Chapter 1343: Love of the Sky

Gu Mengmeng thought for a while and realized Gregory’s words made sense, so without saying anything, she nodded and agreed .

Then she asked, “When can you bring us to get the Love of the Sky?”

Gregory slowly breathed out and said, “Dry season . ”

During the dry season, the beast was suffering due to insufficient water and continuously killed other orcs so that their blood would quench its thirst . But in the later period of the dry season, it bit an orc to death but could not even suck out any blood from it . Seeing that the beast was going to die, the bird flew down from Motou Mountains with ice to deliver it to the beast but the ice melted before reaching the foot of the mountain . When it reached the beast, there was not even a drop of water left . ”

“As it watched the beast slowly weaken, the bird could not bear to see it die, so it brought the beast to the Motou Mountains by disregarding its tribe’s rules . The ice melted into water and nourished the beast’s dried up body but it also made its heart run cold . It bared its sharp teeth in front of the bird and said… Since you love me so much, you wouldn’t bear to watch me die of hunger on this mountain right?”

Gu Mengmeng’s face twitched and thought to herself, isn’t this a story between a farmer and a snake? Such a beautiful story, yet why did it become so dark and twisted?

Gregory continued, “The bird was heartbroken . While tearing up, it said, I have wasted my sincerity on the wrong person . If you want to eat me, you can . But the beast did not really want to harm the bird . The reason it said that was because others told it that the bird had violated its tribe’s rules to bring itself up into the mountains and would be punished by the deities . The only solution is to personally kill the beast to show its sincerity to repent . The beast knew that the bird would not be able to do it so it pretended to be cold-hearted to agitate the bird . And all this was a test by the members of the Bird tribe, to see whether its feelings for the bird was true and whether the bird can entrust its life . ”

Gu Mengmeng felt that she had just heard a dramatic story and her face was already out of control .

Gregory took notice of every reaction that Gu Mengmeng made . The subtle change in her expression was so true to life, full of energy and really adorable .

Gregory did not dare to reveal too much emotion and forced himself to look to the side as he continued speaking, “The beast passed the test of the bird tribe and could remain on Motou Mountains with the bird . But… there are many cliffs on Motou Mountains . Without wings, the beast lived as though it was in prison . The bird was unwilling for him to suffer and suggested leaving with the beast . But Motou Mountains had a treasure that all beasts desired . So long as the bird left the mountains, it could be used to steal the treasure, so…”

Gregory’s eyes dimmed and he turned back to say to Gu Mengmeng, “If the bird wants to leave, it has to leave behind its wings . ”

Gu Mengmeng covered her mouth in shock . Wasn’t this the same as cutting off the arms of a person? It was too cruel .

Gregory continued, “For the beast’s freedom, the bird personally broke its wings… And that pair of wings is the Love of the Sky . ”
