《ATL: Stories from the Retrofuture》Please Fill Out the ATL Reader Survey [News Post]

Hi, a request from your Friendly Neighborhood Thedude: Please fill out the ATL Reader Survey.
As of this writing, there is only one response, so I’m really hoping for more feedback to help me change up ATL and make it better. You do NOT have to be caught up in the story to fill it out, so if you’re behind or you only read some, your feedback will still be heavily appreciated. Anyone who’s finished, though, PLEASE give me your thoughts, because the stats tell me there are only 7 of y'all lol.
The ATL Reader Survey should only take about 5 minutes. Most of the questions are optional, too, if you want to skip it. I really want to hear opinions from ATL readers! Share the link: http://tinyurl.com/atl-reader-survey
In other news…
I’ve done some preliminary work on ATL’s rewrite already. The story will focus less on standalone story arcs, and instead gear itself more to traditional book-length stories. The original version has 8 story arcs in “Season One,” but the new ATL will have 4-5 interlinked stories per book, each one telling a complete overarching story in the series. It’ll still have different mysteries or villains for each section, but there’ll be a lot more cohesiveness than the original.
This isn’t set in stone, but I also intend to make chapters much longer. Social Media Killer was 34 chapters at about 1,800 words each, for 60,000 words total; a remake Social Media Killer might have, say, 15 chapters at 5,500 words, for 80,000 words total.
And, importantly, I want to make sure the characters are all amazing and super memorable. You won’t like all the characters, but every character will have their fans, for sure. This also means, though, a smaller recurring cast overall, I think. The ATL Reader Survey will go a long way to helping me figure out which characters are worth changing or cutting.

And overall, the timeline for this remake is still unclear. In 2022, I plan to release copyedited versions of Systemless as ebooks, an original fiction remake of Glory of Bowsette, and of course I will finish Golemancer. Depending on the rest of my life, I should have all that done in the first half of the year, which means I think I’ll start working on RE:ATL around next fall. But life is always unexpected, so there’s a big chance I won’t even get to start until close to 2023.
Once again, sorry to active readers who were really enjoying ATL, but it’s clear that I really messed up somewhere, because I lost basically all readers and stopped getting new ones. I’m going to change that somehow. In the meantime, please enjoy my other books, even if they don’t have the sheer power of Morgan Harding, our favorite kid.

NEVER SPLIT THE PARTY: The Adventures of The Creeping Bam (BOOK ONE: The Job)
TAO is a broken world held together with nothing but magic and the will of the gods who protect it and its people. Then thousand years ago THE SUNDERING struck and Tao was almost torn apart by a terrible magical cataclysm which resulted in the planet almost being halted in its journey through the cosmos. It took all the power the gods of Tao could muster to restore its orbit and set it turning again, but in their efforts it was forever changed – its axis was drastically altered, and it now spins in such a way that one face of the world is forever turned from the sun it orbits, leaving half the planet in perpetual darkness. The various humanoid races that survived and now thrive within the habitable parts of THE DAY LANDS have come to live in perpetual fear of what lives beyond THE BORDERLANDS that separate them from whatever dwells within THE NIGHT LANDS, but for ten millennia it has kept its secrets. The land of RUNDAO languishes under the rule of their warlike Northern neighbours, the TEKTEHRAN EMPIRE, while a small, ragtag band of motley adventurers ply their mercenary trade fighting monsters and protecting the common man from the various dangers that haunt the night and prowl the hinterlands on the edges of civilization. THE CREEPING BAM have amassed a modest reputation in their years together, but they’re still just a small-time party of sellswords, thieves, outcasts and mages. They’re also exactly the kind of underdogs the people of Tao doesn’t yet realise are needed to save the world from the encroaching darkness they doesn’t even know is coming … This is a love letter and homage to the high-fantasy worlds of the tabletop RPGs like Dungeons & Dragons, Pathfinder and Warhammer and the sword & sorcery cinema and literature I fell in love with as a kid growing up in the 80s, from Robert E. Howard’s Conan the Barbarian (and the awesome Schwarzenegger movie, STILL my favourite fantasy film EVER), The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit and Ron Howard and George Lucas’ Willow, to the more grown-up and edgy worlds of grimdark masters George RR Martin and (my all-time favourite) Joe Abercrombie, as well as a BIG DOLLOP of Terry Pratchett’s immortal Discworld series. IMPORTANT: This story contains material which some readers may consider to be mature, such as battle violence, some strong language and occasional mild sexual scenes. If this is not your kind of thing, this story is not for you. I am also serializing this story on Tumblr, Wattpad, Quotev and Sweek.

Destined To Die
What is the meaning of life? Is life fun? Is it worth living? These questions are all highly dependent on a person's state of mind, experiences, and environment. However, even individuals who respond negatively to said questions have trouble escaping the life that doesn't seem worth living to them. Most are kept alive by irrational emotions. Fear of the unknown, of pain, or causing pain keeps them struggling day after day, unable to find permanent solutions nor the courage to escape the clutches of life. This story is about one such individual struggling in a new world with infinite possibilities. Will he be drowned by life once more or rise and find meaning in a new, unforgiving world? On Hiatus. I'm sorry.
