Chapter 1370: I Will Be The Scapegoat
Cole smiled bitterly at Gu Mengmeng’s expression . He stroked his own hair helplessly . “Little Xuan was right after all… you would never believe my words . Little Xuan is carrying out the same tricks I previously used on you and using them better and more viciously… it seems like the student has surpassed the teacher . Never mind, I will be the scapegoat then . Just take it that I snatched the Soul of the Forest and forced him to the brink of danger . However, now that I have him secured, will this negate my crimes?”
“Give me back my son . ” Gu Mengmeng stated coldly .
Cole smiled . “Ah Gu, are you able to take care of them if I return them all to you? I heard that you are going to the Motou mountain range to get the Love of the Sky during the drought season . Thereafter, you are going to bear some offspring for my ninth brother . With such a hectic schedule, do you still have time to take care of Little Xuan?”
Gu Mengmeng replied with a stony face, “Is that any of your business?”
Cole remained kneeling as he gazed up at Gu Mengmeng . “Ah Gu, of course I must protect your weak spot so that no one can threaten you with it . ”
Gu Mengmeng said, “In the entire Beast World, only you would dare to use my son against me . ”
Cole nodded with a smile, looking as honored as if he had been awarded with the Best Citizen prize . “Others may make use of your weak spot to take advantage of you or harm you . But for me, I am using him to guide you onto the correct path . ”
Gu Mengmeng replied, “You and I hold different goals and your so-called correct path is definitely not the one I want to head down . ”

With that, Gu Mengmeng handed Lea over to Elvis before walking to Cole’s side . She squatted down and eyed him . “You had the guts to wait for me here because you feel you are already a Beast King and have no need to fear me anymore, right?”
Cole kept quiet as he gazed joyfully at Gu Mengmeng . This was one of the rare times when she had approached him on her own accord .
Gu Mengmeng continued . “But don’t you forget . Even though you are a Beast King, you are still a stray beast . And it just happens that I somehow became the Stray Beast King . So you should be afraid of me… you should have hidden in the gutters like before . You should have fled the moment you detected my scent in the air . That way, you might have preserved your cheap, little life . Because I am not someone you can afford to provoke . ”
At that, Gu Mengmeng drove her fingers into Cole’s right chest, exactly where she had previously dug a deep indentation . Gu Mengmeng knew the Soul of the Forest was there .
Her palm entered Cole’s chest and rummaged around the blood and flesh until she felt the Soul of the Forest . Gu Mengmeng didn’t pull it out but just smiled coldly . “Give me back my son and I will let you continue being a Beast King . Otherwise… ha, I wonder what will happen to a person who fell off his high pedestal?”
“Alright, I will return him to you . ” Cole withstood the intense pain as he maintained his heinous smile at Gu Mengmeng .
Gu Mengmeng retrieved her hand before walking back to Lea’s side . She turned and looked scornfully at Cole . “Also, I don’t like others flaunting their Beast King status in front of my men . Don’t forget that you still exist beneath my feet . ”
Cole understood Gu Mengmeng’s meaning . He gave a faint smile at Lea, after which Lea felt his strength gradually return to his body . He wriggled his wrists before gently tugging at Gu Mengmeng’s forearm, pulling her into his lap .
