Arvin returned back the cave that he lived in before. Before doing anything else, Arvin first sprayed the last of his smell averting potion around the cave. He had brought only a limited amount of smell averting potion from the 1st floor. Now only some of it is left. From his estimation, he would be able to live in this cave for about 2 days or so before the effect of smell averting potion vanishes.

After spraying smell averting potion, Arvin took out his sleeping mattress and took a long nap. Arvin was tired from the s*x. So he thought before checking out his loot he should first take a good and long nap. Only then he would come in the right mindset to think about what he should do in the future.

After taking a long 10-hour nap, Arvin woke up. He was hungry so he ate some leftover jerky. He stretched his body a little bit. Then he started sorting out his things…

The stacks of paper that Arvin got from the vault were useless to him. They were some sort of account books. There were some contracts or at least what looked like to be the contracts. But there was nothing noteworthy about those stacks of papers. Therefore Arvin threw those papers at the corner of the cave.

Then he started sorting jewelry, that he found. That included that red jewel that he found in the box. He figured that he would just sell these things at a later date. So he put all the jewelry on a cloth. Then he made a sack out of the cloth and put it in his inventory. Then Arvin took out a book that said… The History of Fennec Foxes… on its cover. Arvin opened the book and started reading it.

Arvin spend the upcoming two days sleeping, reading, and eating. And after reading few books about the Fennec Foxes Arvin understood how their society functions and the intricacies of their society. And from what he had read he also got to know who was the black fennec fox.

That black fennec fox must be the city lord of this city. But what puzzled Arvin was why the hell did she killed those couple for a jewel? From what he knew in this world, money was important and it was not important than resources. From his point of view, the city lord killed an old couple and their household because a jewel is a very absurd thing.

Arvin could not feel any mana from the jewel. So it was obvious that this is not a cultivation resource. Then what the hell is that thing?

As the second day passed by, Arvin decided that it would be for the best if he leave this city. For that, he needed to find a bird that could travel very long distances in the hot desert without any problem. Because of that Arvin decided that he would go to the city's bazaar or market and buy a bird there. Then he would leave this city as soon as possible.

Arvin then transforms himself in the form of Terumi. He then changed his hair color to yellowish blond and made ears and tail come out. Finally, a fennec fox version of Terumi appeared in the cave. He took out some simple woman's clothes that he stole from a servant's quarter. Now fully dressed and disguised Arvin started going towards the city bazaar.

Disguised Arvin went on a shopping spree. He brought some tenting equipment as well as he bought some spices that would come in handy when he would cook food later on. He found a bird that could sore through the hot sky of the desert without any problem.

The bird that he found was very similar to Steppe Eagle found back on earth. It was big 3 feet long. All of its feathers were of brown color. It had a yellow beak with a black tip. It had very pointy claws that could tear flesh into a small pieces. While the shopkeeper said that these types of eagles have very good eyesight. They could notice and see minute changes in the desert which help them to hunt small animals.

Arvin was satisfied with the bird. He just needs a drop of blood from the bird. So after taking a drop of blood, he set the bird free. Arvin also managed to find out where this city was located according to his map. From this Arvin knew exactly where he needed to go next…

Arvin was about to leave the bazaar 1and head to another city, it was then he heard it…

BOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWW

A very loud horn from the south. Arvin was new to the city so he didn't know what does that horn meant. But as soon as that horn went off the people of the bazaar stopped whatever they were doing and started looking towards the south…

BOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWW

Another horn was blown from the south. As soon as two horns were blown everyone in the city tensed up. The side stalls started packing up their stuff and started closing their shops. So did all the shopkeepers of the bazaar. Arvin looked at the tensed faces of the people and understood that this horn didn't mean something good.

The whole bazaar started buzzing with activity. Everyone started walking hurriedly. Arvin saw the guards of the city started running towards the south. Arvin thought that maybe he should go and check it out himself that what had happened. Arvin also started walking towards the south. But as he was walking…

BOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWW

Another horn sounded. But this time the horn sounded from the north. As the sound of the horn came from north everyone started panicking. Chaos was set loose in the whole bazaar. Arvin then started heading towards the nearest alley from where he could transform into the eagle and soar through the skies.

While he was heading there another horn went off from the north…

BOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWW

After searching for a minute or two Arvin finally found a secluded alley. There he started getting naked quickly. He then threw his dress inside his inventory. Then he transformed into a Steppe Eagle and started flying high in the sky.

He had to give it to this eagle form. This was way more stronger than Corgan. The speed from which Arvin increased his altitude left him flabbergasted. And the vision of this eagle was on another level too. Arvin was able to see what was happening down on the ground. After the fly, this form was way more useful to Arvin…

Arvin then without any delay started flying south. It was then he understood what those horns represented. On the south just a few kilometers south of the rocky mountain, Arvin could see a large swarm of people heading this way. Seeing those large numbers understood what was happening….

The Nekota city is being raided by two armies from north and south.

Arvin could easily run away from here. But he decided to stick around a little bit. He had never seen a battle before. And he would like to witness it personally. Or he should maybe kill one of the generals and take his place…

But most importantly Arvin wanted to stick around because of what happened two days ago. He didn't know why but he was having a gut feeling that maybe the murder of those old couples and this army invasion was connected somehow. It was a very farfetched theory with nothing to back it up. But his gut feeling has never proved him wrong. So he was ready to play one more gamble.

In the study of Gracie's estate, Gracie was sitting at her desk while few people were standing in front of her. They were all high-level warriors and officials of the Nekota city…

"What is the situation?" Gracie asked.

"Both the armies had made a camp 5 Km away from the Nekota mountains. There had been no messengers from their side so far. Our signals to initiate the talk had been ignored." One of the woman warriors said.

To initiate a talking signal to the other party by one starts reflecting the mirror towards the enemy. This is a standard procedure used on the second and third floors. But as the armies have failed to return to call that meant that they are neither here to talk nor here to negotiate. This meant there are here for war…

"Did someone recognized the army logo?" Gracie asked.

"We have recognized the armies. The army on the south belongs to Shabari Clan while in the north is Hari Clan. Both of these clans have ties with the Aurora Clan on the third floor." One of the female warriors said.

"Alright… We can't win a war on two fronts. But still, we need to prepare for battle. Send the letter of help to other fennec fox's cities on the second floor. And keep trying to get them to talk. Because if those two armies are coordinating together then we are doomed." Claire said.
