《Clockwork》Volume 3 Chapter 21 Attack Plan
Advertisement
Yo my name is O'clock Helix well actually that is my name in Etheria. I joined the game after the game came out fully with my friends.
We went with the clockwork race because it looked the coolest and it is but it's also the hardest class to advance.
The main reason is the experience gaining system of the game and how the clockworks grow.
All the races in the world have some kind of cheat method to grow and trust me when I say clockwork beats them all.
Being able to change bodies for stronger ones which have higher stats is too much of a cheat. The guy standing at the peak of the Clockworks is that Techno guy.
He is famous for being the leader of "The Clockwork" crew. He discovered two new races after the full game release, he and his crew set up the clockwork nation with the largest number of races grouped together allowing to start in one place. And now he is building and expanding the nation to all the scrapyards gates.
What am I? A level 57 mechanic that can't understand half the stuff needed to get to that level. He even tamed his own sky whale like that massive one he appeared on.
The new a d reporters are crazy about him though it's been rather quiet for the last few months because he has been mainly building the other Gate towns.
Still I can totally call myself lucky.
My crew which only has me and two other close friends picked up and SOS signal which we thought was an awesome hidden quest but who would have thought.
We found a hanger open in the side of a scarp mountain and exploring inside where the signal came from we found a fucking titan, a synthoid titan though he keeps calling himself god of the synthetic races. Delusional idiot, gods are human sized and titans are massive.
Still he sent out the message to us cause he thought we could do something for him.
First he gave us a history lesson on the world. It was boring but still cool since he showed us many videos of what it was like before.
He told me that Techno had been here at the end of the beta and started up when the game was released.
It was then he gave us the mission.
"Look here, I've helped him here and there but it's been pissing me off how he doesn't really appreciate it so I want you to make a nice strong blow to his pride. I'll teach you guys how to make lots of the tech he possess and in exchange you send several robot units to attack West gate city as a distraction. Catch several of the robot animals and bring them here.
Then when techno leaves North gate to go support Westgate since it's his mission to make sure they survive, you attack North gate and take some animals there." Delta said.
"Is there a reason those animals are important?" I asked curiously.
"They hold a special core inside their bodies which is the motherboard. I can't alter them after Techno released them so I need to be close up or do it through you guys. I haven't had a chance to examine them in depth but I think something special happens if you upload your codes properly into it but only a clean on which only techno is capable of making and I doubt you guys will ever be able to steal tech directly from him except through me." Delta said.

"So the mission is to attack west gate after you beef us up and take some core thing. Then what?" I asked.
"Take it to the center of the scrapyard. There is a being like me that can aid you in making full use of that core." He said.
Pride CrushDelta was sealed and can only converse with those who encounter him. Because of this the Clockwork Techno has had his id but unsatisfied with how he is treated Delta has brought you here to dsk you to aid him in teaching Techno a lesson.
Then you must head the unexplored center area of the clockwork Scrap yard where a being equal to Delta resides and can aid you in using the Core properly.
After gaining upgrades and tech from Delta, you must send a squad of robots to attack West gate and acquire a clockwork animal core intact. Beware of the shepard because he is the defender of the animals and will attack those who hunt them. Animals in West gate are docile and haven't gained animal like instincts so they follow his command and don't attack unless provoked.
Success: Attack and have someone call for help, acquire core intact
Failure: None but failing to acquire core during attack will make it difficult as new defense systems will be put in place.
Reward: ???
I grinned as I read the mission.
"We are supplied the tech so that's awesome. Maybe we can even attack North gate. We can split up. You guys go to east gate and I go to north. After Techno leaves we can assault the town with the robots just to make it sting a bit more." I said my two crew grinned at the prospects of getting to screw with one of the top players.
"Ok you have a deal, what do we need?" I asked.
"Go gather random robots rebuild them then make a mobile furnace. Then obtain some Will-o-wisp and golem cores and make them your servants we will need to gather minerals and smith them but and it will take a while to get forces strong enough. If you got trust worthy friends then good." Delta said and we all got busy.
Techno Pov
It's been three months and a half already and the blast furnace for this city is almost complete. Defense systems against the slugs and robot animals are in place and only in this town is hunting them possible.
Every last animal has developed a high birth rate which is hard to maintain now so hunting has been allowed.
A boar monster also appeared. They are bigger than the already large, bull sized boars. There is only one which has been considered a boss monster. It is twice as big as the normal boars and developed tusks made surprisingly from earth steel.
This thing is strong and it must have become like this from clockworks that it beat.
The boars have rapidly risen in power to balance the power of all its predators and now is up to levels 165-170 and the boss level 200
My crew didn't hunt much so our levels only raised by 15 levels each but we did make a rather strong military guard unit in this town.

Expansion wise, we can't really spread far into the scrapyard because the snails and slugs are aggressive in their attacks and corrode the walls we build further in. So we simply went underground making great use of miner clockworks.
Brock also absorbed all the plain rocks so he can expand his size which was now at 1/10 the size of Menthol and at this point I could no longer say he wasn't suited for making the island above it.
Still the elves are busy and until I finish this mission there is no vegetation up there.
Brock covered his body in a dense layer of rock and has already begun to form a landscape on his back as he is constantly shifting the earth around. His belly where we stay, which is no longer the entire area but just a part, now has a space fore water which the Undine appreciate and being up high makes the small Sylph wisps happy as the air is cleaner and away from the smoke of the city.
The two will-o-wisps of my crew are still at it sucking up mana from is mana crystals.
They say they are making lots of breakthrough and need to focus to not let their fires get to hot which has pushed their fire manipulation to the upper intermediate ranks.
When they don't control it their body turns a bright blue and the heat coming from them is enough to compare them to the sun. Staying to close has a danger of getting third degree burn on organics.
The GM's also broke thru and have gotten really strong. Greer asked me to make a lightweight power suit with stealth tech. She seems to like assassin type stuff and the has claws like wolverine built into the suit.
Annabeth...she is...interested in what I do. Mostly the magic tech. She wants to help and learn how to make it and if she finds me working on possible working models for weapons she tries to give her point of view.
I really don't know how to make out her attachment to magic tech or maybe her attempts to get closer to me. I still can't speak with anyone but my family without it being broken up phases.
It was when I was playing with Nova that Delta contacted me.
"Oi, techno! It's an emergency!!!" he texted showing some urgency but not enough for me to care.
"Yeah what?" I texted.
"It's East Gate City, it's being attacked by a strong group of Bandits!" he said.
I froze a moment and looked at the message again.
"Bandits aren't strong you know?" I replied.
"But these are, they built a robot army and have three ships worth of knights and even assassin unit."/ he texted.
I froze as the rotation of my motor dropped low.
"Only me and Gaia know how to make assassins. Especially those with shift tech like Venus." I replied.
"Well these guys have even your Shift Gears, the assassins are too fast for their quality. Nothing above steel but they are dominating the fight." Delta said and I instantly stopped playing with Nova.
"Don't joke with me Delta, because if I find out this is true I'm going to find you and dismantle you and use your scrap for something useful!" I texted him.
"HEY WHY ARE YOU SAYING THAT TO ME!" he said.
"Because you are the only other person that saw me make it so only you can share it. I'm going to East Gate and if I find in the scraps of those robots a Shift Gear you are dead you hear me!" I said and cut the connection and linked to all the hers.
"Bulk, Annabeth and Greer. Get to the ship, we are going to East Gate to investigate an attack from Robots that used shift gears we should have. Victor, Brock, Ena and Blaze stay in North gate and tighten security. This town has defenses but we can't be sure if someone hasn't infiltrated already and is preparing to attack." I said and everyone text back they understood.
I connected to my robots and pulled a number of them while setting the rest on guard duty on the streets. As soon as something happens I will be warned by them.
In no time we were all on the ship and Brock opened up letting us head to East Gate.
O'clock PoV
"Kid go straight to the center, Techno left behind part of his forces. He is too untrusting of me and to take everyone. Also make sure all your fallen robots are picked up or flat out destroyed or else he will know I fed you tech." Delta messaged me. I kind of expected him to not be so dumb glad I wasn't disappointed.
But there is truth to what the titan said. He would figure out the big idiot fed us tech which would be bad if he did anything to him since we need a spy on him. Lets see, signal order, retrieve follen robots under my ownership. Done!
Now we have five battle ships, auto command "Attack North Gate city" four ships. That should be plenty to piss him off. With our flagship I turn to the west aiming straight to the center.
"When he asks, tell him we are heading to the center and that it was fun screwing with him." I tell Delta and turn make the ship fly.
Now only a matter of waiting and travelling.

Leftover Apocalypse
[Participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] This is a story about the newly-adult Calliope Smith having a terrible day that ends in her getting mysteriously teleported from Phoenix, Arizona to a fantasy world where her life is in constant danger. She considers this an upgrade. Someone evil is looking for her, and she doesn't know why. Someone who seems to know a lot about her has promised they'll help her, but she doesn't know who they are. All that matters to Callie is that magic is real and one way or another she's going to learn it. The end of the world is coming up, sure, but Callie won't need to worry about that. In fact, by the time she even finds out about it one of the doomsday devices will already be destroyed, and the authorities will be well on the way to dealing with the other one. It's fine. Everything will be smooth sailing. Almost certainly. Probably. Chapters are usually about 2500-3500 words, and the goal is to post 2-3 per week but I sometimes get busy or have some writers block. It's your standard portal fantasy / Isekai premise, but unlike some the main character's time on Earth and how she got pulled into another world will (eventually) be explored. Some slight GameLit-feeling stuff later, no menus or level-ups but there's something suspiciously like a skill tree when the magic system gets going. No number crunching, and while the main character will get to do some silly stuff she won't be a god like in some fics (and will in fact spend a lot of time being badly outclassed by her enemies). Some reader interaction, ranging from adding to the worldbuilding to occasionally making big important decisions about skill progression. Please note that the main character is flawed and impulsive, and will make some stupid decisions. That's part of the story, but I get that it's not for everyone. Trigger Warnings: Foster care system references, crappy parenting. Some mental health adjacent stuff, specifically the main character has some issues where she experiences varying levels of empathy and emotional vulnerability depending on the day (it's complicated and not meant to portray any real-world conditions). Occasional violence including mention of death and grievous bodily harm, but no detailed descriptions of gore.

The Brotherhood Archive:Crossroads(Revised)
All people great or small have a story - Patriarch Lord Theris'Heron Soletus, was on the verge of becoming a warden in the Dias Brotherhood until his father holds him back. Instead of proving his skill with culling monsters that plague the land, he is given an assignment different assignment. It isn't one that test doesn’t test his physical strength, but his strength of character. He is paired up with a shy and traumatized boy name Mien. Between Mien’s anxious behavior and the crime he committed, Soletus doesn’t know what to do or what to think. He wasn’t trained for the duty he is performing and has no idea if he is doing the right thing. However, when Soletus’s resolve to help starts to waiver, Mien does something unexpected and Soletus decides that the boy deserves a second chance not as an act of duty but as a friend. Hy'Ruh-Ha is a what I consider a chronicle fantasy. It is a fantasy drama coming of age story inspired by slice-of-life stories I've read and watched. It is heavy on the slice-of-life and does move slow. It is low-stakes fantasy. This particular story is romance free.(2 out the of 4 is re-uploaded under this title) And if you are someone who cares, the POV character is asexual. Crossroad(formally labeled as the intermission stories)- is a novella collection continuing the tale where Hy'ruh-Ha. The collection as followed: Wolf- After spending several months in the swamp post, Oeric'Sheldmartin returns to repair the chasm between him and his son, Soletus. However, a ghost from his past comes to haunt him and could ruin the life he's made completely. Note: Wolf is a bit of a character piece. POV character is Oeric. The Priest and the Priestess- A novella written in the POV of Mien and then Kiao after a series of unexpected events that change their lives. Mien's POV- Mien has spent the last couple of years working not only in the infirmary but training to become a combat chanter as part of his penitence. Then one day, a drug addled elf comes into infirmary and changes his perspective of a friend and puts his knowledge to the tests to figure out a mystery effecting children in town. *Spoiler warning* Kiao's POV- Kiao spent most of her time in the infirmary living the same daily secret filled life and until Mien changed it. Now she has to figure out her future in ways she never thought she would. I'm going for a Tues and Thurs day schedule for the re-upload. I may or may not stick in extra days.
