《Master of the System》Chapter 146

Bullet King sat on a stool with one leg crossed over the other, his right ankle resting against his left knee. He was in the cockpit of a compact spaceship, one he had commissioned by the best of the best within the coalition. He had reinforced the material with his own spiritual energy, strengthening it beyond mortal limits. It could collide with a planet and likely come out the other side completely intact. Right now, he was blockading the Moon Lotus Sect, preventing ships from coming in and going out, cashing out a favor to a higherup within the coalition. Being a false immortal didn’t mean cultivating all the time without any responsibilities; rather, he had plenty of responsibilities because of all the favors he owed people for helping him become so strong.
Bullet King’s eyebrows raised. A ship was approaching. He had already warned them about what would happen if they launched a ship into space in an attempt to enter the teleportation portal, and as a false immortal, he wasn’t one to break his word. He wasn’t going to shoot the ship down; he definitely didn’t want any bad karma. Instead, he was going to send the passengers back home, confiscate the ship, then inject his spiritual energy inside of it, converting it into one of his many weapons. With a mere thought, Bullet King’s ship surged forwards, appearing before the oncoming whale-like vehicle in an instant. He broadcasted his voice through the ship’s speakers. If the oncoming ship had a receiver, it would be able to interpret his message. “Hold it right there. Who said you could pass?”
The ship stopped moving. A moment later, Bullet King’s receiver picked up a message which he allowed to play. An old man’s voice came through the speakers. “This is Ancestor Vremya, false immortal of the Moon Lotus Sect. Quit blockading our teleportation gate, or I’ll be forced to stop you through violence.”

Bullet King furrowed his brow. False immortal? He checked his bracelet, and sure enough, there was news about a soul-seed cultivator succeeding in a tribulation on the federation’s grounds. How did the federation produce two false immortals in a row? It wasn’t like false immortals were cabbages that could be easily grown. They were supposed to appear once every generation of soul-seed cultivators, not every five hundred years. Bullet King shook his head. He still had no idea what happened to the last false immortal from the federation. She hadn’t showed her face after he left her with Jade. For some reason, Bullet King felt like a bully. Why was he always being challenged by the newly ascended false immortals? “You’ve only just become a false immortal. I’ll tell you what I told the last false immortal. Go back and train for a thousand years. I’ll still be here by the time you’re done.”
“It seems like I’ll have to resort to violence.”
Bullet King shook his head. Why were newly ascended false immortals always so arrogant? It seemed like the saying was true: newborn calves really didn’t fear tigers. Through the windshield, Bullet King saw someone exiting the opposing vehicle. In return, Bullet King slapped his armrest, and the whole ship was stowed inside of his interspatial ring. He waved his hand, and hundreds of thousands of different firearms from every era appeared in the space behind him. Sound didn’t travel through space, but spiritual energy could still be transmitted and read. “Your face looks a bit familiar.” As a false immortal, Bullet King didn’t have to meet with a lot of people. If he recognized someone, then he must’ve seen them on the news. “You’re the greatest cultivator of the gathering, aren’t you? For your contribution to mankind, I’ll be sure to take it easy on you. Let me see what you’re made of.”

Grandpa Vremya harrumphed and crossed his arms. Nine distortions in space appeared around him, causing Bullet King to furrow his brow. As far as he understood, the Moon Lotus Sect was one focused on ice techniques, but from what he was seeing, it seemed like the old man’s ability was related to gravity or space instead. Gravity, space, and time were acknowledged as the most difficult paths to gain any attainments in, so how was it that a man managed to become a false immortal with gravity engraved on his foundation? As a test, Bullet King fired a volley with every one of this floating weapons. As expected, the bullets and different projectiles were destroyed, seemingly having vanished into the distortions surrounding the old man. A bitter expression appeared on Bullet King’s face. He wasn’t sure who the bully was anymore. Even with all the technology the coalition had developed, there were none that could deal with a black hole.
Grandpa Vremya sent one of the black holes forward, using the remaining eight to guard his body. He hadn’t attempted the tribulation of the body yet, but nothing could get past his defences, not unless his opponent knew techniques involving time or space. The black hole charged forward, and Bullet King maneuvered his weapons out of the way, not willing to let them make contact with the distortion. Did he really have to fall back here, forced away by a newly ascended false immortal? Even though his body was immensely strong, he wasn’t going to test his flesh against a black hole. His mind was also capable of controlling hundreds of thousands of objects at once, but that didn’t matter either. Any attacks sent towards the black hole would just make it larger. “Isn’t your ability too much of a cheat?”
“Isn’t your ability just too weak?” Grandpa Vremya asked back.
Bullet King frowned. Even if he took out his special weapon, the BAR, it wouldn’t be able to do anything to his opponent. In fact, it’d be easier for his opponent to hit him since the target would be much larger. If this gravity-based false immortal decided to attack the coalition, wouldn’t they be like helpless rabbits? The only way to stop this false immortal would be through dissuasion. If he attacked the coalition, then Bullet King would attack the federation in turn. Other than that, there wasn’t a true method to deal with Grandpa Vremya. In that case, fighting would be meaningless at this point. “Let’s call a truce? I won’t personally interfere with the federation, and in return, you won’t personally interfere with the coalition.”
Grandpa Vremya stroked his beard. It was nice interacting with a smart individual. Rather than using their fists to talk, wasn’t it better to use their brains and come up with a mutually beneficial arrangement? “Sounds fair,” Grandpa Vremya said and nodded. “Shall we do that then?”
Bullet King exhaled and nodded in return. Thankfully, this false immortal was much more reasonable than the previous one. Just thinking about her made him frustrated. She used her fists to think, and she was willing to fight a losing battle just for the sake of it. For a while, he had believed only crazy individuals could become false immortals, but with the appearance of this old man, he had been proved wrong. Rational people could become false immortals too. Currently, the ratio of crazy to rational false immortals in the intergalactic society was one-to-one.
