Location unknown
Inside a ring of marble pillars, there is a circle divided into thirds. One part is white, one part black, and one part grey. Surrounding this circle are nine chairs, perfectly tailored for whoever wishes to claim them. Beyond the chairs lie rings of stadium seating, for those who wish to view the proceedings. Or for those who are too massive to get closer.
“I’LL SMITE THE ENTIRE CITY! GET OUT OF MY WAY!” Bellowed an aging man with a sun breaking over a plain upon his robes. In his rage, he glowed with an internal fury. He immediately froze as a skeletal hand slammed the butt of a scythe upon the ground three times.
“You will not interfere. Or my scythe will claim another divine life.” Green flames flared from within the hood of the figure, and the burning light of the angry man immediately died. A willowy feminine figure and a stout dwarf managed to drag him back to his seat. Satisfied, Thanatos took his seat in one of the three chairs on the grey portion of the circle.
“Calm yourself Pelor. This behavior is unbecoming of the divine.” The speaker was a woman with golden hair cut short. The result was incredibly tight curls that allowed her to keep a blindfold tied across her eyes. She was seated in the middle chair of the grey arch.
“And why are you not outraged Justice? He stole your eyes and used them to evolve!”
“I discarded them long ago, you know this. Besides, there is a difference between the spoils of war and common thievery.”
“War? WAR! NO WAR WAS DECLARED!”
“Oh?” A laughing voice from the side of Justice pealed out. A youthful looking man, possibly early in his twenties sat forward from his previously lounging pose. “Did you not privately declare a crusade amongst your followers, Pelor? Before you answer, remember my domain.”

“Why would the lord of Light do such a thing?” The elf asked.
“Because, Gaia, he is blinded about certain things.” The dwarf replied in a gruff voice.
“You knew of this?” The youth asked.
“Aye, I did Truth. After the innkeeper was slain in violation of hospitality laws.”
“Broke hospitality?!” Justice thundered, standing and summoning a fiery blade.
“Not on my orders!” Pelor hastily replied.
“Close.” Truth said. “You left ambiguity in your words on purpose, Pelor. The adventurers walked through the door you left open.”
“That doesn’t matter. I’m still going to smite them.” He replied. Before anyone could react, a deep chuckling came from the depths of the black area.
“Oh? And what makes you think that I will allow such folly?” A massive draconic head ringed with curved horns came into the light of the central clearing. “Of all my humanoid children, they are the closest to true dragons.”
“Tiamat.” The dwarf nodded to her respectfully. “You would defend them?”
“I know it isn’t normally my thing, but he intrigues me. He is bold. Lucky. He brings forth the chaos which I do so love. Plus, he still reaches higher.”
“He’s not done?” Pelor asked with wide eyes.
“Of course not. Though I don’t know his plans, anyone who has talked with him can see the fire burning within his eyes.” Lolth spoke up. She was the only one in the three black chairs. “And truly Pelor, do you believe yourself strong enough to battle both Tiamat and myself? Especially after your most recent blow.” She chuckled seductively.
“I’ll wipe you and your foul creations from this world.” He replied with a voice full of venom.
“Of course you will darling. Save your empty promises for your followers. All here can sense your weakened state. It must truly be hard, losing your main church, your pontiff, and that many priests all in the same night.”
“Enough.” Justice interrupted. “I’ll have words with you later about breaking hospitality, Pelor. As of now, I remind all here about the rules of interference. There will be no divine smiting.” A grumbling chorus of agreement accompanied her pronouncement, before the group moved on to other things.

Badass
At the end of everything, Taylor Hebert realized something. She didn't want to be a superhero. No, she wanted to be a badass. And then her prayers were answered. Imbued with the power of mimetic badassery and the ability to channel a different real-life badass every week, she set out in search for all the best things in life - well, according to Conan, at least. Modeling herself after Conan have been a mistake. Join her on her high-octane, pulp-fiction journey for vengeance, adventure, victory and mayhem. This isn't just uncensored. It's anti-censored! =========================== (Worm/Fate/Badass of the Week) Warning: crack-taken-seriously, over-the-top pulp-fiction style violence, overpowered protagonist, banned on two other sites. Hell, even the light-hearted omake jokes in this were considered too subversive to persist. ============================ AN: There’s this really, really excellent website called Badass of the Week. I’ve wasted many an hour browsing through, marveling at all the crazy shit some humans are capable of. Check it out, then come back and read this in a few days when the awesome starts to wear off. It’s worth it (all 576 entries). Back? Good! Anyways, I was looking through it recently while thinking about who I wanted to make expy’s of for my The Flying Dutchman quest ship captains (which now languishes in indefinite hiatus), and I had this idea. What if Taylor, wanting to be a badass, triggered with the power to be a different Badass every week? With a bit of Fate-style ability to draw on the tools associated with the legend (but to a just marginally less ridiculous degree), and a drive and aura to be and do badass? And thus, Badass was born in it’s somewhat cracky glory. Enjoy.

BODY&SHADOW
AN ILLUSTRATED NOVEL • UPDATES TUESDAY AND FRIDAY In a time before living memory, the King Dragon of the Void watched the world and realized there was a crack. He realized that humanity was destroying the rock upon which they lived; they leaked life’s code into the churning chaos. At first the change was imperceptible: nanites overtook microorganisms, bacteria, viruses, amoebas. Insects became increasingly inorganic; birds and lizards followed soon after. Even humans were infected by their own advances, cell by cell, till there was not a person left on earth who wasn’t at least part synthetic, the product of a prior generation’s carelessness. The world’s population was ravaged by mechanical viruses with no vaccines; they were mercilessly overtaken by bacteria that knew no death. Soon, most of the planet was empty and only a handful remained who remembered the hedonist realm they came from; only a few were left who remembered what the world looked like when their buildings touched the sky. The King Dragon of the Void watched the rock turn. He watched humans cower as the Old World fell down around them; watched their great monuments crumble into dusty ruins; watched their codes become precious, ancient gem memories forged under the crushing pressure of so many fallen stones. The world has spun many times around the sun since chaos swallowed man whole. It is a simpler time than the one that died out, but the people now are not immune to the folly of the people before. There is old code everywhere: in the water, in the air, in the trees. The heart of man has been replaced by power cores, many of which are hard-coded with preternatural abilities—when they die, an esoteric mountain sect collects their cores and stores them in their hollow mountain home to preserve the sanctity and dignity of human death. They’ve learned to harness artifacts of the old world, gemstones full of codes their nanite infused bodies can parse as spells imbuing their users with great power; they inlay them into their bodies, into their skins, connected to their cores by copper conduit and gold tracers; they dress themselves in tattoos to advertise their prowess; they battle for relics in arenas, fight for them in the open world wherever they are found. The King Dragon of the Void watches the rock turn and wonders: when will this hunger finally make the rock stop spinning? WELCOME TO FANXING CITY … Twenty-five years ago, Fanxing City and the surrounding lands were commanded by the mad King Zao Beiguan. For many years, the King hoarded wealth, artifacts, food; he demanded tribute from a people already taxed to the edges of their existence and expected they be happy with their circumstances. Noncompliance was often punished harshly, bodies displayed proudly on Fanxing’s streets as a warning, from the city gates to the Zao palace’s golden doors. The youths of several prominent clans came together to overthrow the tyrant and made names for themselves as legendary heroes across the land: Tian, Ren, Feng, Gui, Ma, and Zhenxi. Even wanderers from the Luanshi sect descended from Yunji mountain to aid the rebellion. When the dust settled after three years, Tian Yunyong ascended the throne of Fanxing and swore to honour his slain father’s memory, and has maintained Fanxing’s peace with generosity and mercy where fear and cruelty once reigned.
