Solo Player Arvin Chapter 108

When Arvin landed at the dry wind city at night he looked at clothes that were worn by the bystanders and based on that he cast an illusion of himself. But he still faced a problem. He still didn't have any suitable clothes that he could wear in the city. That meant that he had to go shopping for clothes.
That is why when Arvin woke up, the first thing he went for was clothes. Without having any breakfast or anything, Arvin cast illusionary clothes on himself. Then he went to the nearest market to buy some clothes.
Like most of the pedestrians of the city, Arvin brought a white turban with a white full-sleeved light shirt with white pajamas. After getting the clothes, Arvin went to a secluded alley and first wore the clothes. It was then he started exploring the city.
The dry wind city was one of the important trade centers on the 2nd floor. Arvin roamed around the market and soon found out why this town is so prosperous. It was because of water. In the desert, one can find easily and even he/she didn't then a person can survive a week or two without food. But without water, it was hard to stay alive for a maximum of 3 days.
That is why water was very important. But due to the lack of water resources in the desert, people on the 2nd floor had found a way from which they could find water. And that was with the help of humans….
Usually, there were a very small amount of people that could come from the 1st floor to the second floor. But with the arrival of earthlings that changed. With their monstrous potential, they were able to come to the second floor easily. From this, someone figured out that they could hire earthling to go back to the 1st floor and bring water here. With the spatial items, this task is done pretty easily. But still, water was very costly here.
This made Arvin curious…
'Say Loki… You say that this is the second floor. Does that mean that all the floors are just plains lying one above the other?' Arvin asked.
{Yes. One could visit the end or edge of the floor if they start traveling in any direction.} Loki said.
'What is beyond the edge?' Arvin asked

{Cosmos… Or in simple language space.} Loki said.
'Space?' Arvin asked
{Yes. } Loki said.
'Cool…' Arvin said.
Arvin roamed around the city and finally returned back to the inn. He had decided that it would be better for him to cultivate a little bit. He was not able to concentrate on cultivation for many days. Thus now it would be a good idea to meditate a little and increase his level a little bit…
….
Arvin had given that black fennec fox one of the mana stones that he got. Thus he was left with 9 mana stones. Within the span of seven days, Arvin meditated none stop. He would take rest from time to time to sleep, eat, shit and then he would go back to his meditation. Thus after 7 days, Arvin was left with 3 mana stones.
Arvin was astonished by the fact that he was able to use this many mana stones. According to Loki as he increased his level and increase his cultivation the number of mana stones that he needed would increase in number. Arvin understood that what Loki was trying to say but the sheer amount of mana stones that he used was still astonishing. Because if this goes on then he would need a very large amount of mana stone in the future to increase his level.
According to Loki, Arvin had reached the periphery of peak level-1 Acolyte with the meditation sessions of the past few days. Thus he encouraged him to go out there and try to cast a magic circle. To walk in the path of magus, one had to increase the proficiency in runes and magic circles simultaneously with mana. If someone manages to lack in one of the components then that person would not be able to become a good magus in the future.
Arvin was swiftly able to increase his mana capacity with mana stones. But he was still lacking when it comes to casting a magic circle or working with rune formation. So Loki had decided that for a few days he would just practice on magic circle and runes. So that his fighting power could increase at the same pace as his mana.
…
For the past few days, Arvin had been staying in the same inn. It was a very cheap inn but it did the job. But the food of the inn was pretty decent so that was a plus point. For the past 7 days, Arvin would come down from his room at a fixed time. He would eat his share of food and then go back to the room.

Arvin also befriended a waitress at this inn. He didn't know her by her name. But Arvin always pays her bronze coins as a tip. That is why that waitress always makes sure to reserve a spot for him when he comes down. She would always clean his table squeaky clean and would also pay extra attention to Arvin whenever he comes down.
That waitress wears a typical blouse to cover her breast while she wears pajamas down at the bottom. Arvin had noticed that since the day that he had started giving her tips she would open the top buttons of her blouse to showcase her ample bosom…
"These are some good kababs…" Arvin said while eating kababs that was served by the waitress at this inn. Right now Arvin was in the form of the cruel middle-aged man.
"Thank you for the compliment sir." The waitress said.
"Which reminds me I forgot to ask your name… What is your name lady?" Arvin asked.
"My name is Rakael." The waitress said.
"You are pretty and behind that pretty exterior, I think that you are a smart girl. So are you a smart girl Rakael?" Arvin asked
"I think so," Rakael said.
"Rakael as you know, I am new to this town. And I am currently searching for a person that could give all sorts of information about this city… Can you point me in the direction of such a smart person?" Arvin said while putting 5 bronze coins on the table. Rakael saw those coins and snatched them and discreetly put them in her bosom.
"How can be of assistance sir?" Rakael asked.
"Good. First I need to find a source of income. Is there a beast hunting ground or that sort of thing nearby?" Arvin asked.
"I heard from a friend that there is a nest of ground scorpions near the city. Apparently, the city lord is gathering some men to subjugate them entirely." Rakael said.
"Interesting…" Arvin said.
"And second thing I wanted to know whether there is a magus in the city?" Arvin asked.
"I have heard that city lord's daughter is a magus," Rakael said.
"Excellent," Arvin said. Then he slid in 5 more bronze coins on the table.
"Will there be anything else my lord?" Rakael asked.
"Lord? I am no Lord. My name is Raul." Arvin said.
"Apologies sir Raul." Rakael said.
"Don't worry I don't mind… By the way, when do you get free from your sift?" Arvin asked.
"In a few minutes…" Rakael said.
"If you want to earn some extra coin come to my room within the next 10 minutes," Arvin said.
"Sir… I ….. I am married." Rakael said.
"So? I am not forcing you. I said that if you want to come. As far as your marriage is a concern, there is the reason why you open the top buttons of your blouse when serving me." Arvin said.
"I.. I" Rakael hesitated."
"Come if you want to. And I pay extra if you bring some extra hands," Arvin said. Then he got from his table and started walking to his room.
If anyone would have heard Arvin's comments right now, they would have tagged him as a pervert. In a way it was right. Since the day he engaged in coitus with Aria, he had been looking for a way to pent out his sexual desire somewhere else. And thus Rakael comes into play.
While talking to her, Arvin may have sounded like a confident man. But the truth was that his heart was beating way faster than that of a rat. He had never talked to a woman like that before. This was his first time. That is why he was feeling a little nervous when talking to her. But as he figured that he was in his disguise he could talk to whomever he wants and however he wants, he relaxed a little bit…
Arvin patiently waited for 10 min after he got to his room. And soon enough the gate of his room was knocked. Arvin got up and opened the room. And out there he found Rakael with two of her busty friends…

Synergy
Dear Inspector, Please accept this letter as my formal resignation from being a Player. Hey! Laugh all you want, but I had to try. With no rules down here, who's to say that I can't resign? Anyway, my reasons are simple: I'm neither a gamer nor a hero. You got the wrong person for the job. Sure, the pay is decent and I could pretty much live like a king if, you know, I wasn't so busy trying to survive. I have major concerns about the demonic dagger bound to my soul too. Come to think of it, I've never asked to be transported to this fantasy land either and would like you to return me home, thank you very much. I don't want supernatural powers, I don't want to complete quests after quests, and I don't want to be your test subject anymore. What? I'm not whining, you're whining. Stop making excuses and let me leave already. Thank you for your understanding, and I hope you'll find a better replacement after I'm gone for good. Sincerely,Randel, the Mad Painter What to expect from Synergy: --> Some GameLit elements are presented subversively. If you want the protagonist to “play the game” properly, this might not be the story for you.--> No filler chapters; the story's structure is already plotted out. It's going to have six story arcs.--> Character development happens slowly, over many chapters. Don't expect a perfect protagonist right off the bat.--> Some romance, but it will never be the main focus.--> Humor and dark elements in equal measure, but not to the extent that I’d label this story as “Comedy” or “Grimdark”. ... and lots and lots of Author's Notes. See you on the other side of the portal!

Tales of Ordinary, Completely Unremarkable Contractors
"Where life had no value, death, sometimes, had its price. That is why the mercenaries appeared." - Artur Xerxes, in A Century of Disappointment: Memoirs of a Travelling Dwarf It's never too difficult to land contracts for a set very specialised skills in a continent teeming with werewolves, vampires, giant leopards, undead and, god forbid, elves. The difficulty comes when these contractors find themselves suffocated in the dense atmosphere of this world's rigid - and mostly unfair - rules; death, suffering and misfortune await those unwilling to sacrifice to bend these in their favour. In this non-linear plot, you will observe a scarred and deformed farm girl cashing her first bounty posters, a seemingly ordinary barmaid at a tavern in the bustling centre of a sprawling, corrupt city and an enigmatic leader of a firm specialising in dealings any other would consider suicidal. Watch them all take everything to the next level at every available opportunity, and then feel dread at the thought that this still might not be enough to halt the physical embodiment of doom about to do what it does best Please, feel free to review and comment! Any sort of feedback can help me become a better writer and write more engaging stories for you. I used to update once every 3-5 days, but this rewrite is taking much too long...I do hope it will be worth it.
