POV Narrator
In the vast open sky, hovering between heaven and earth, Natine floats silently; her deep emerald eyes piercing through the veil of clouds covering the world below, revealing its every secret. Like a celestial goddess, an absolute power flows freely from her; suppressing her surroundings.
“How many years has it been since I’ve begun my search?” She contemplates silently, a small frown forming on her perfect oval face. “I’ve looked through every part of the world countless times, yet I’m unable to find anything. I refuse to give up; this whole matter is clearly not as black and white as it first seemed, but I’ll get to the bottom of this mystery, one way or another.” She decides, a smile forming on her face, a hint of arrogance radiating from it.
On the planet below, from the endless oceans covering it, she feels a slight disturbance of elemental essence. Clearly powerful, but easily overlooked in comparison to the world around it. But Natine notices it; she’s been looking for anything suspicious and this is akin to a lit flare lighting up the sky.
“This power, it feels familiar. It’s somewhat like the power that I encountered all those years ago, but its strength is inferior by a whole level. Well, this is the best lead that I’ve received in a long time, so it can’t hurt to investigate further.” She mumbles to herself, firmly deciding on her course of actions.
Floating on the endless ocean’s surface, a huge humanoid-shaped island rests calmly on the blue waters. Its surface is covered with a vast green forest, with occasional mountain ranges littered in between. On closer inspection, other oddities can be seen on the island. Like a giant tree easily ten times the height of the surrounding forest and a white granite fortress with a divine garden surrounding it.

On the fortress’ bridge, Zohn’s eyes focus on Achous, trying to peer into his very being. Realising the tense atmosphere, a warm smile form on Zohn’s face, quickly reforming his usually calm, kind appearance.
“You, strange creature, it’s rare for us to get visitors… Who are you?” Zohn asks, his eyes still focused on Achous; his eyes betraying the warm smile on his face. Achous’ eyes flash with worry, he manages to stammer out a response, “Uhm, my name is Achous, I was an explorer who got stuck here because of the fog.”.
In complete silence, Zohn stares at Achous for a full minute. The worry in Achous’ heart grows stronger with each passing second. After the minute, Zohn breaks the silence with another question, his expression unchanging, “Did you plant this garden?”. “Ye… yes,” He manages to reply, his legs shaking slightly, unsure if he’s at fault here.
Suddenly, the smile on Zohn’s face expands, his eyes turning friendly in the prosses. From Zohn’s long white beard, he says “Thank you for the hard work, it looks absolutely beautiful. I know how hard it is to plant flowers and trees and I can tell the effort that you put into this. It must have taken quite a while, truly, thank you.”.
Achous is momentarily dumbstruck by the sudden change, a single thought runs through his mind, “He’s suddenly thanking me so genuinely, he seems really attached to this place, is he the so-called ‘champion?”.
“With that taken care of, on to the next person. You under the bridge, come out, hiding is pointless in front of me.” Zohn instructs calmly, his eyes still pointed at Achous. A small yip sounds from beneath the bridge. In a second, Aia’s body forms in the water, carefully making its way towards the river bank and finally onto the bridge next to Achous.

Zohn stares at her intently for a few seconds before finally speaking, “I can see the energy within you, you are a part of Col, unlike this winged fellow next to you; I can just imagine his expression when he wakes up and finds this… You and I aren’t that different; were both parts of something much greater, but each with our own unique role.”.
Zohn lets out a happy sigh as he continues, “This place has changed so much since I went to sleep, I can only imagine what the rest of it looks like; just the small precedent created here leaves me excited.” Zohn’s face emanates happiness, like an old man finding a new hobby.
“How rude of me, dear being, what’s your name?” Zohn asks, his voice filled with love and care. “My name is Aia, it's nice to meet you, great champi…” Before she can finish her introduction, Zohn suddenly looks up towards the sky.
Zohn’s expression undergoes a rapid transformation, seemingly reform from a kind smile to a deep glare. “Sorry, dear child, we seem to have an uninvited guest,” Zohn says, his gaze still fixed to the empty sky. “What guest?” Aia asks innocently, but before anyone answers her, an overwhelming power suddenly pushes down on the island.
“That would be me,” a voice suddenly answers. In the sky, Natine floats, her overwhelming presence radiating on the land below. “How strange, how come I’ve never noticed this place before?” She ponders as she observes the strange island below. The most shocking thing to her is that she can’t sense the island below. If she wasn’t personally observing it with her own eyes, then she wouldn’t have believed that there was an island here.
As quickly as it came, the pressure vanishes; Zohn’s power pushing back against it. With his eyes keenly locked onto Natine’s floating figure, Zohn roars in a voice filled with anger and hate, “Just who might you be to come here and try to harm Col?!”.

Ars Magica
Our vision comes back into focus. Our eyes, while being able to perceive the immediate surroundings, still leave us with our minds uncomprehending towards what is actually occurring. Sure, there are definitive things that we can focus on, like the fact that we're either out upon the open sea or the open ocean, there not being much of a difference with no land in sight, as well as the fact that we appear to be upon a haphazardly constructed metal boat, whose seams are barely able to keep a hold of themselves in the crashing waves. However, that does not let us understand what exactly is causing the waves in the first place. If we were to rewind time, we'd find ourselves upon a calm sea under a peaceful sky with the only difference, being a small whirlpool that would be the precursor towards this uproar around the boat. Lightning flashes in the sky, with no clouds being near, and anyone actually manning the boat has either died towards the cause of the smashing tides in the first place, or are fighting amongst the flashes of lightning, all while trying not to become devoured, demolished, and utterly decimated by the beast roiling in the whirling waves. To better understand exactly what is happening here, there is one singular event that needs to be understood, that needs to be explained, and that is the arrival of a creature named Dave. Stepping back from current events and going towards this creature's first appearance in the world, we begin to hear the sound of water slowly dripping across rocky ground. The cavern is utterly silent except for this one constant, its cause feeding channels downwards, sloping towards cracks in the rubble along the floor from broken stalagmites and stalactites. And there, lying on top of something which had fallen over recently, judging from its cracks, is a person, the creature named Dave. His form is fast asleep, either from the impact or from an intoxication, judging from the smell upon its breath. A bright light suffuses into it for a second, giving life towards the pale skin, before it slowly dies down back to the comfortable black of the cave that it's within. Before this moment in time, Dave did not exist in the physical world. At least, not in the reality that he finds himself born into. We do not know whether or not his existence is simply a cosmic joke, or something that is being played out on purpose. All that we do know, is that one moment, the body was not in the cave, and simply formed in the next. The actual earliest time that we know Dave exists, is the interpolation of the memories of J-209, which we'll begin looking into shortly to gain context towards the coming narrative that is being written and hastily trying to keep itself written. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Warning: This story has several things which might turn its readers away. The first is that this story has shifting points of perspective. Don't worry about that previous sentence too much though, as the main character will always have a first person perspective associated with them. However, any other character from which we're viewing the story from will either be in third-person, as we are not necessarily in their shoes at the moment, or in first person, given that the narrator is an actual physical presence within the story. For the most part, chapters will be self-contained with their perspectives, so there will not be an abundance of switching perspectives within the same chapter. The most that an average reader would have to worry about is the fact that perspectives can switch between chapters. The second thing is that the main character is a bit on the 'special' side of things. He's not exactly mentally there most of the time, so there will be some times that his personality or his thoughts do not actively align with his actions. The third, and final thing of importance, is the fact that past the first couple of chapters, nothing has been planned in advance. There are arcs and plots that I want to do, want to implement, or have already been set into motion from our main character's introduction to the world, but the method that I use for my story writing and generating leads towards a bit more random chance being enabled. Basically...there's a lot of dice rolling behind the scenes. To not complicate the story further than its regular LitRPG elements, the rolls will not be publicly available. However, there will be knowledge within the author's notes on whether or not there were positive or negative critical rolls that had occurred within the chapter. You have been warned. Updates: Mondays & Fridays (Schedule permitting) Typical Chapter Length: (2,000-3,000)

Major Xiomar Haydn is a damn good soldier, and an even better mechanic, although he does have a tendency to get himself thrown into the stockades for getting on the general's bad side. To keep him busy and out of trouble, Xiomar is assigned the task of repairing an old Mech that hasn't been touched in fifteen years. He knows he can fix it--he's Chief Mechanic. What he doesn't know, however, is that GLITCH has a mind of its own. Literally. In the midst of a war between two countries, Xiomar and his newly-repaired Mech are caught in the middle. The enemy is trying to obtain GLITCH's technology... the power to give their own Mechs sentience and dominate the world.
