around a month for you to reach the level of that bird. So, after that, we can ascend. But remember to complete your quests before ascending. That is very important. Because once you ascend, the quests will automatically be failed.}

'Thanks for the heads up.'
{That been said, I think it should be safe if we go back now.}
'Go back where?'
{To the middle portion of the forest of course.}
'Sure. Let me recuperatea little bit.'
{Take your time. But don't shout at me later when you go back…}
'Why would it shout on you?'
{Because I didn't tell you to go sooner.}
'It is not like the population of beasts of the forest will decline if I go later…'
{Population may not decline but your weapon on the other hand may vanish.}
'What weapon?'
{….}
'What weapon?'
{Wait for it.}
'What?'
{Wait for it.}
'What the hell…..MY AX!!!!'
{There it is… I knew you would figure it out…*hehe*}
Arvin abruptly got up and started running upstream again. That ax was a precious gift given by Josh to him. While also that weapon was the only high-grade weapon that Arvin possessed. So letting that ax go was not an option for Arvin.
Arvin had not properly utilized the weapon yet and most important of all he hadn't uncovered the secret behind that ax. He was just hoping that he would find his ax, the same place where he left it. And he didn't want anything else. He just wanted that ax's grip in his hands again. Thinking about this as he was running, abruptly Lopt screamed…
{DUCK!!}
Hearing Lopt's scream, Arvin duked immediately. And as he ducked something came swinging down towards Arvin's torso. But as he was able to duck on time that object did not clash with him. After ducking, Arvin looked back towards the object that fell behind him. And to his surprise it the last thing that he was hoping to find…
Arvin and Lopt looked at the object and recognized it instantly. That object was none other than Arvin's ax….
'Is it an ambush? Did somebody threw it at me?' Arvin asked and starting looking vigilantly at his surrounding.
{No I don't think so.}
'Then what the hell was that?'
{I don't know. Unless…}
'Unless what?'
{Arvin, go back a few steps.}
'Why?'
{Just do as I say so!}
'Ok.' Arvin said while walking backward a few steps.
{Ok now. Visualize that you are holding your ax… No scratch that. Visualize that you want your ax in your hands. Visualize that, the ax is the missing piece of your arm and you want o hold it so that you can finally assemble all the pieces of your arm.}
'….'
{Do it.}
'You are saying strange stuff…}
{Just do as I say, runt!}
'Ok ok, fine.' Then Arvin started visualizing things as Lopt had instructed.
Arvin felt stupid as he stood there and started visualizing that stuff. So it didn't come as a shock to him even after visualizing it for a minute nothing happened…
{You are not doing it correctly.}
'There is a correct way to do it?'
{Yes there is… Wait before that ax didn't come flying towards us… What were you thinking?}
'I was thinking about how that important that ax is to me. I was hoping that it would get lost or broke…'
{Did you think about how you would wield that ax or something like that?}
'Yeah. I was thinking I just want to hold that ax again.'
{Yeah that is it. Imagine that again.}
'…ok…' Arvin said. Still, he was not able to see what, where, and why Lopt was doing this. Still, Arvin started imaging that he would not be able to see that ax again. He started imagining, that ax's grip in his hands. As he was doing that, his ax which was still lying on the ground in front of Arvin started vibrating.
Then suddenly that ax came flying towards Arvin. Seeing the ax flying towards him, Arvin did what he did before… He ducked.
As he ducked, the flying ax came and slammed on a tree behind Arvin…
{What the f**k? Why did you duck?}
'Hey, if projectile comes flying towards you with that speed you duck.'
{You were supposed to catch it, idiot.}
'But it was flying too fast…'
{What a pus*y!}
'....'
