《The Genesis System》The Post I Never Wanted To Make - Taking A Step Back

Hey guys,
I hope these past few weeks have been treating you well. You've probably noticed that the pace of posting this month has been really slow. There are a few reasons for this and I wanted to go over them with you all.
Work: I recently got moved/promoted to a different team within my company. It's a great move for my career but it has really cut into a huge chunk of my free time. I work in the international tax field and the government is still releasing large portions of revised regulations that keep me and my coworkers extremely busy. I'm also the new person on the team and learning hundreds of new things every day. It's a great learning experience but also mentally draining. As I was writing this message the IRS released new regulations and now I'm just going back to work after an 18 hour day and 4 hours of sleep.
Format: I've felt quite limited by the format of my posting schedule for the past two months or so. Writing the Genesis System has been a dream come true; I've wanted to write a story ever since I was a kid. But I think that, when combined with my current work schedule, I'm limited in the web-novel format. I have no time to edit and I feel like I miss things because of it. Plotlines or hints that I left in the past are dropped because I've forgotten about them and haven't had enough time to bring them back in. It's also hard because I've evolved so much as an author. I know so much more about writing but I can't go back and change all the mistakes I've made in the past.
Creativity: I have to admit, I've been struggling with creativity. I think I dug myself a hole in the progression format that I created at the beginning of the story. I also think my System has a lot of flaws when it comes to a written format. When combined with the mental exhaustion of working long hours, I'm just kind of chomping at the bit when it comes to current chapters.

Those are the main issues I'm dealing with and I wanted to keep all of you updated. But now we get to the part that I've been dreading.
Going forward, I plan on putting The Genesis System on hiatus.
I plan to continue writing but it will be based around my inconsistent schedule and will also include time required to edit. In order to do this, I plan on working on some other novel form for the next 6-8 months in the hopes of finishing a book, or at least making significant progress on it.
I want to thank you all for the support that you have given me. I started the Genesis System after passing my CPA and I had a few months before I started work. I'd read Ghosthound and thought, hey, I want to make something like that. The love and encouragement I received from all of you really made this whole experience something larger than life. I'm sorry if this is a disappointment to you all but I no longer have the time to consistenly post in the way that I think is neccesary for RRL.
Thank you all. Your support and love for my story made this an experience I'll never forget.

Synergy
Dear Inspector, Please accept this letter as my formal resignation from being a Player. Hey! Laugh all you want, but I had to try. With no rules down here, who's to say that I can't resign? Anyway, my reasons are simple: I'm neither a gamer nor a hero. You got the wrong person for the job. Sure, the pay is decent and I could pretty much live like a king if, you know, I wasn't so busy trying to survive. I have major concerns about the demonic dagger bound to my soul too. Come to think of it, I've never asked to be transported to this fantasy land either and would like you to return me home, thank you very much. I don't want supernatural powers, I don't want to complete quests after quests, and I don't want to be your test subject anymore. What? I'm not whining, you're whining. Stop making excuses and let me leave already. Thank you for your understanding, and I hope you'll find a better replacement after I'm gone for good. Sincerely,Randel, the Mad Painter What to expect from Synergy: --> Some GameLit elements are presented subversively. If you want the protagonist to “play the game” properly, this might not be the story for you.--> No filler chapters; the story's structure is already plotted out. It's going to have six story arcs.--> Character development happens slowly, over many chapters. Don't expect a perfect protagonist right off the bat.--> Some romance, but it will never be the main focus.--> Humor and dark elements in equal measure, but not to the extent that I’d label this story as “Comedy” or “Grimdark”. ... and lots and lots of Author's Notes. See you on the other side of the portal!

Arcane Regeneration
Transported to another world, with a system that lets you take your fate into your own hands. Inside a dungeon, who knows how far away from human civilization, where the only way out is through. Join Noah in his desperate struggle and find out what this new world has in store for him. I am REALLY bad at synopses. What I will aim for in my story: 1. Logical choices 2. Good character development ( first story, might mess it up :D ) 3. I have epic plans for the future (not an actual aim but just saying :D ) What I will avoid like the plague: 1. Characters' IQ suddenly dropping just to further the story. 2. Whimpy main character 3. Stupid situations that can be avoided by basic communication and clearing things up. All in all, no generic trash anime protagonist and stereotypes. [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]
