Solo Player Arvin Chapter 106

Seeing the fight that was being waged near the Summerfell mansion, Arvin knew that it would be foolish to stay here and try to grab a guy from this place. There were four people here that were far beyond what he could handle. So he won't be getting any information from here. But then he had an idea. That idea was sort of a gamble but it was the best thing that he could think of right now.
Arvin then started flying away from the mansion. He let those men fight each and other, while he started flying towards the only other person that could help him to get information about this stone. And that person was the black fennec fox herself.
Arvin started flying towards the northern front of the war. It took him about 2 mins to get there. There he found out that the rocky mountains in the norther side were destroyed by the ballista. But in the distance, he could see 5 large fires. And when he looked closely he saw that those large fires were 5 large ballistae.
This meant that the black fox had destroyed all the ballista. And down below Arvin could see that the army on the north was retreating while some part of the fennec fox's troops army was chasing them. Some of the soldiers were making their way towards the southern side of the battlefront. He also saw the black fennec fox.
She was on a peak of the mountain with two other female foxes. The other two female foxes were very strong. They were still lacking if compared to Arvin, but their duo could make up for their lack of strength individually. Arvin saw them standing there and gazing at the retreating army, and thought that this might be the best time to start his gamble.
…
"Lord Gracie, according to your orders we have sent the remaining men towards the south. But I am afraid that southern part had sustained a lot of damage if compared to the northern front." One of the female guards said.
"This was a very tedious war. We had to make some little sacrifices for the greater good." Lord Gracie" said.
"Hmm" both the guards mumbled simultaneously.
"*cough cough*" came a voice from behind.
Hearing the coughing from behind, the trio which was relaxed just a second ago tensed up. They turned around and took out their respective weapon. Behind them, they saw that a human had sneaked behind them. This human was wearing black color battle gear with a golden skull face mask on his face. The most terrifying thing about this man was his golden serpent-like eyes. It was very terrifying. The trio tried hard to look through that man's power but surprisingly they were not able to do so.

That man then looked at the trio and raised both of his hands, signifying that does not have any weapon with him…
"Woah Woah… Easy there. I am not here to hurt anyone. I am just here to talk" The man said in a very deep voice.
"Identify yourself human!" The black fennec fox shouted. To this, the man in question took off the hoodie that he was wearing. And as he did that, two long black color ears similar to that of fennec foxes appeared on his head.
Seeing the black color hair and those ears, the trio was shocked. He was a fennec fox. The surprising part about this one was that he was a leader of a clan or a tribe while also he was 6feet and 2 inches long. That man was like a freak of their community. But why Gracie and the other guards had not heard of it?
"Who are you? Don't you know it is rude to sneak in the other clan or tribe's territory without permission?" Gracie said.
"Well, people say I am a very rude person. And I don't time for your chit-chat. I have to go somewhere very important. Here take this." The man said while tossing a mana stone to Gracie. After catching the mana stone Gracie was bewildered as to why this man was giving her this stone?
"Why are you giving me this?" Gracie asked.
"Its compensation. This is how we work." That man said.
"Compensation for what exactly?" Gracie asked.
"Well, we made a deal with a female fox inside the city. According to the deal, she would give us what we want while I have to save the city that she grew up in. But it seems that she underestimated the leader of this city… Anyhow, the deal was already struck. So as we did not defeat the army, you did that stone is compensation for that." the man said.
"You really want me to believe that?" Gracie asked sarcastically.
"It is up to you whether you want to believe me or not. I don't care what you think. I am just here to give you that stone. And that is it." The man said.
"You must have traded something very valuable for which you were willing to give me mana stone for," Gracie said.

"Oh, it is very valuable." The man said.
"So can you at least tell the name of the female with which you struck the deal? At least I would be able to thanks her for her service for the city." Gracie said.
"No, I am afraid that I can't tell you my client's detail. It is against our organization's rule." The man said.
"And which organization would that be?" Gracie asked.
"I don't think that you would have heard of us. People on the lower floor hardly have any idea about us. But since you are this pretty I will tell you. I work the Merchant." The man said.
"The Merchant?" Gracie asked.
"Yes. The Merchant…" the man said.
"Thanks for the stone by the way," Gracie said. She wanted this man to be gone from her as soon as she can. She could not sense any mana from him nor she was able to tell about the power that this possessed.
"I should be thanking you. You were the one the led us here." The man said.
"I led you here?" Gracie asked.
"Yes. It was because of you that we were able to find the red jewel or otherwise we didn't have any idea about where it was." The man said.
As soon as he said the red jewel, Gracie instantly knew what this man was talking about. She instantly weaved a magic circle and pointed it towards the man.
"Tell me one good reason that I should not fire this circle on your face?" Gracie said.
"Boys and girls… Relax. You know that she is an ant in front of me. Why are you guys getting riled up for?" the man said.
Hearing this Gracie was confused about what was this man saying. But it was then she noticed it. There were around 7 people all around her and her guards. Two were on the peak on the left while three were on the right while the rest were on the peak behind her. They all were wearing black clothes so it was impossible to judge the strength of these men.
Seeing that these men were able to sneak up to her and her guards without even being notices by her meant that they were certainly very dangerous individuals. And she could not afford to fight them here. Because they would tear her apart…
"You what that stone is right? Do you know that it is the key to our sacred temple? It is the key to El Dorado. As fennec fox shouldn't you hand that key over to scared council?" Gracie said.
"Girl I have only one master. That is the Merchant himself. I don't serve anyone but just him. And as he had requested the key I would deliver to him no one could stop me." The man said.
"But…" Gracie tried to say something but she was interrupted in middle…
"My name is Bakemono… There are not a lot of people in this world that have dared to point a weapon or a magic circle at me and were left alive to tell the tale… Consider yourself lucky and have a good night…" the man said.
Then the man jumped down from the cliff behind him and vanished. All the men that were surrounding Gracie and her two guards also vanished with him…
…..
'El Dorado? That is just lazy writing from you gods' Arvin said while he was flying back to the safe house in the city.
{So what? We gods took a myth from your world and copy-pasted it here. A lot of people do that.} Loki said.
'Yeah… We call it plagiarism back on earth.' Arvin said.
{So do you know anything about plagiarism,… I mean about El Dorado.} Loki asked.
'Well, I know what it is and what it meant.' Arvin said.
{Good. Because that might give us some clues about where that temple would be.} Loki said.
