《ATL: Stories from the Retrofuture》The Worst Mystery - Chapter 13: Despite Everything...

I hate coming to the Peach Towers food court on Saturdays, because it’s always filled with shoppers carrying a half dozen shopping bags (or having their robot servants do it for them), which means the lines to the restaurants are always three times as long. If I were smarter, I would pack a lunch when I work on Saturdays. However, I am not smarter.
Karina is, though. She’s got three sandwiches on a paper plate and some tomato soup in a thermos. My stomach rumbles, but when I look at the line for the Soup’n n Green’n, it’s still fifteen people long.
“Ugh…”
“Do you want one of my sandwiches?” Karina asks. “I made an extra one in case you needed it.”
“Thanks, but I’d rather suffer and own my mistake.”
“Speaking of suffering… Any luck with researching Jones yesterday?” She munches on a tuna-and-cheese sandwich and I instantly regret turning it down. But I will survive. I am a survivor.
“None of my usual sources had anything new,” I say. “Might go down to the Data Farm next week sometime. Will you be busy with your whatever stuff like last night?”
“That’s just Fridays. You know that, Morgan.”
“Yeah, but I was really bored last night. We never get to hang out on the most important night of the week, unless you come over at like eleven or something. I want to have fun like a normal person…”
“Morgan…” Karina gently chides me. “Let’s focus on finding Jones.”
“Oh yeah.”
“And yes, I’m busy for most of the week next week. Orchestra practice, and getting ready for the tech expo with Father, and… We’ll figure it out.”
“We always do.”
“And, Morgan?” She pauses so she can swallow the last remnants of her sandwich. “Thank you for helping me with the Magitek Soda case. It meant a lot to me.”

“It was nothing,” I say. “Lamar did all the hard work. I mean, besides what you did. I basically did nothing, is what I mean.”
Karina shakes her head. Then she says, “There is one more thing.”
“Oh yeah?”
She digs into her purse and pulls out– the other can of Magitek Soda.
“How about it?” she asks.
“I have been kind of curious…”
“If we’re being tracked for a few days, we can’t go to any of R8PR’s hideouts or anywhere like that,” she says. “Is it worth the risk?”
“Will we ever be able to live, not knowing?” I ask. “Not knowing the ultimate secret behind the ultimate soft drink?”
“No.” Karina looks at the can, nods, and then pops the tab. It opens with a hiss.
GPS activated.
“Here we go.”
Karina takes a few sips and swishes it around her mouth for a moment. She slides the can over to me, and I do the same.
It tastes… tangy. Kind of like orange soda, but sweeter. I swallow, and let the carbonation soak over me. The aftertaste is fresh. Too fresh. It’s like drinking citrus-flavored mouthwash.
We look at each other.
“That was pretty bad,” we say in unison.
The worst mystery, fully solved.

It's not a game
Where am I? This is not my room. What is this place. If you were transported to another world, to be an RPG protagonist. Just another average weak human being, with nothing but ten copper coins and a crappy sword. Could you defeat demons, monsters and giants? I think not. In a world inhabited by all manner of unspeakable evil, by devils of both monster and man. Could you right wrongs and fix a broken world? I think not. When both your fellow man, demons and the very divines that hold reality together conspire to corrupt, extort and rape this world. When they toy with you and laugh in amusement as you dance in their palms. Could you alter fate? I think not. So when this is the thorny path ahead of our protagonists, why would you expect them to be able to? They’re just human after all, teenagers at that. Nevertheless, join me on an epic journey that will alter the course of history and reality itself as our protagonists show you what it really means to be human... in an inhuman world.

AVATAR THE LAST AIRBENDER FANFICTION: RETURN TO THE EARTH
This is avatar the last airbender fanfiction. I do not own any character except my original characters. The story starts about 6-years before the iceberg breaking. The main character is an earth bender how will not use lava or metal bending at all. No other elements will be learned by him. I am using Grammarly with this work. I am at least planning to write the book earth fully. It will take time. Rest you can find by reading. Even harsh comments are welcome. It is nothing new to me. I hope you will find at least something interesting here. As you can see, I can not draw. If someone is willing to draw, then I am more than happy to receive it.

Avatar: Jǫrðsaga
There is beauty in Chaos and serenity in Order. One cannot exist without the other. Each gives meaning to their counterpart, eternal rivals and eternal lovers. It’s a shame only a rare few ever come to this revelation. Most live their lives trapped in an illusion, their path to enlightenment forever cut off. A lie will forever remain a lie, no matter how sweet it is. I will not turn a blind eye to the truth of the world. It matters not what others think of me, be they family, friends, allies, or enemies. They may call me a monster, a devil, a lunatic even. But I will not bend. I will not break. I will not be forced into conformity under threat posed by the child of Order. Because what is Order if not Chaos’ accomplice? There is only one path worth treading, and I will do whatever it takes to advance forward. For I am Sǫlmundr, Lord of the Earth. Avatar series fanfic. The first volume will not have anything canon. I apologise in advance. It will be setting up the mcs background and origins. It’s gonna be between 60 to 70 chapters in length. The power system in the avatar is pretty non-confrontational. You don’t have to fight for resources like in cultivation novels, so the frequency of his evil acts will be pretty spread out. This is a slow burn novel that I hope will draw readers into the world and slowly build up to whatever the climax of each arc is. I can only promise that he will always be a rational, benefits based mc. No harem. There will be love of some sort, but only because I’m literally forced by the power system to include it. Don’t worry though, mc will always prioritise his own interests first and will not let feelings get in the way. Chapter length: ≈ 2k words Updates: Once a week
