I'm putting The Good Student on hold until after Christmas. It's the one story giving me most problems and draining me to the point I'm really not enjoying writing it. It's also nowhere near its potential and I'd rather give it a proper break. I will come back to it (I'm too invested in it not to), but making myself miserable to hit self-imposed goals is just dumb. Apologies to those of you who only like this story.

I think it's pretty obvious it's a pale shadow of the first book. I think I rushed to get Book 2 out because people were waiting for it, but I can do a lot better than this and I need to take a break from it and write something I can be pleased with.
