《The Divine Path》Chapter 6: Fame and Fortune

Sora, Blossom, and LeeLee came up to a small cottage in the woods that was surrounded by chickens. Sitting on a chair in the front of the cottage was a thin man who looked like a farmer that was spreading grain across the ground, watching the chickens as they swarmed around him. The farmer noticed Sora and his party approaching so he tucked away the pouch of grains and walked towards them. The farmer had a confused look on his face as he looked at the two girls that he had never seen before. Sora stepped up to the farmer first.
“Hello again, sir. These two ladies accompanied me to slay the silver wolf, if not for them I would surely be dead.”
“They do look quite capable… I suppose this means you completed my request?”
Sora pulled out the silver fur and handed it to the farmer. The fur was soft to the touch yet when the group was fighting Luna, The Silver Wolf it felt as if they were striking an iron wall. The farmer took the fur and started to examine the fur carefully.
“Hoho, I didn’t expect you to be able to keep the fur in such good condition. As for your reward… How about I make you a piece of equipment from this fur?”
“Oh? This farmer here is an armor smith?”
“Hehehe, not quite not quite. Wolves come here a lot so I have fought them many times, I ended up with so much fur that I decided to start tailoring them into cloaks. I can make you a cloak from this fur, I’m sure it would provide warmth when needed and a generous amount of defense considering the quality of this fur.”
“That is acceptable, I will entrust the task to you then.”
“Alright, it shouldn’t take long so you can just wait here for a moment.”
The farmer brought the fur into the cottage and closed the door behind him.
“Mister fisherman, are you sure me and LeeLee will also get a reward?”
“As long as you were able to accept the quest, you will be able to get a reward. It should be something closely resembling my reward.”
“I sure hope so, that silver fur was so beautiful~”
After just a couple minutes the door to the cottage opened and the farmer came out with three different style cloaks. The first cloak was a small cloak that tapered to one side and was hooded. The farmer walked up to LeeLee and gave that cloak to her. The second cloak was a full cloak with a hood, it’s design was very basic but the silver fur made it look very elegant. The farmer handed this cloak to Blossom. The last cloak was similar in design to the one Blossom had received except it came to a taper at the bottom middle and featured a elegant picture of a moon in the center. The farmer handed this cloak to Sora.

Hidden quests are definitely very lucrative. Within 2 hours Sora, Blossom, and LeeLee obtained a total of three levels, five pieces of rare gear, and two skills each. The party of three was very far ahead in gear and skills and just slightly ahead in levels.
…..
The entire game was in an uproar, three players managed to get two server announcements within 10 minutes of each other. The rewards were enough to make other players drool and incited envy amongst over half the players. The forums were blowing up talking about who these three players were.
“Simmering Sun - Ethereal, Sister Blossom, and LeeLee. Anyone ever hear these names in other games?”
“Reverse Action - They must be part of a big guild, to achieve so much.”
“Three Pants - Pffft, I bet they were just lucky, I’ve never heard their names. I doubt they will accomplish anything else in the future.”
“Basic Slime - The guy above me is suuuper jealous, luck can’t kill a Rare boss or else I would be sleeping with four leaf clovers every night!”
“Snail Race - LOL maybe you're onto something Basic Slime… Does anyone know where I can buy four leaf clovers?”
One player was reading the forums with a grim face, he had blonde hair, green eyes, and a face that permeated an aura of ‘I’m too good for you’. He suddenly slammed his hands on his desk and threw his keyboard across the room.
“BASTARDS!”
Of course this man was Julius, he was actually the leader of a fairly large guild in other MMORPGs and has always been the one to make others feel despair, this was his first time being pushed to the edge by some no name players. Julius opened his desk and pulled out another keyboard, he seemed to have quite the temper as he had several back up keyboards. Julius pulled up a page with the title “Multi-Million” and started to make a post.
“Julius - Anyone who see’s Ethereal, Sister Blossom, or LeeLee. KILL. ON. SIGHT.”
“Green Envy - Ohhhhhhh, someone made boss man mad. Don’t worry boss, anyone who messes with our guild won’t have a happy ending.”
“Boring Killer - Hehehe this should be fun.”

“Sophisticated Friend - Wait, aren’t those the players who just got two server announcements?”
“Junk Junky - How did we make such strong enemies? Oh well, it’s only three people, what can they do?”
…..
Sora, Blossom, and LeeLee all returned to town and made their way to the store to sell off junk items and to restock on basic supplies. Sora ended up buying a few more health potions and decided that he should go fishing again to restock on food and get the last bit of EXP needed to level up to 15 so he could transport to the capital.
“Ooo! Take us with you and teach us how to fish too!”
“Eh? Are you sure? You didn’t seem too interested in it when we first met.”
“That was before I realized how good the buffs from eating are, this plain bread only sates hunger, it does nothing else for me. Pleeeease~?”
Sigh
“Fine, you will have to buy a fishing pole and shovel though.”
“Yay! Thank you mister fisherman.”
Blossom happily bought two fishing poles and two shovels, she gave one of each of them to LeeLee. The trio went out of town as people who saw them started to whisper amongst themselves. Sora heard the whispers and didn’t really care. Blossom heard them and proudly pushed her chest forward and held her head high, enjoying her moment of glory. LeeLee was very uncomfortable and stuck to the back of Blossom.
“Hey, aren’t those two girls the ones who were announced two times just a little while ago?”
“Yes, yes they are which means that guy in front must be Ethereal.”
“I can’t believe they were in our beginner town this entire time! I have to tell my friends about this!”
Sora noticed that they were drawing a little too much attention and informed Blossom and LeeLee that they could hide their profile information. Blossom reluctantly started to change her information to private and LeeLee had almost instantly set her options to private as soon as Sora told them how. The trio finally made their way to the river after a short walk, instead of fishing in the same spot as last time, Sora decided to cross the river and head down to where two rivers connect.
“Alright, this spot should be good. Now, start digging.”
“Digging? Why? Shouldn’t we be fishing?”
“You have to have bait to be able to fish.”
“Eh? That much detail just to go fishing? You know a elegant lady such as myself shouldn’t have to dirty my hands with such labor, how about you d-”
“No.”
“What if-”
“No.”
“B-but-”
“Can’t you be a little more like LeeLee? Look at how diligent she is.”
As Sora and Blossom were talking LeeLee had already started to dig for bait, when she heard Sora compliment her she shyly turned away and continued digging frantically. Blossom was sulking but started to dig anyways. It was quite surprising to Sora that the girl who was so full of energy was reluctant to dig while the timid girl who sometimes seemed lethargic was the one who worked diligently. A couple of hours passed by until they stopped digging and Sora started to teach them to fish.
“The key to fishing is keeping focus without losing patience. Sometimes you can fail to fish 10 times in a row, you just have to keep going to raise your level, the higher the level, the more you succeed. Don’t be discouraged if you miss the fi-”
Just as Sora was about to motivate them when they failed their first attempt they both hooked a fish and brought it to shore. They were barely the size of a finger but they still caught a fish, it could be considered quite lucky to succeed in their first attempt.
…..
“Hehehe this is my 5th catch in a row mister fisherman, what were you saying about it being hard?”
Sora was staring at his fishing line gloomily as the trio fished. Blossom and LeeLee have had incredible luck in fishing and quickly raised their levels to 5. Meanwhile Sora had already failed four times in a row with his level 9 fishing. Sora finally was able to catch a fairly big Feline Fish Snapper and was about to gloat about it when suddenly LeeLee hooked an item. Sora ran over to her side and talked her through when to let the reel go and how to maneuver the rod until the sight of a wooden fish could be seen coming to shore.
“You're quite lucky LeeLee, open the box and let’s see what you got.”
LeeLee opened the box to reveal a silver ring with a pearl placed into the top of it, surrounded by inscriptions of waves. LeeLee shared the stats with the party.
[Ring of the Shallow Sea]
Rarity - Uncommon
Durability - 40/40
Requires - Level 10
“A silver ring that has a breathtaking image of waves crashing against a shore. A polished pearl has been inlaid into it to serve as the centerpiece.”
+10 Agility
+5 Constitution
+10% Chance for Fishing Skill to succeed
A ring was hard to come by at this stage in the game, it could very well stay with her until up to level 40 or 50. Sora gave an approving nod when LeeLee suddenly did something unexpected. She immediately tried to hand the ring to Sora. Sora had a genuine smile on his face as he declined and made LeeLee wear the ring. It almost looked like Sora had proposed when he helped LeeLee put the ring on her left hand. Blossom had a perverted look on her face as she watched the scene. Realising how it looked, both Sora and LeeLee quickly separated and went back to fishing. The trio repeated the process of digging and fishing, Sora even managed to gain a digging level in the process, until finally…
