Chapter 10

Deciding to forget about that incident I urged my friends to move forward.

There is a mountain to climb and a strong foe to slay or to coerce into helping us.

It didn’t take long until we were on the base of the mountain, the girls managed to relieve themselves of their frustration and we were back to being the happy little party climbing a mountain of death and desolation. Quite the fun

I took everyone up using shadow projection which teleported us long distances vertically.

It took us four jumps to make it to a tunnel hole within the top of the mountain, which clearly seemed where whatever it was we were looking for would be waiting. The plagued and corroded entrance only served as an indication that something was in.

I thought that I would get a notification about entering this place, perhaps something similar to what happened back at the dragon’s entrance, but nothing happened.

It was a bit dark, nothing I couldn’t manage but my friends here seemed rather reluctant on moving inside where there might be an enemy they can’t see.

I lit my right hand that had a chain over it, which clearly served to light the place.

“Turn that off!!” roared a voice that made the hair on my back stand to end.

It was a gurgling voice, like if someone spoke under water.

Once I looked inside I saw what it was.

It was a huge, disgusting, black slime.

Pestilence

(One of the four horsemen)

Lathed and hated for his ability to corrupt whatever he comes in contact with, he was exiled by the divine to the lower realm, forever he had a hate towards their oppression and developed a hunger for their essence

Level (Unidentified)

The way it reacted to light or fire seemed rather interesting, it is either he has a weakness towards it, or that staying in shade then meeting light was a bit uncomfortable, so I dimmed it out, but didn’t fully turn it off and asked

“I think you know why I am here.”

“Yes, I do, but it seems that Abaddon failed to stop you, should I bother doing it myself?”

“Actually it was Shiva that intervened we didn’t have a hand in taking out that guy, still if you know why I am here why would you try and chance us out?”

“You seek to overthrow the divine, something that I truly want to aid you with, but you have no idea what you are facing, even one of them will prove to be a huge problem, the whole lot is an impossibility to defeat, not even I is able to win a fight against them”

“There is no need to fight them head on, I know I don’t have the strength to do it, but there is something that might.”

“I have no knowledge of a being that can overthrow them, it is impossible”

“Don’t be narrow-minded, I didn’t say it was just one, but a collection of beings that are in dispute with these so-called Divine,”

“You mean the ones imprisoned within hell, they will not agree…”

“Oh, but they will,” I said as I showed him the seal of hell linked to the cuff of divination.

“That is the seal of hell! You managed to acquire both of them… I can say I am impressed, but still, why should I give you the one I have?”

“So you do have it, I thought my journey was for naught, as for why my task is simple, I will seek their fall from the top, but in doing so, those in hell needs to follow my will, to unlock their seal I need the parts and you hold the one I need before I go find the last piece”

“You seem sure about your quest to the upper realms but how will you get there?”

“That is a hurdle I will cross once I get it, the most important thing is to get the other piece-”

Yet before I could continue on with my ramblings,

“Someone is here…” said the slime

And a lout Thud was heard.

“You better leave this place for one such as this being to come will immensely compromise your task, here take this and run. You are not strong enough to fight this” said the slime as he threw me the third piece of the seal, it was a black jewel that shimmered faintly, I didn’t have the time to inspect it as whatever that landed near this place sounded huge enough to cause us great trouble.

“Let’s go!” I said to the guys that just go their bearings, though they seemed useless while I was conversing with a being that could literally kill them with a glance.

Amazingly the conversation went better than I expected. I was already thinking of ways to escape if things went south, but it didn’t seem to be the case here.

Once we were out, I was tempted to look at whatever it was that caused that miniature earthquake

Unsatiable consumer

A being that lost his humanity to seek power, once a hero now turned to a mindless beast willing to kill and maim to grow stronger.

“Yuji?” that is Yuji? Said Haruka as she saw the hulking beast, with a humanoid form

It was huge, barely able to sustain itself, as it stood while supporting himself with his freakishly long arms

He looked at us, flesh rippled, skin burnt and charred, filled with blisters and scum, and said

“I came back for vengeance!” he said in a fit of rage, as he stomped the ground, nothing more than a beast in humanoid form, all the signs of sanity removed from his ire-filled eyes

This was no longer a human, he was turned to this thing, due to them, by them… and for their own usage, I should have probably killed him before he turned to this, nit out of fear, but out of mercy, even if he had burnt down within the torrent of souls he would have still not changed to this abomination…

I must be contradicting myself, I shouldn’t hide behind words, I am cruel, I know it, I became it because I had too…but this is going too far.

I jumped forward, instantly entering battle mode as I summoned my chains, and swung them around the beast

“you came to die, and I shall deliver”

“Daiki!” roared the entity that I refuse to call it Yuji

A shot of blinding ray came out from its mouth and toward me, which I easily dodged, and struck with my chains

Dealing absolutely no damage.

Is it immune?

I summoned a ball of flame and struck that also did nothing, even soul magic was useless.

“Weak!” said the beast as he struck me with its backhand, something that I should have been able to dodge, even if not my ability to perceive imminent damage should have activated, but I guess it would only work if I was to receive fatal damage.

I bounced around the ground for a bit before I got my bearings.

There is no way to beat this thing in a regular way, I don’t even know why it is here and what drove him… but I knew that whatever it is it is not friendly to have this thing at us.

“Die!” he said as both his hand glowed as he struck the ground down where two pillars of golden flame rose to ignite the world.

The pillars came closer and closer to me, and I could feel their intense heat, though I was immune to fire, this was not fire…

I used shadow step to dodge the incoming torrent of flame and appeared behind this thing.

There was no need to fight this with brute force, no need to do any of that, I have been holding on an ability for long enough now, it seems that it is the time to use it.

Touching the back of the thing I spoke

“Abigor’s touch!”

I spoke then the beast was lit with blue flames.

“Was this supposed to hurt?” said the thing in a crude voice.

It was not supposed to hurt indeed.

A moment later the thing’s arms began to crumble

This was an ability I needed to use as least as possible for it is probably my strongest weapon against the divine.

“What have you done to me?!” it said to which I was carefree and didn’t bother to answer.

You will die, cleaned out of this filth…

A bolt of lightning struck the ground as I stood watching, between me and the crumbling monster stood a man, adorned in golden armor, his hair like a golden fire that moved and swayed as if it lived for a moment

“Pitiful,” said the man

Another demigod, this one had no description of him and looked to be strong… too strong, as I fear that this is what pestilence warned us about.

“You failed to even be a threat to this Being oh Yuji, let your soul be consumed and your body perishes, for that the sacrifice of Dementi shall not go to waste.” He said as he ignored the dying entity

“I needed him to distract you for a moment before my plan goes to work, though he was weak and proved to be of no challenge he still managed his task.

Distract me? I have a bad feeling about this.

I looked up to my friends, it is strange I called them that, but they had a look of fright on them.

The sky opened as four huge ripples cut through space

Four enormous entities floated in the sky

They were colored blue, and had no legs, no they floated on smoke

Their lower body was that of smoke as they rose they summoned four enormous circles of light

They all had a distinguishing color, to each one was under one of the four giants.

They then began chanting some old words

“What are you doing?” I spoke

“You were deemed unwanted, your presence is making unwanted turbulence within the world, so you need to go”

“Where to?” I spoke defying the being “I don’t think that The circles of hell proved enough of a challenge. And I am sure you know I will not be killed, so please move along as I have not the time for this…you see I am on a task, a task to slay you all, but you must surely know of this right?” I said

“Indeed, and for that, you shall be hammered down,” he said

I didn’t want to know where he is going with this but I needed to leave, for that whatever those four giants were making, didn’t give me a good feeling about things.

I tried to use shadow step to get back to my party, but my legs refused to move

The ability didn’t work

Then I heard a ringing in my head, and it only kept getting stronger and stronger

Seal of Solomon

You have been weakened, all of your abilities will be sealed within the next 30 seconds

Ability to teleport outside the casting zone has been neutralized

Thirty seconds? There is no way I can beat this in 10 seconds

I raised my hand up gathering the soul energy within me and cast soul eruption

If beating this being is impossible in ten seconds, then I have just to cancel or disrupt those that were casting this spell.

But the moment the ball began to glow the being disappeared from view, he turned into a bolt of lightning and struck me in the guts sending an enormous surcharge of lightning flowing in my body.

I began shaking uncontrollably from the electric shock

Shit, shit, shit!

God damn it, once I fall for whatever this thing’s plan is, so would e everyone… he will probably kill them, and they have yet to take a hold over their new power…

My body refused to answer me, my mind was reeling and I found no way out of this mess

Until a man appeared

This Man, however, appeared where Gilgamesh stood as if he replaced him…

“Hey Daiki, it been long,” said a voice of something I really didn’t need to hear right now, this

“There is no time…” I spoke to the being that appeared out of nowhere. Truthfully I have no idea how he got here…

“Get me out of here!”

“Sorry I can’t do that, this seal is on you and only you, I can’t get it off you, but I can help your friends,” he said

The gears on my mind began to turn uncontrollably, this one was not to be trusted, really not to be trusted, but whatever it is, he managed to escape that place on his own, and with his ability, getting the girls out should not be a problem…

“Alright then, until we meet again,” he said as he wanted to leave but I said, against my better judgment

“Take these… Give them all to Haruka…” I said as chains began to wrap under my body, and over it. they appeared from underground and from the magic circles

Chains again…

These chains linked to mine and made me unable to control anything.

The one before me left as I saw him appearing on the top of the mountain, and disappearing with everyone else.

This was my fault for ignoring the fact that there are stronger beings than I, that they can always fuck you up. this was my fault for taking my immortality for granted.

The four magic circles topped each other while the giant beings pushed them to grow wider.

I never got to inspect them.

You have been sealed may you rest within this place for all eternity you who had gained the ire of the Divine

The world turned white for a moment, then it was dark

I was unable to see anything where my body felt like if it was mommified with chains.

Well, this certainly turned to shit, I can’t move, cant breath cant do anything, it somehow reminds me of the time where I was inside that tomb

That time I managed to get out of there due to the lack of severity of that situation, though I was dead, I was still able to move and managed to get my way out of that situation, but now there was no way to get out of here, not with these chains and my inability to do anything…

Well, at least I have some people who might get a way out of this mess for me… though I think it will not be that simple

Especially if Beelzebub was with them…
