Chapter 2329: Two Doomsday Insignias!

“This place is no longer safe, so I will be leaving here soon. You should do so as well. I sense that Heaven wants to kill you even more than me. He won’t let you go.”

As Luo Supreme spoke, he glanced up at the sky. The black fissure was growing ever larger, and the dimension was accelerating toward collapse—a fact that made him sigh in sorrow.

He had spent thousands of years on this dimension. Just setting down the Decalight Universal Dampening Formation had cost him nearly ten thousand years. But it was now all ruined. How could he not feel a tinge of sorrow?

“In addition, I don’t need these things anymore, so I might as well give them to you as a parting gift, a reward for helping me deal with Heaven this time.”

As Luo Supreme spoke, he reached his hand out, and a Halo of Spacetime appeared.

Luo Supreme’s hand reached into the halo and quickly emerged with two red-black objects that looked like they were made of lava. The moment these two objects appeared, two unique ripples of law energy appeared, and Wang Chong paled.

He could sense that the Primal Insignia in his body was intensely resonating with these objects.

“Doomsday Insignias!”

Wang Chong’s heart trembled in realization.

Though he had not seen the other Doomsday Insignias, he could immediately tell that these were the two Doomsday Insignias that Heaven had sought to seize from Luo Supreme.

“This…”

Wang Chong looked in a daze at Luo Supreme. Though he had thought about trying to get the two Doomsday Insignias from Luo Supreme, or at least make sure Heaven didn’t get them, Wang Chong had not expected Luo Supreme to hand them over so easily.

“Heh, what are you so surprised about? I only took away those two Doomsday Insignias out of fear that Heaven would collect them all and actually break out of his seal. But now that you are here, there’s no need to worry. Although our standpoints are different, I trust that if it’s you, you won’t let Heaven succeed!”

As Luo Supreme spoke, his face was relaxed and leisurely, like a great burden had been lifted off his shoulders.

These two Doomsday Insignias were weapons, but they were also a lurking danger. Most importantly, he no longer had the ability to protect them.

The dimension had been torn open and the Decalight Universal Dampening Formation no longer existed. He had nothing left that could stop Heaven.

After a few moments of silence, Wang Chong took the two Doomsday Insignias from Luo Supreme. “Many thanks, Senior!”

Wang Chong carefully examined them. These Doomsday Insignias had an aura different from the Primal Insignia that the Sage Emperor had given him. One had a chaotic energy, and the other had an aura of decay.

Wang Chong didn’t know what these Doomsday Insignias signified, but with these two, he had at least reached his objective.

Without the two Doomsday Insignias, Heaven would be unable to further break out of the seal, and his avatars would not grow any stronger.

Wang Chong felt like he had been freed of a great burden.

“Special Event! User has gathered three Doomsday Insignias. Issuing impromptu gathering mission. User will obtain a reward if all seven Doomsday Insignias are collected, and one portion of the secrets concerning the apocalypse will be revealed.”

As the Stone of Destiny’s voice rang out in Wang Chong’s mind, the two Doomsday Insignias in his hand grew somewhat warm. In a flash, an invisible energy crept out from Wang Chong’s hands.

The two Doomsday Insignias, together with the Primal Insignia, disappeared into the Stone of Destiny.

This happened so abruptly that Wang Chong was struck dumb.

He clearly recalled the Stone of Destiny saying that after the war between the Great Tang and the other countries ended, it would not issue any more missions.

Seven Doomsday Insignias… What is going on here?

Wang Chong was dumbfounded, but even so, he knew that if the Stone of Destiny was suddenly issuing a mission, it had to have a reason.

“Stone of Destiny, I order in the name of the Archon of Destiny: explain what is going on here! What is the reward?”

Everything had a reason, and Wang Chong was gradually beginning to understand that if he used the power of the Archon of Destiny, he could obtain many more answers from the Stone of Destiny.

After a few moments of silence, the Stone of Destiny gave Wang Chong the answer he wanted.

“It is related to the World Consciousness… If user gathers all seven Doomsday Insignias, there is a possibility of opening a communication channel between user and the World Consciousness.”

It normally would have been impossible to receive even a partial answer before the completion of a mission. This was a special ability of the Archon of Destiny.

But the Stone of Destiny’s answer left Wang Chong astonished.

The World Consciousness!

This was Wang Chong’s mortal foe. He had been attacked by the World Consciousness numerous times, such as via the World Constraints, and that wasn’t even considering that the World Consciousness had helped An Lushan.

Wang Chong had never imagined that the seven Doomsday Insignias would be connected to the World Consciousness.

But if he could open a communication channel, perhaps he could have the World Consciousness understand him and get rid of any misunderstandings between them.

But Wang Chong quickly calmed down. This matter was not as simple as it seemed, and Wang Chong was certain that at least two of the Doomsday Insignias were in Heaven’s possession.

The difficulty of taking those Doomsday Insignias from Heaven was obvious.

Wang Chong quickly sorted out his thoughts and turned his gaze to Luo Supreme.

“Where does Senior plan to go?” Wang Chong asked.

“I also don’t know the answer to this question. Perhaps I will find some remote place in the deepest depths of spacetime, open up a small dimension, and hide inside it.”

Luo Supreme grinned and glanced at Alpha Supreme.

“After this battle, both of my bodies were badly damaged, and it will be some time until they recover. If possible, I would like for my original body to fully recover as well.”

Wang Chong nodded.

Every person had their own will, and though he had hoped that Luo Supreme would help him in the battle against Heaven, from the current situation, this didn’t seem likely in the short term.

“Many thanks, Senior!”

The collapse of the dimension was accelerating, so Wang Chong called over Li Xuantu and prepared to leave. On the other end, Luo Supreme gathered up his divine warriors and also made his preparations.

It was fated that they would come together, and it was fated that they would part. Though the two of them had worked together to beat back Heaven and Essence Supreme, in the end, they were mere acquaintances with little connection to each other. Now that the battle was over, it was only natural that they part.

“Wait!”

As Wang Chong stood in the spacetime passage and prepared to leave with Li Xuantu, Luo Supreme called out to Wang Chong.

“Before we part, let me give you another gift. While your three Divine Embryos possess outstanding talent, they are not fully developed. Two of them have yet to reach the Grotto Heaven realm.

“Origin Supreme gave you something, so I might as well give you something too.”

From several dozen feet away, Luo Supreme suddenly extended a finger. A hazy ball of light pulsing with Grotto Heaven energy shot out, and before Wang Chong could react, the ball entered his body.

After he did this, a dazzling light erupted from Luo Supreme’s body, and then a golden-black Halo of Spacetime instantly covered all of the divine warriors, upon which it flew into the massive black fissure in the sky.

“King of Foreign Lands, there’s no need to thank me. I’m just helping myself!

“Heaven, didn’t you want to kill me? I might as well make you an even stronger opponent, the one spoken of in the prophecy! I can’t wait to see how it turns out!”

That voice lingered in the dimension as Luo Supreme and his divine warriors vanished into space.

Wang Chong sent a part of his mind into the hazy ball of light, upon which he grimaced.

“Luo Supreme’s Grotto Heaven Core?”

Li Xuantu had walked over and now curiously looked at the ball.

Upon seeing Wang Chong nod, he paled.

“It’s a part of the Grotto Heaven Cores of both Alpha Supreme and Luo Supreme. In addition, it also contains all of Luo Supreme’s memories, the formulas for the Chaos Storm and the Beginning of Light and Shadow, and a True Qi Seed!” Wang Chong sternly said.

Luo Supreme had given Wang Chong almost everything. Though he had only given Wang Chong a fragment of his Grotto Heaven Core, it was just what Wang Chong needed.

Wang Chong’s Divine Embryo clones had long ago reached the half-step Grotto Heaven level, only one step away from a breakthrough. And these two Grotto Heaven Core fragments were exactly what they needed for that last step.

It was easy to see just how generous Luo Supreme’s parting gift had been.

Of course, Luo Supreme had his own aims with this gift, but it wasn’t important.

“Let’s go!”

Wang Chong took one last glance at that fissure in the sky before transforming into a streak of light with Li Xuantu and traveling into the passage. He had some more important things to do.

“Tanghulu! Tanghulu for sale!”

Warm tendrils of air curled their way through the streets of the capital of the Great Tang. A peddler holding a large stick on which many tanghulu had been skewered walked past stalls selling steamed buns and soup dumplings, and around him were other peddlers and people of the capital out shopping.

The vast capital had gathered together several million people, and it appeared just as bustling as ever.

Not long after the tanghulu peddler walked past, a white-clothed youth and middle-aged scholar emerged from a tea house on the side of the road.

These two were Wang Chong and Li Xuantu, back from their journey to the Turkic steppe.
