Solo Player Arvin Chapter 91

Flying in the desert while being transformed into a Corgan was a very very bad idea. The desert is a very very cruel place. Not every animal or bird is meant to survive in this place. Arvin knew that the Corgans were not made in such a way that they could survive the hot climate of a desert. And it was his foolishness to fly in the desert despite that.
While flying Arvin's body would get heated up from time to time so he had to take a break often. He would transform back into his human form to decrease his body temperature. And he would drink a lot of water while cooling down his body. He was drinking water at a very fast rate. Although the amount of water that he had was enough for the 15 people and would last for at least a month. But that didn't mean that he should just waste it like that.
Seeing himself constantly taking breaks, Arvin decided that it would be better if he travels at night. At night the temperature of any desert falls down to an abnormal level. So Arvin decided that it would be for the best if travels at night. He would rather fly in the cold than on a hot day such as this.
So while flying Arvin tried to look for someplace where he could rest. And soon enough he found a perfect place. While flying Arvin saw some rocky mountains in the distance. Seeing those rocky mountains Arvin was filled with joy. He became very happy. Those mountains were bound to have a cave or something similar. So he had now found a place of camp.
Arvin started flying towards that mountain at full speed. But as he got closer to the mountain his excitement became double. From the sky, he could see some humanoid figures on the mountains. That meant that there was a human establishment in those mountains. And he was very happy that after a very long and stressful day he could finally rest there.
Arvin zoomed in towards the humanoid figures. He knew that right now he was in the form of a Corgan. A bird that is not common in these areas. To not gather too much attention to himself, so he decided that as soon as he would arrive towards the mountains, he would transform into a fly. This way he could eavesdrop on those figures on the mountain top. Maybe he would be able to learn some useful information about that establishment that was in the mountain.

So Arvin deliberately took a long route and circled back to the figures that he saw earlier. And when he got close to them a very deep frown appeared on Arvin's face…
From afar Arvin was able to see the humanoid figures. But as he transformed into a fly and got close to them, it was then he was able to see them carefully. On the peak, in one of the rocky mountains two beings were sitting. They were sitting with what looked like to be like a telescope. And the most alarming thing about these beings was that they were sitting at the top of the mountain despite it being so hot out here.
But the most alarming about these beings were their ears…. They were on top of their heads.
These beings had brown ears like that of a dog or a fox. Their ears were exceptionally big even when compared to a fox. These beings also had fluffy tails coming out of their back. While the rest of the features of these being resembled that of a human. The rest of the features of these beings were just like humans…
'WHAT THE HELL ARE THOSE?' Arvin asked.
{I don't know.} Loki said.
'How come they have ears and tail like animals? Are they not humans?' Arvin asked.
{Oh… you figured out that they are not humans. How the hell did you become so smart, Arvin?} Loki asked sarcastically.
'…'
{I don't know what their species are called.} Loki finally said.
'So they are a whole other species? Woah…' Arvin said while he was amazed to see them.
{Yggdrasil is filled with various species other than humans. So don't be so alarmed by this in the future.} Loki said nonchalantly.
'COOL!!!'
Arvin looked at those people who were just sitting there and using the telescope that they had to scout the nearby area. He waited there for a few minutes or so to hear any sort of conversation between them. By doing so, Arvin would know whether they use the same tongue that human uses or they have a special language of their own.
But to his surprise for all those minutes that he patiently waited there, those two beings didn't say a single word to each other. Which seemed rather odd to Arvin, but after eventually, he stopped his spying.
Arvin then moved on to the rocky mountains to see whether he could find some sort of civilization in these mountains. During his exploration to find an establishment, he found various caves in the mountains that could be used as a hideout. And eventually, he found civilization.

The amount of time of his transformation had increased as well as a large amount of mana in that air, Arvin still had a lot of time before his transformation runs out. So he started exploring the establishment in the mountains…
The size of this establishment was comparable to a full-grown city. After exploration Arvin found various facts about this city.
First of all the residents of this city seemed to be made of these cat people. Arvin literally didn't saw a single human in this city. Secondly, the money that he saw people used in this town seemed to be the same as humans.
Arvin when saw that the currency used here is the same as a human, he was relieved. Lastly, he also heard the common language used here frequently. It was the common tongue. So that also came as a relief for Arvin.
Arvin also noted two weird things in this species. These people really didn't wear a lot of clothing. The man wore small boxers while the woman wore similar boxers and a netted clothing for their chest. And one could see through any girl's boobs through that netted clothing.
Arvin also found one more odd thing. He didn't know whether it was a genetic thing or what, but the males of this species were all short. The tallest man that Arvin saw was just 5 feet and 5 inches tall. While the woman on the other hand went up to 6 feet tall.
Seeing the weird lifestyle of these people, Arvin started feeling excited. It was like he was on an alien planet and he had to infiltrate an alien establishment. It was very thrilling and exciting. So Arvin understood one thing that he had to infiltrated this city, no matter what. So after some exploring, Arvin came to the outskirts of the rock mountain. There he found a cave that was concealed in such a natural way that no one would be able to see it.
Arvin decided that it would be for the best if he didn't light any fire here as it would be a bad idea because it may gather the attention of these people. And Arvin right now didn't want to fight them. He had a long hard day. And right now all he wanted was to rest for a little bit. Arvin assumed that these people possessed all the capabilities of a cat. That would mean that they would possess the extremely sensitive smelling ability like cats.
So as a precaution, Arvin sprayed smell averting potion around his cave. This was concoction was made by herbs and plants found on the 1st floor. Most hunters used this concoction when they go hunting beasts in the Kalgan forest. Arvin had made a batch of them when he read about it in the books given by Alman. He thought that maybe someday he would use them. And today was that day. After spraying or applying this potion any wild beast would not be able to the person who applied it.
Arvin took out the tenting equipment which he stole from those men near the obelisk. He made himself a bed and lied down on it. He took out some jerky from his inventory and started eating it. Now finally free Arvin remembered the mysterious skill that he got as a reward from Hela. Loki talked like that skill was very important. Curious about what that skill does, Arvin opened his status menu…

'What happened to my level? Why did it fell from 209 to 109?' Arvin asked.
{That is simple. Remember I told you that 100 is the highest level of the strongest being on the 1st floor.} Loki said.
'Yes.' Arvin said.
{To be more precise the strongest being refers to the strongest beast of the floor.} Loki said.
'Okay…' Arvin said
{But when you ascended your system started showing your level as per the strongest being of this floor. That is why your level-209 dropped to level-109.} Loki said.
'That makes sense.' Arvin said. Now as he understood the dynamics of the level, Arvin moved on to the mysterious skill…

'Wait what? That description is too vague. I didn't understand clearly, what can this skill do?' Arvin asked.

Agenda of the Villainess
As the daughter of a duke, Lady Alicia Senius expected to awaken her latent magical ability during her Blooming ceremony. She was not expecting her connection to the flowers of Fate to awaken memories of a past life, however, and certainly not memories that were somehow inextricably tied with her future. Now, Alicia must find a way to escape the fatal punishment that is the destiny of a villainous noble girl. In doing so, she might even alter the fate of the whole world. This novel is a steampunk take on the otome villainess genre, heavily inspired by the late Victorian era of England and with a system of magic based around floweral circuitry. The Way of Wrought Earth, or: My Tale of Rebirth as a Mostly Inanimate Rock
Mirage Winter. Second Clause, current act. A Relic Hunter's life is harsh — and often short — in the shattered lands of the Frontier. But when Whitelight reemerges, a legendary blade capable of separating anything the user wills it to cut, a newly formed unit organized of Hunter’s both young and old (and sediment based, in a particular case) vow to stop it from falling into cruel hands. Standing against them is the Frontier itself: the unbridled wrath of global federations, fellow Hunters, and those who lurk in the shadows of giants. As the world races to unravel a history desperately concealed, a semi-sapient rock soon realizes that some things are better off dead and buried — especially when those secrets carry an insidious corruption with no cure. Iteration: Mirror-glass Stars in Iron Oceans. First Clause. A soul wakes up as a rock, clinging to fragmented memories and knowledge of another era. What fate awaits such a creature? No, this isn't satire. Yes, I am dumb enough to try to take this seriously. Updates Wednesday, Friday with a variable amount of chapters. This story is not recommended for the easily disturbed. Divine Progress
Progress is a dubious god. After failing him, three people are banished from modern times and sent to another world. Seemingly out of place, Christoph is snatched from his own time and plunged into a world of violence and magic with no deity to lend him support. Instead, Progress has seen fit to curse him with an eternal hunger for magical energy. Branded as a demon, he must fight for survival while battling the servants of the god who sent him there, struggling against the 'gift' that Progress bestowed upon him and the past he sought to abandon. Can he make his way across the lands and gather enough strength to survive without the blessings of the Divine? Or will the gods bend him to their will, breaking him if he seeks to resist? This is not a short story, and the plot will take many twists and turns before Christoph's journey comes to a close. After all, it is not the destination, but the Progress that matters in the end. Like many other stories on RoyalRoad, this is my first piece. Feedback is more than welcome, so please leave a reply if you have a comment or question.
