《A Mediocre Supreme Cultivator》Getting to Know Each Other
Advertisement
The unknown cultivator flew away, it was a wonder that the man was able to take the blow at all. While Fang Hu didn't go all out, he didn't hold back. He wouldn't have been surprised if his opponent (?) had flown away and took massive damage, but at most, the young man looked mildly inconvenienced. The man bounced off the ground and then almost landed on his feet, something told Fang Hu that this fellow would be able to actually do it if he had known the attack was coming. That, combined with the lack of impact on his fist and the only injury of his being some bleeding in his mouth, told him that this cultivator was stronger than him. Otherwise, never mind the injuries, that attack could have killed.
Fang Hu didn't know why he did it. While it was true he really didn't like that line, it was so consistent that you'd think the Japanese people swum in the stuff, he really wouldn't assault a dude for saying it. It was almost enough to disturb Fang Hu, and that was saying something, because every time he'd increase his cultivation base his mind became more steady. Not in a 'I'm less insane!' way, but in a 'Hmm... my arm just got cut off, oh well.' way. Not having complete control of his own body was rather unnerving, if you had asked Fang Hu at the time, the only reason he didn't flip out, was because he was slowly becoming used to it. After a solid second and a half of standing around like an idiot, which was a decent bit of time for him now, Fang Hu could only think of one reason of for his outburst.
*I guess I should be more careful with my promises.*

"... It might be prudent to become more judicious with my vows."
Upon hearing our hero's murmurs, the man stopped drawing a hidden weapon and fell into thought. Not that Fang Hu could see that happening, he looked almost the exact same as before, and Fang Hu didn't even know where the 'hidden weapon' was. Upon realizing that he had almost been forced to engage with an unknown cultivator, the scholar stopped his introspection and started thinking about his situation. While most of his thoughts were little more than, 'Oh-shit-ohfuck-why-did-I-have-to-do-that?! One-hell-of-a-greeting-huh? How-am-I-supposed-to-get-them-to-trade-with-me-now?' he still managed to scan the person he had hit. Unfortunately, that did little to alleviate his woes.

*Uhh... crazy thing, that rice. I hear it's nowhere near as good as they say it is, Hahaha*
"Fickle thing, fate. Ours were intertwined with an overused saying, I'd even wager that it isn't anywhere as good as they say it is. Hahahaha!"
Song Guanyu looked at the odd man laughing. When he heard 'overused saying' leave the man's mouth, he understood that he was also not of this world, and as he was quick on the uptake, the sky scholar had already realized that he was only attacked due to an unwanted vow. Just as he was about to tell this strange man to leave or die, he idly scanned his 'opponent', only to have the results surprise him. Slowly, Song Guanyu began laughing with this Fang Hu.

"Hahahahahahah..."
"Hahahahahahah..."
"Hahahahahahah"
"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH...."
Fang Hu's laughing died out as Song Guanyu's grew louder. Eventually four people looked at Song Guanyu awkwardly while he laughed at nothing in particular. Just as Fang Hu's anxiety reached it's peak, Guanyu started putting actual words through his mouth.
"I could use a spar against a man with dao mastery such as yourself. You were going to try and trade with the sect, right?"
Fang Hu nodded.
"Good, good. If you spar with me, I'll put in a few good words with the elders, and if you refuse, I'll make sure you are barred from the sect altogether.'
It was an offer that Fang Hu couldn't refuse. Well, he very well could refuse him. Fang Hu could see it now, with a parting 'Cool!' he would turn about face and run off into the sunset, leaving a very confused cultivator behind. That, however, was what could happen, not what would happen. Our hero had all sorts of reasons to accept the offer, the top three being: The sooner he got what he needed the better, he had time to go find another scholarly sect, but if he kept delaying his mission, he'd never get it done. Fang Hu wanted to test the upper limits of his body and techniques. Finding someone who could withstand them and probably doesn't want to kill him has to be pretty rare. That would be pretty rude, he slugged the dude in the fucking face, and in a world where a misplaced speck of dirt could get you killed, he was on pretty thin fucking ice. Being cheeky could very well kill him. After a precious few seconds, Fang Hu made up his mind.
*Yeah, sure man.*
"Very well."
"Excellent, come over to the arena, let us get into position.'
And so they did.

Duality
“Listen closely for this is our oldest tale… In the beginning there was peace and knowledge throughout our land… The creatures of old roamed these lands… Evil had yet to spread through our land… A rift in the very fabric of reality formed… The land burned and melted as the creatures stepped through… As the most advanced civilization… We took the mantle to combat… By the time we were able to gather half the world had already been lain bare… The war covered the once peaceful land in death and destruction… During this time humanity's greatest light arose…” Monologued the old man, red in the face from passionately spewing his praises of a past he had no part of. Written by two authors, this novel covers the tale of a pair of protagonists in a wuxia world. Oh, and maybe an isekai or two. Our goal with this project is to make an engaging and entertaining story, while making a good attempt at a somewhat realistic wuxia setting. We’re aware of the oxymoron…
