《Clockwork》Volume 3 chapter 13 Divine Punishment

Ok after a good laugh at ImaginexBreaker's (haremxbreaker)expense lets move on to the real stuff. BTW besides a joke or two that chapter won't have much affect over the story itself.
The men still look at Lucas in rage but for the rest of the day we let the topic of his… denseness die.
For the most part I turn my attention to Etheria again.
Because we needed to destroy the raptor dungeon it was time the clockwork underwent upgrades.
It was clear that the boss wasn’t short of level 170 or more.
I tell everyone about the assassin class and the type of technology i discovered on them.
I look through my game video files until i pull up the part where i repair the hand and when i attach it and he shifts the arm to all the weapon types.
“That is impressive technology. Did you learn it simply by scanning?” Victor asked with a slight frown.
“Plans gained...from scans. Natural intuition...and studies...on mechanics.” I tell him and show him my “small” collection of mechanic and programming books.
Both of them frown when they saw the high school and college grade books.
“No wonder you can do so much...to...have some many books as well as live 5 times slower while doing the program for the feedback system when you get out you will totally be one of the smartest people in mechanic engineering for sure.” James said as he pulled out a book and flipped through it.
“Damn, half of these books i never even heard of before! Where the hell did you find them?” Mathieu asked looking at the mechanic portion of the books.
“VR town...book stores.” I say and both of them look at me wide eyed.
I get on my PC and look around and pull up the plans for the arms shifting tech. I print them and bring it back to the living room with the two others who were holding books and reading a bit.
“These are...schematics for...the arms. I will...begin developing...this as...standard tech...for the...crew.” I tell them.
“What will you do exactly?” Lucas asked.
“Each one...is different.” I say and point to Lucas. “New...pressure fist...arm guns...arm mace...etc.” I say and point to me. “More long...range weapons...new turrets.” I then point to Victor. “Stronger and ...more compact...power suit.”
Each one has their section of upgrades and i knew each of them and was already planning ahead.
This shifting tech would be really important for the advancement of the clockwork.
“One more...thing we...need to...do.” I say drawing the attention of those reading or looking over the plans of the arm.
“Gaia has...wind elemental...core. We...need it...to obtain...all four...elementals.” I say.
“Really, when did she obtain it?” Brock asked.
“During beta...from elf...queen Lyra...Toross.” I tell them.
Lucas and the elementals weren’t surprised by the name since we visited her but Mathieu was since he wasn’t there during that time.
“You guys met with their queen?!” He asked wide eyed.
“No, Gaia did and Nate should have gone but he was still...closed up back then.” Lucas said.
“Doesn’t matter who she got it from really, what is important is that we need that.” Yulin says.
“We also need it to be near his whale so that spirit won’t just run away.” Mathieu said.
“Problem...Gaia herself. Might want...tech.” I say.
“Yeah, i get yeah. For us, tech is life and trading it to NPC allow players to eventually access it.” Calvin said.
We all agreed with what was said.
The real problem is what she wanted for it. We would pretty much remove her power for a time and there is a risk of it escaping if things don’t go well.
“We should go for it anyway. Gaia isn’t some muscle brain and knows when something is beneficial to her. She clearly knows we hold the highest battle power and I’m sure she would give us the core since we will develop technology from it which she, whom we know and trust best, would eventually gain even a few pieces.” James said.
“Yeah we should try at least. Let's get Delta to ask. Maybe she can even wake it herself and tame the elemental or send it our way.” Yulin said.
With that we all agree on the current course of action. Mathieu shares his own research into his power suits and said he will help me with the armor for the two NPC (gm) we have as well as improving the knights.
“We need...tanks.” That was the last thing i said and the decision was to request for one of the massive gorilla tanks we knew from the start to come and help us with this.
After a while the others left leaving me to my own thoughts.
The next day flew by as I occupied my time either playing with Nova or staying on my PC and drawing up plans for Asura’s arms. Like before i wanted to keep each arm with the original function but also add on to it. The grenade launcher only made the hand move out of the way to shoot but now i can shift it the same with all of them.
It will take quite a bit of testing with this but as any craftsman trial and error is part of life. I also need to properly implement the drone turrets with that tech, i did a fast build and it was rather crude but if i take my time it would be devastating.
The final rest day went by as quick as the others and soon we were back in the game.
I found myself inside Yasha and feeling around i find Asura on the ship deck.
I get up and stretch as if i was waking up and leave to go check on some stuff.
Getting outside I was waiting for myself...yeah well i just left to check on a few things to see how the town grew in the five days i was gone.
A number of new residential buildings were built near the wall with one main avenue going from the scrapyard gate all the way to the door of Brock’s stone wall.
On this street were stores and such popping up. Golems were walking around passing several times compacting the ground to work in the place of asphalt for now. It is made into nearly 10 layers of compacted dirt so it can handle the weight of many structures as the foundation as well.
As i just walk around i suddenly hear Nova’s cry coming from the sky.
I look up and see her jump off strato just above me.
I get desperate as I see her and with Asura I jump and catch her in the air and land with a loud thud.
She was crying a lot but no tears came out.
“What’s up Nova?” I ask her with both bodies.
“I *hic* was in *hic* tiny toy* when *hic* found meany *hic* bro’s room.” She says hiccuping. “He *hic* broke *hic* my toy. WAHHHHH!!!!” She cried.
Instantly my regular bluish white eyes on both my main robot's and every robot i had under my control turned a deep scarlet.
“Stay here Nova. Don’t come to the ship for a while.” I tell her and let her down.
All my robot's quickly begin moving and the drones were moving all over the ship and I quickly found Nova’s broken child body and in my workshop was that cocky mechanic player. He was hacking my system and stealing all my tech.
”Victor are you inside brock?!” I call victor’
”Aye! What’s the problem, there's a ton of your bots moving about?” Victor asked.
”Call Brock and tell him to seal the whale. We have a rat that is stealing our tech.” I tell him and close the chat.
It took only a minute and the massive open mouth of the whale began to close.
I run outside of town where it was floating over and grab the ropes attached to it’s arm and tug it.
Brock starts to pull it up while i hold on and soon I was on his fin and rapidly jumping up on his back to get in through the top entrance.
As I get up there with several of my robot's already waiting with their weapons pointed at the hole.
Brock appeared from the stone whale’s body.
“What’s going on, Victor just said there was a rat stealing tech?” He asked.
“Trash attacked Nova and is stealing! Let me in and then seal this hole!” I tell him clearly and he quickly shrinks at the sight of Asura’s glowing red eyes.
He opens the top entrance and I walk down with the corridor closing behind Yasha who was behind.
When I get down there the citizens inside were desperate with all the strange movement.
”SHUT UP EVERYONE!!! WE WILL OPEN UP WHEN I DEAL WITH THE TRASH STEALING FROM ME!!!” I shout through the text making everyone calm down.
Those that looked at me all shrank in fear. It was to be expected. When you see two robot’s shaped like demons with glowing red eyes and expressions of pure rage you can’t help but coware.
I climb up to my ship where robot knights had their swords drawn ready to attack when that trash came up.
I enter myself and walk down one floor.
“COME OUT TRASH!!” I shout letting my rage loose and my voice roar at the top volume.
“I already know you're in the second room, MY WORKSHOP! You moron!” I shout.
I hear gears shifting and through my drones I can see the guy desperately looking for something.
My patience dries up and I walk into my workshop.
Inside i find the trash with some half built gun which isn’t even complete.
“YOU BASTARD! YOU THINK YOU CAN KILL ME!! I’M LIKE YOU! WE ARE BOTH CONVICTS AND I KNOW! IF YOU KILL ME YOU WILL GET YOUR LIFE IN THIS SHIT HOLE INCREASED!” He shouts confident.
So this was the first kind of trash i would meet from the feedback system. How he knew i was one i don’t know but considering he could hack into our system he was put in jail because of that.
“GM Call, request conditions to which I can kill a player.” I say and suddenly my two crew mates Annabeth and Greer appeared from behind me.
“GM Reporting, conditions involve breaking law and you being the temporary leader administering a proper trial. In this case the accused would die, would loose their body, 1 level and would be banned from the game for 1 real life week. In the case of juvenile convicts their time would be increased to match the time they remain out of the game besides standard weekly break.” Annabeth explained the first case.
“The second case is when the criminal is caught red handed stealing or killing an NPC or PKing. In this case the player wouldn’t need to undergo a trial and can be directly disciplined. The ban is for two months, you will have your character rest and in the case of convicts who live in the game, current race you have will be locked and you will not be able to start on the same continent which would also lock all other races that live on said continent.” Greer explained.
“Case 2 definitely. Please monitor me and keep me from passing the limit.” I tell them and they nod.
“W-wait. L-limit w-what are you going to do. G-GM’s can’t show sides right!”
“That is true but you have been found red handed already as well as being a PK. Also your crime is worse towards this gentlemen because you destroyed the body his sister was using at the moment and that is a VERY bad thing.” Annabeth says.
“NO!!” He shouts and lifts the weapon but in a single bound i grab the barrel and pressure the barrel making it bend before letting it go revealing the grip mark.
The steam from the mechanic nearly stopped flowing as he looked at the weapon and as soon as he looked at me i grabbed him by the neck.
“Now you shall feel more fear that you will ever care to see.” I tell him in a deadly low town.
At once I lift him to the highest i could and slammed him into the floor making a hole.
I pull him out and drag him out followed my the girls and Yasha.
Outside i find the crowd waiting.
“Brock, OPEN UP!” I shout.
The whale responds and opens its mouth.
I make my drones jump down and push people away.
I then toss the trash down into the circle and as soon as he landed like a sack of potato’s the drones swarmed him like locus.
“GRAAA NO GET OFF GRAHAAAAA!!!” He shouted as the drones entered opening in his body and began dismantling his body.
Quickly the plates fall off showing the inside.
It revealed all the tools he has gathered and a few weapons as well.
As the plates in those areas falls the drone swarm there and begin removing all the tools and work their way inside removing more plates to allow more drones in.
”This man did two GRAVE crimes to me and this is his punishment. First he choose to steal from me. Technology I have researched intensely to get to this point and to help build the cities that rise for the clockwork nation. Second, this trash that was caught destroyed the body of my sister Nova Gear.” I pass the message to everyone.
As soon as they reached the second reason and intense bloodlust from every last one of them was released. Nova was probably by far the most well known clockwork and was immensely popular because she is a child and most of the time spends time in her small body playing or studying. The whole town knows her because she likes to help and play and as my sister.
They all like her for her and to hear she was attacked was an unacceptable act.
The previous looks of pity was turned into looks of rage and a few people cheered for the drones as they strip the trash clean of all his gear.
as he was nearly picked clean the drones began gathering the spoils and returned inside leaving a working husk of what was once a mechanic.
I jump down and land with both bodies.
I walk over and pick the now small clockwork by the head. I remove the head cap.
I toss a few drones in there and they connect to his main software.
I start hacking into his system but as you expect of a hacker. He has a good protection. Well it takes a bit for me to start finding some holes and start smashing down his defenses until it crumbles.
“Now you will lose everything.” I tell him.
I enter his memory bank. Unlike what is though the memory chips don’t hold our memories. What i holds are blueprints, schematics, plans, every bit of skill based knowledge was in there.
I insert an empty memory chip into my own brain and being to syphon the information.
Five minutes later i drained him of everything. I didn’t get any of his skills unless i read his memories but my hacking skill did level up to Basic level 4.
“Now begone.”
With a single arm from Asura I land a pressure fist in an uppercut which sends the body flying up into the ceiling and smashing into pieces.
”Let this be a lesson to anyone else that has “ideas” of stealing.” I say and walk out.
I remove the memory chip and store it inside my inventory before jumping down out of the whale.
I run out of town and start roaring my anger out to calm down and only after 20 good minutes do i reach that point. It was mainly because the steam was running out so i had less power.
I sit back in the sand and pull out the necessary amount of water and open my chest piece lid and fill up.
It goes without any trouble, after all, i was used to it and using drones for eyes i could fill up and work inside myself without hassle.
I had a small bit of water inside so i don’t empty the last can.
I simply put the can down to close the lid.
I felt really dull at this point. At the moment, it was 4:30 pm and the sun was still high up and hot.
I simply sigh as i finish filling Yasha and Asura and close the chest lid.
As soon as i grab the water can it slips from my hand and falls sideways spilling the water inside.
“Tch, today is grand huh.” I spoke to myself. I grab the can and with most of it empty already i empty the rest and store the can.
I turn back to the city which was about 1 km away and start walking but on the first step my sensors picked something up.
Tremors in the sand, underground.
As soon as i felt it rapidly coming up I activate both Yasha and Asura’s suspension system and with the springs I jump a good 20 meters. It was good i did because as soon as i reached 5 meters away I towering body burst out of the sand. It rose up into the air 10 meters and was 4 meters wide. The outside was covered in a hard rock like shell.
As it reached its peak its mouth split into four separate lips revealing numerous teeth and a highly acidic spit.
The massive worm creature pulled back half way and looked at us before letting out a high pitched screech before launching itself in an arc right at me.
We I jump to both side evading and the warm hits the sand head first but doesn’t stop. Instead it just continues going. The tail came out of the other hole and followed the head as it entered the new entrance.
Not wasting time i started to run as i set up to jump again.
I drop drones so i can sense them better and as i run i feel it approach Yasha. Timing it right i spring forward dodging just as the creature appears out of the sand. I land some 15 meters away with the creature already following with it’s mouth open and jumping to the left with a half ready system i dodge again.
I quickly look with Asura and scan it as fast as possible using him and as many drones.
What i got made almost lose my senses.
Sand DrifterLevel:215
I run as fast as possible dodging it my narrower margins.
When i finally got on solid rock that was expanded by Brock I was happy to see that the Worm when i came down the last time onto the rock it hit the rock hard making cracks but it couldn’t dig.
That meant that the area on rock was safer.
Reaching the safety of the gates we slump down as many knights come out and see the massive worm on the rock before it pulls itself back into the sand.
”Warn everyone. NEVER drop water into the sands of the desert. Only death awaits those who do. Pass this scan info around as a warning of what is out in the desert.” I tell the knights and pass the info. They all shrink at the level. Most are revived and only at the range of level 110 which is 30 level higher than me.
”Mark the desert as a high level zone and only those above level 200 should venture through.” I order and news is quickly spread though the city.
I walk back to Brock’s whale and enter my workshop.
The place was still a mess so i put the robot's to work to fix it up while i let my body slump down onto my chair.
“Delta!” I call out loud since it’s the only way to call him.
“You call?” He asked.
”Mind sending a message to Gaia...or request is a better.” I say.
”What type of request?” He asked interested.
”I need the wind elemental core she has to power herself. I want to have all four basic elementals traveling with us but since Sylph are made of wind it’s hard or almost impossible to know where to find one.” I tell him.
”Wait a moment then.” He says and goes silent for a moment.
About a minute later a message comes in.
”Gaia says she will agree to it if you share the drone turret tech with the implemented shifting tech from the assassin.” He told me.
Steam began pouring out.
That bitch is getting really cocky recently! I thought. ”Is that all?” I ask irritated.
”Yep” He replied.
I grumble as i think of such a good tech becoming public but considering the assassin already has the tech itself they would eventually make implemented stuff but the drone turrets was a pain.
“ARGRAAHH!!” I shout. ”Tell her fine but i will give her the tech only after i perfect it and she must send the core right away. Also, she WILL NOT allow awakened have access to this tech and is to keep them hidden and out of scanner range.” I tell him.
He is quiet for a moment.
”She agrees to both conditions, she doesn’t want crappy made stuff anyway and giving cowards technology will make things go bad fast. She says take your time and the assassin has undergone some improvements and will be the escort for the core so no worries about its safety.” He says.
”Good. That is all.” I say and sigh.
So much for private gear but having all four elementals would benefit us a lot. I should start developing weapons with the new core crystals or else we can never properly plant our feet in this place with such high leveled monsters.
I get up and with the more organised workshop i get to work. Just after taking a look at the trashes memories.
