《Emperor of Blue Flower Mountain》Volume 1: Chapter 5: A New Life Begins

“What? All those?!”
Ye nodded proudly.
“The mountain must be really old!”
“Would you like to read about it?”
“Yes!” She said excitedly and then looked sad. “Oh but… I don’t know my characters very well so…”
“Is that all?!” Ye laughed and hopped on to the table. “I know all my characters! If you like, I can teach them to you!”
“You know how to read?!” Her Mother had never mentioned that about fairies.
“I do. I can write and do math too.”
“You’re really smart.” She complimented, impressed.
Ye’s little fairy face blushed, apparently surprised by her genuine but simple praise.
“Before you came I had a lot of time on my hands. I was bored every day. So I learned a lot of things just to give me something to do.”
“You must know a lot then. I will call you Teacher Ye from now on! I am in your hands, Laoshi Ye!” She gave a mock bow and giggled.
“Laoshi Ye? I like it!” The leaf fairy laughed and then cleared his throat, looking magnanimous. “This Esteemed Laoshi shall call you Student Mei Hua. Student Mei Hua, this Teacher will have you reading and writing and so much more!”
“More?”
“Of course, Student Mei Hua. If this Laoshi let you starve to death on the mountain, how could he live with himself? Laoshi Ye will tell you everything you need to know!”
Mei Hua’s eyes widened. He’d said it flippantly but she was touched. There was a real chance she’d die if someone didn’t teach her how to survive.
Genuinely moved, she got on her hands and knees and bowed, saying seriously, “Laoshi Ye, this student will listen carefully and never disobey.”

“Aw, come now, come now, don’t bow like that to me.” Ye jumped down from the table, next to her head, and patted her gently on the cheek. “I was only joking. We are friends, friends! Don’t forget!”
Seeing him anxious, she straightened herself up.
“Sorry. I didn’t forget we were friends. But I really am grateful.” She smiled. “You can call me MeiMei if you like, my family use to call me that.”
A flash of sadness crossed Ye’s face at the mention of her family. He’d heard her say her parents were dead. However, he knew better than to pursue the topic right then.
“MeiMei it is then!” Ye grinned widely. And then waved his hands widely. “This place, you can live here as long as you like! Like I said, it’s great for when you’re lost!”
Mei Hua nodded. “This place is really amazing. When the person who lives here comes back, I’ll thank them a lot!”
Ye turned around, looking at the cave and shook his head.
She heard him mutter, “…never come back…”
“Ye?”
The leaf fairy looked at her, and smiled a little sadly. “The person who owns this place had to move.”
“Move?”
“Yep. It was very… sudden.”
“Oh.”
Neither said anything for a while. Mei Hua could tell Ye got sad when he thought about the person who lived here. The little fairy tried to hide it, but she could tell.
Maybe they’d been friends. Maybe Ye was sad that he couldn’t see his friend anymore. Just like how she was sad she couldn’t ever see her parents again.
Picking Ye up, Mei Hua gently brought him to her chest, as if giving him a hug.
“It’s ok Ye,” She said with feeling. “I’m here now. I won’t leave you.”

“That’d be nice if it were true.” Ye said quietly.
“It is true! I don’t have any home but this one, so I can stay forever!”
Seeing her fervent promising, Ye chuckled, “Forever is a long time.”
And thus began Mei Hua’s life on the mountain. As Ye promised, he taught her not only how to read and write, but also how to survive on the mountain.
Every day Mei Hua sang for the Fairy Emperor. She first started with simple lullabies and children’s songs, because those were the only one’s she knew. But later, at Ye’s suggestion (because he was bored of those songs), she began making up her own.
When she began singing her own songs, Ye brought her a pipa lute and began teaching her how to use it. She didn’t bother to ask where he found it, as he would say it came from their home (the Traveler’s Cave). He would often find things for her to use, claiming it came from there. But, as with the pipa lute, she could not figure out where it was stored in the cave. There was no space for it.
Eventually she gave up trying to figure it out and just considered it a “fairy thing”.
Because her life was very simple, she had plenty of time to practice the pipa lute. Though she had no one to compare herself to, Ye swore up and down she was an excellent player. (And then claimed all the glory himself, as her teacher, which made her laugh.)
It was hard at first to live on the mountain. There were many days she went without meat, having to survive off the food in the jars within their home. This worried her at first, because she failed a lot at the beginning. Surely she’d use up their contents and then die with the way things were going!
But to her utter amazement, the jars always remained full. Ye claimed that, as long as the items could be found on the mountain, the jars would always refill themselves.
Fairy magic really was amazing!

Madness Led by the Hands
‘Great, no… splendid. It was for naught.’ ‘Naught? Depends. If your desire is to send an army of killers our family’s way, yes indeed. If it’s plain survival you seek, then no.’ ‘They don’t coexist?’ ‘What… don’t tell me you’re still all groggy from the fall. Perhaps in novels, but real life is much tougher–––many more times a drag than anyone can possibly imagine. If dusty history is not a reliable teacher for you, then the pandemic surely took that place. At least that one has the advantage you needn’t be literate to savvy how reality always trumps imagination.’ ‘Whatever you say, whatever you say. So… what now?’ ‘Now? Isn’t it obvious? Now we shall survive. And live a good life.’ ‘Ohh… pretty much everything here has something against this little weird wish of ours. Might you consider?’ ‘Then pretty much everything here is a goner.’ ‘Hm, I don’t like the sound of that. Too much trouble, you see. I’d prefer laying low somewhere safe.’ ‘…nobody told you it’s mutually exclusive, no–––or did you forget about that too?’ ‘Fine, then I wish my future enemies all the best.’ ‘They are undeserving of your pity.’ ‘Of course not. That unlucky bunch won’t ever comprehend the reason behind their demise. Just let me smoke in peace and offer my condolence in advance.’ ‘Idem, let me study alchemy, unobstructed by all, if possible. This also includes you. By the way, are you sure you smoke to offer condolences? It seems like an excuse to me.’ ‘I-it is none. Plain truth, you see?’ ‘Seriously, why did I even ask...?’

Art of Mortality
New Synopsis after chapter 56: Long long ago, there was a mortal who despised the gods and envied the immortals. Why do the mortals have to die when the gods wish them to? Why do worlds have to perish when the gods say so? Why do only immortals get to live forever, why not mortals like him? As his family, friends, and his loved one died, he lamented. He wailed, he cried. He cursed the immortals, blasphemed the gods, spat at the heavens. But he was just a mere mortal. His curses were pointless, his blasphemous words were useless, and his spits only returned back to fall on his face. At last, he thought, enough was enough, he would definitely do something about it. He decided that it was time for the multiverse to know what a mortal can do. He was the first mortal to cultivate. Eventually, after a long struggle, he killed the Immortals, enslaved the Gods, and shattered the heavens. He reshaped the multiverse and rewrote his fate. In the end, he reincarnated as he decided upon a grand scheme, a scheme to rule 'All and Always'. He came up with the concept of what is known today as 'Paragon'. And with this, all of reality, 'All and Always', was finally reforming, according to a Mortal's Wish. Synopsis (Old): In the vast and complex multiverse, what can a mortal accomplish? In the grand scheme of things, what can a mortal change? In truth, what is a mortal, and what is mortality? Being mortal is being ordinary, the same as being trash, or so says The World. "No, mortality is an art, and a true mortal is a grand artist. Being the root of all, a mortal can become anything.", says a young mortal boy. Meet Edward Alexander, a mortal boy walking the path against gods and immortals, fighting to the end to rewrite his destiny, and change the grand scheme of things. Can he really change the grand scheme of things? Or maybe he himself is the Grand Schemer? To know the answer, follow Edward Alexnder on his journey to demonstrate the Art of Mortality.*******

Statless
Summary Alexander Weiss, an intelligent and slightly unusual man, always dreamt of becoming a mage. Sadly, reality is harsh and even his best efforts never allowed him to achieve his goal during his lifetime... or did they? One has to be careful what they wish for, lest they might live to see it fulfilled. Description Follow Alex, a man whose pursuit of magic could not even be stopped by his non-magical reality, going as far as to create it himself, only to encounter an unsurmountable obstacle shortly before achieving his lifes goal, denying him all access to these powers. His journey will take him through a miraculous world, full of wonders, magic and manic beasts trying to devour him! He will learn much about this world during his adventures, exploring individual aspects of the System and the various monsters that came from it... or did they? Strong points What you'll get from this novel is the following (read with overly enthusiastic salesman-voice) : • An ending! I'll complete it, no matter what. Well, not "no matter what", but as long as I don't unexpectedly end, this novel won't either! • Good grammar! Might not be perfect, but it's definitely good enough to not detract from the story in the slightest. I'll also fix any reported mistakes as soon as possible, be they grammatical, syntactical or just inconsistencies. • No plot-armor! Or plot-weapons! Or plot-... potions? And no plot-holes! If you see some, it's most likely information that is being witheld for future revelations! But in the (hopefully) very unlikely case of such a vile beast being encountered, please inform me immediately and I'll see to slaying it without grace! (Translation: If you see plot-holes, tell me and I'll fix them) • Logic! [Hidden : Spoilers][Hidden : More Spoilers] [Moved to Chapter [Hidden Spoiler]'s Author's Note] Marvelous, I know! • Blue Boxes! And maybe something more! • Sensible retroactive edits! Not to be confused with radioactive edits! You'll not have to re-read previous chapters, even if they get some major edits. If they were to receive new information, I'll add that very information to the newly released chapters too, in a reasonable way. • Realism! Shocking, I know! Especially considering the tag related to that and the point about "Logic!". This also means that the story will be... well, realistically depicting a pretty messed up world. Don't expect bunnies... at least not cute ones. • Relatively faster paced! No long and boring descriptions of irrelevant stuff. There will be some longer descriptions about important things, but that's gonna be necessary world- and/or character-building! • Short action! Might not be a plus for some, but you won't have to look at a whole (or, god forbit, multiple) chapter describing a fight against the same enemy... • Strategy and hard progression! It's a dog-eat-dog world! No grinding/power-creep! If you're up against three enemies of your level at once, you've already lost! • Understanding! It will be mostly about discovering the wonders of this new world and how it became like that, all while trying to survive. So there will be enough action nonetheless! • Humor! Sometimes dark, sometimes light, always at the worst moment! • Constructive critics, welcome! Destructive critics, nope... I can handle criticism though, so don't go easy on me! Just make sure it's really a mistake when complaining about something. • Will add more in the future! If I can think of more stuff...
