Chapter 1299: Grateful That You Are Able To Come Back

Gu Mengmeng let Wabei hold her like a willful child hugging a toy that he had lost and then found . This type of embrace had none of the amorous vibes between a man and a woman . It was a panic arising from the loss of a friend, or even family member .

“Little shit, I am grateful that you were afraid of losing me . I am also grateful that you are able to come back… but, my waist is nearly breaking . Can you hug me more gently, for heaven’s sake?!”

Not only did Wabei not loosen his grip, he hugged her even more tightly as he laughed out loud . “Gently my ass! I will become the Snake King once I strangle you to death!”

“Get lost!” Gu Mengmeng gave Wabei such a hard smack that he couldn’t get up again after landing on the ground .

Wabei laid sprawled on the floor, twitching . He couldn’t even lift his face .

Gu Mengmeng felt rather sheepish . “Eh, are you having a fit?”

Wabei shook his head . He didn’t utter a word .

Gu Mengmeng squatted by him with some uncertainty . Worried, she reached out to prod Wabei . “Was I too heavy-handed? Eh, are you alright?”

“Get lost, stop bothering me . Let me lie here for awhile!”

Gu Mengmeng was stunned . Damn, he sounded like he was crying?

Pulling Wabei’s head up by his hair, Gu Mengmeng stared at him in shock . “Aiya little shit, you are actually crying!”

“I am not crying . Don’t malign me!” Since he had already been exposed, Wabei didn’t bother hiding his face again . He just reached out and pulled Gu Mengmeng back into his arms . “I thought I would never be able to quarrel with you again in this lifetime…”

Warmth flooded Gu Mengmeng’s heart . She returned Wabei’s hug and patted him gently on the back .

If he remained fearful of her forever, and had to hide whenever he saw her—of course he would never be able to quarrel with her again .

There are some relationships which were forged from fighting . Pinching each other every time they met . The more they pinched, the better the relationship became .

And this type of relationship was called Wabei and Gu Mengmeng .

Wabei started feeling rather awkward after he finally calmed down . He had lived for 800 years in the Beast World and held a reputation as fearsome as Snakel’s—but he was “beaten” to tears by this female…

Wabei jumped up and dashed toward Elvis . “Little wolf pup, I heard that you became a Beast King . Come spar with me to loosen my joints a little . ”

Elvis waved . The ever-present wild wolves suppressed their growls as they took two steps back, even as they maintained their attacking stance . They stared steadfastly at Wabei, vigilantly monitoring his every move .

Elvis lifted Gu Mengmeng . “I can’t fight you now . ”

“Why?” Wabei was very displeased .

Elvis brushed the stray hairs from Gu Mengmeng’s forehead . “Xiao Meng will be upset if I accidentally kill you . I will not do anything that will upset Xiao Meng . ”

Wabei narrowed his eyes and flashed his fangs .

He was being dismissed by that little wolf pup, right? Right?!

With all his might, he whipped his snake tail toward Elvis .

Elvis easily dodged it . Without any trace of anger, he said in a mild tone, “That wooden barrel over there contains wine brewed by Xiao Meng . She will fly into a rage if you smash it . ”

Wabei’s tail came to a screeching halt right before that barrel . He turned with a cold smile . “Fight with me or I will destroy this lousy pail . ”

Elvis gave a low laugh . “I don’t really care . If you destroy it, the next time I see Snakel, I will just tell him that you have been bullying Xiao Meng . ”
