Chapter 191: Face Slapping

Qiao Nian got up and was about to walk over when Cui Yan raised his hand and stopped her, “No need to come over . I’m not here for you . ”

He had made a mistake last time – he wasn’t about to do that again .

Just then, the smile on Qiao Nian and Qin Yongmei’s faces froze . Everyone else also froze as curiosity flooded them .

Qiao Nian had gotten 684 – a score higher than Ye Fan’s . If the Dean wasn’t here for her, then who was he here for?

Just as everyone was about to ask, Cui Yan began to walk towards Qiao Qing, much to everyone’s surprise .

When Cui Yan was close, he made a “hmm?” noise, “Are you having a coming of age party?”

Qiao Qing nodded, “Yes . ”

Cui Yan slapped his own forehead, “I’m so sorry . If I knew earlier, I would’ve came with a present . ”

Qiao Qing, “No need . ”

“Then, I’ll wish you a happy birthday!” Cui Yan smiled and then gestured at Jing He .

Jing He opened up his briefcase .

When the 50 rolled up cash bundles appeared, all the guests gasped . At the same time, they were confused as to what was going on .

Cui Yan then took over the acceptance letter from Jing He and looked over to Qiao Qing, “Young girl, here’s a $500,000 cash bonus . If you have any other demands, please vocalize them . UCC will do everything it can to fulfill them . I ask that you choose to attend UCC this year . ”

Cui Yan’s words caused chaos among the guests .

“***, what is going on?!”

“Could it be that Qiao Qing scored higher than Qiao Nian?”

“My god… the Dean personally came to hand her the acceptance letter . Plus, he’s giving away $500,000 in cash?!”

Amongst the clamorous gossips, someone shot out a question, “Wait, I am confused . UCC needs to incentive people to go to them? There’s no other university in the country that can compare . If the smart ones don’t go to UCC, where would they go?”

Cui Yan bitterly laughed at this, “Universities from this country cannot steal my people but that doesn’t mean schools abroad can’t . ”

Everyone was stunned by what he had said .

Cui Yan ignored them and asked Qiao Qing, “You must’ve gotten many phone calls these last few days from notable universities abroad . ”

Qiao Qing nodded .

Cui Yan immediately turned tense, “Qiao Qing, listen to me – if this isn’t enough cash, we can give you more . If you don’t want to live in a school residence, we can find a bachelor unit for you . I can even get you a place with a garden . ”

“Whatever you want, just speak . I just ask you to please choose UCC . ”

“What’s so good about those foreign schools? They are far away and you wouldn’t be able to see your family as often . Plus, the food abroad is hard to swallow . At UCC, we cook nutritious, delicious, and affordable meals at our dining halls . ”

“Also, though the foreign schools are ranked high, our professors are just as good as theirs . ”

Everyone watched as Cui Yan acted like a salesman and did his best to convince Qiao Qing how his school was the best in the world . All of the guests were dumbfounded by this scene .

Qin Yongmei, Qiao Nian, and Xu Yingying watched with blank expressions . They never snapped out of the shock they were feeling .

He Wanqing watched this as well with a jumbled expression . She had no idea what was going on .

Qiao Qing was exasperated by Cui Yan . She pinched her brows, “Enough . I get it . I will go to UCC . ”

“DEAL!” Cui Yan smiled like a blossoming flower, “You keep your promise! If you change your mind, I will die with my eyes open . ”

Qiao Qing, “…”

Everyone else, “…”

Mu Jinghang was laughing so hard drool was coming out, “Dean Cui sure is funny . But just what did my sister-in-law get for him to be this nervous?”
