"I did tell you not to trust him."
Head pounding like a drum, you roll across the floor of the cage, Daedalus's voice piercing the fog inside of your mind. The voice sounding so muffled and weak, you wonder if the cloak could feel any pain? If so, you'd like nothing better than to strangle the damned thing in between your fingers for not only failing to detect the threat to your person but for being utterly useless, not that it had been entirely his fault. You should not have followed Ceeren back. It would have been so much wiser to avoid the werewolf campsite altogether until you'd learned more about how they'd come to be here, instead you'd gone in blind in search of answers and this was what you got in return.
Still the opportunity to study what the werewolves had learnt about the giants would have been difficult to pass up, but at least it hadn't all been for nothing. You'd discovered Balgrum the Bold ruled this part of the region, that the werewolves were outcasts shunned from Isles of Neeven, and that somehow Balgrum had found a way to coerce the werewolves into siding with him. Whoever this giant was, he seemed like a formidable opponent with intellect far beyond his kindred.
There also Ganrel to think about. It seemed odd that the werewolf would have kept you alive. He'd taken away your only means of defence, and no doubt tried to remove your cloak, but he had not killed you. Why, unless he meant to use you somehow? The giants did not care whether their meat was fresh or not, they killed for pleasure and to fill their enormous bellies. And the story Ganrel had told, suggested he too yearned for freedom. Could it be he hoped you would find someway to defeat the giant? No, it couldn't be that, even Ganrel would have seen you were in no condition to face a giant. Skilled as you were, it'd still take a small army to defeat a single giant, and that you did not have.

You sigh and gingerly pull yourself up to rest your back against the cage, your feet touching something in the darkness that shifted and rattled.
Mouth tight, you reach out a hand into the darkness and scrabble around the bottom of the cage, when your fingers connect with something smooth and long.
Swallowing back your fear, you pick up the object and bring it closer to the few cracks in the cage and almost drop it back down, at the realisation you were holding a pale white bone with bits of flesh still hanging off of it. Daedalus shudders at the back of your mind. "I think it may be best if we do not linger here long."
You would have nodded your head in agreement to the suggestion but your anger at Daedalus' failure to warn you, runs hot through your veins. He might not of gotten you into this mess, but he could helped you avoid it all together. After all did he not say he would warn you of any danger?
Daedalus let out a dry laugh. "I'm afraid it is a bit more complicated than that, master. Ganrel, posed no life threatening danger to you, he simply wished to subdue you. This Balgrum on the other hand, it seems would have more carnivores intentions towards your person, so stop your sulking and get us out of here. I do not wish to be used as a giant's loincloth."
You can't help but smile at the image of Daedalus wrapped around the giant's waist, the cloak protesting indignantly at his misuse only to be ignored.
With that pleasant thought in mind, you stand back up on wobbly feet and begin feeling the cage around you for weak points, but unfortunately the thing is well made with several layers of thick wood in between you and freedom, that barely let in any light.

Still you supposed, you could try smashing your way out of here? Or maybe use magic to burn a hole through? But both had their drawbacks and could be time consuming, but what other choice did you have?

The Casual
Notice: On hiatus. *profanity tag added just in case a bit of swearing is required, but I'll try to keep it as profanity-lite as possible* RealWorldIII came with the motto "Bringing the imagination back into the gaming" with an innovative skill combination system that promises to create unique (see: not-actually-unique) characters tailored to each player's preferences (see: we-swear-it's-not-random) Alex is a random guy with the motto "Well... whatever" with a history of being at the top of the gaming scene (see: he was a kid back then) that after twenty years of working for daily necessities finds himself facing a tough dilemma: do I go back to being a corporate slave, or do I gain money by playing a game no questions asked? (see: not really a dilemma) The only question is, can an actual "casual", even if ex-pro, survive constantly playing a game? or will he end banging his head on the wall? The story will unfold mainly in-game, with little if any real life events happening.

Zeke Herald, Goblin Slayer
Zeke wakes up inside a small cavemouth, no memories or direction, just the will to live. Also, he's smack dab in the middle of a forest that's teeming with ugly little goblins. The only good goblin is one with a sword sticking out of it, as my father used to say. I tried to incorperate LitRPG elements. I'm only recently introduced to the genre, but I find it really fasinating! So intrigued I even started writing a little story expressing my joy of all things numerical! This story has a focus on hardwork and deliberate progression, no magical deus ex machinas here sorry.

System Supervillain
I was there when it happened. When the walls of reality came crashing down upon us. When everything changed. I was there. I watched it happen. There wasn’t anything I could do, of course. When two veritable demigods are fighting to the death, getting caught in between is a great way to end up very dead. Or worse. That’s when it happened. Raw time crashed with pure paradox, and the universe itself screamed in torment. Night turned to day turned to yesterday and tomorrow and blue and yellow and whale and petunia, and then it snapped back, all at once, with a thunderous roar that was not heard but felt. And then I saw the blue box for the first time. ------------ A System Apocalypse event happens in a world of superheroes, like you would see in the comic books. What happens when the world changes, and heroes and villains are now bound by a System that limits their powers? What will change, and what will remain the same? This story will incorporate Champions/HERO System 5th Edition rules. There will be dice rolls determining the action, and blue boxes with lots of crunchy numbers. If you're not down for that, there are plenty of other stories on this site that you'll like. But if that sounds fun to you, then welcome aboard, and I invite you to see what happens when someone becomes a System Supervillain.

Fabrication
Welcome to the Winter Sector. This is your first time here, isn’t it? Waking up in the lands of snow with little to no thoughts of your past must be rough. Don’t worry, you aren’t alone. The vast plains of snow hold dominant around here, little to no bumps to be seen, no hills or craters. A white desert. Mountain ranges can be seen from afar. A forest somewhere down a cliff. Rare caverns here and there. Also, structures can be found abandoned. Going through these white lands is dangerous alone, perhaps get yourself a guide, or hold a map and a compass. But no matter how better you traverse, the abstracted distance would never change. If you had the unlucky start of waking up here, then let’s hope you find someone to give you clothes and shelter. The is beyond survivable. Unlike the other sectors, the Winter Sector doesn’t care to make things easy for newcomers. There are going to be tons of questions, most of which would be unanswered until you reach the end of the road. Unnatural things, abnormal dreams, anomalous scenes. This isn’t the world you were born in. Though it might look it, it won’t act like it.
