The world has changed.

It’s subtle, though. Think of it as a flickering light in the breezeway, edging you towards the final destination. A creation only man could master, a lifestyle only monsters could desire, and a government only the elite could seek out.

You won’t realize it, though. On the surface level, everybody is happy. Smiling. Grabbing a bite to eat at a sky lounge, watching some cars fly by as the friendly city patrol walk by. They seem normal, too. They all do.

Behind the closed doors, down in the basement and hidden from the average bystander is an entirely new civilization within the confines of Chicago. The Elite meet to take grasp of your freewill, monitoring your every move and using it as a way to gain more power. Nothing is private. Everything is recorded.

It is easy to miss, even I missed it and I was well aware of the businesses running our congress far before the mass media did. Companies merged and became one, repeating this over the decades until there were only a few remaining giants making the shots. The President was a symbol, the corporations were the ones really deciding your fate.

In the midst of it all is a group that sought to fix it all. Deemed freaks by the corpos and criminals by everybody else. We didn’t want it to be that way, I didn’t want it to be that way. I only wanted to see a better tomorrow, not to see my closest friends and family be squashed by the boot of corporate greed.

If you’re reading this, just know two things: Everything is worse than it seems, and I need you to expose the men and women publicly trying to murder me. [W]e need to fix thing[S], or else I don’t think we’ll have a city to call our home anymore.
