《The Divine Path》Chapter 25: Into the Chasm

Sora, Drazi, and the healer were currently waiting within Frost Peak Village, waiting for the Blossom and LeeLee. The two girls had actually been killing a mini boss when Sora messaged them, after they finished killing the mini boss they had hit level 39 and were on their way to the village. If Sora didn't come back to the village then the two girls would have to make their way through the jungle, with Sora they were able to bypass the guards on the road towards Frost Peak Mountain.
Drazi had been wanting to invite Sora to his guild many times as they waited for the replacements for the party. He kept stopping himself from asking, afraid that Sora was already part of a guild. After a lot of struggle Drazi was finally able to squeeze out the question.
“Eth-Etheal.”
“Hmm?”
“As guild leader of The Crystal Dragons, I would like to invite you to join our my guild when we create it.”
“I appreciate the offer bu-”
“Ah nevermind, it was worth a shot hehe.”
“Although I don’t have interest in joining your guild, I still do have interest in forming an alliance when I make my guild.”
“Oh, so you’re making your own guild. I thought you might have been recruited by someone already. An alliance sounds very beneficial.”
“Then it’s settled, once we both have a guild we will officially from an alliance. I’m going to warn you now though, my guild will probably not grow very fast.”
“That’s fine, I would honestly make an alliance with you even if you were the only one in the guild. An alliance is just another way to get more power on your side anyways.”
“That’s true.”
…..
Blossom and LeeLee were currently walking down the road towards Frost Peak Village, along the way they had been talking about a lot of different things; The game, movies, fishing, Sora, and mainly the hidden quest.
“LeeLee, what do you think the reward will be?!”
“Hopefully some new daggers, these ones are starting to become less and less useful.”
“I want another greatsword!”
“Yours is still somewhat new though.”
“Ya but it could be even newer!”
Blossom seemed to be in an even happier mood than usual, it all started when Sora had requested her help. She was currently excited to finally be able to help him in some way, plus she would get to do a hidden quest. It reminded Blossom of the day when Sora had saved her and LeeLee, a warm smile would always appear on her face when she thought about that day. Blossom suddenly calmed down, seeming like she had ran out of energy as she lowered her voice.
“Hey LeeLee…”
“Hmm?”
“Do you think… do you think we are useful to mister fisherman now?”
“Honestly I think we still have a long way to go.”
“Mh.”
Blossom didn’t understand why she was happy when she heard that. She had thought that she wanted to be useful to Sora to repay his kindness, yet she catches herself hoping that she could never repay his kindness, that Sora would ask her for help every time he needed it. She felt a bit selfish when she caught herself thinking this way and tried to shake it off. The last few minutes of the trip were in silence as Blossom tried to organize her thoughts, finally breaking free of them when the sight of Frost Peak Village was in sight.

…..
Sora was currently talking to the healer of the group, he learned that she her name was Descending Angel and that she had been a part of The Crystal Dragons for a very long time. Drazi claimed that she was one of his most loyal guild members and had a very good character, he had wanted to promote her within the guild but she didn’t want the responsibilities. Sora only vaguely recalled a healer that was with Drazi a lot. There were too many players to remember within “The Divine Path” so he can’t be blamed for not remembering Angel.
Sora finally saw two girls walk into the village; One with a huge sword strapped to her back and fiery red hair that made her stand out, the other with a white fox mask and a small stature that made her blend in. The two girls were of course Blossom and LeeLee.
“Mister fisherman, hurry up and invite us to the party, I’m so excited that I can’t wait any longer!”
“Alright, alright. This is Drazi and Descending Angel, they are the two I told you about.”
“Oooooo, your name is definitely suitable miss Angel.”
Blossom started to inspect Angel from top to bottom, she was definitely gorgeous. Long blonde hair, thin waist with curves in the right areas, and a gorgeous face. Blossom didn’t usually feel threatened by looks, she was actually quite proud in the way she looked, but Angel definitely gave her a run for her money. LeeLee didn’t seem to care either way, she was simply nervous that new people would be with them. Angel started to feel bad when she saw how LeeLee was hiding from her, she introduced herself to Blossom normally but made sure to lower her voice when talking to LeeLee.
“Nice to meet you Blossom. Nice to meet you LeeLee.”
“Yup! Let’s work well together!”
“N-nice to meet you too.”
It seems that Angel made the right choice as LeeLee responded with a proper greeting. Drazi was more unlucky as he was able to get a greeting from Blossom but LeeLee had stayed hidden.
“Alright, I’ll share the quest with you two, let’s get going as I fill everyone in on the situation so far.”
The party passed by the guards on the road without any problem, as they walked Sora started to tell the party information on the hidden quest. He basically summarized it as the mountain having a mana influx so he had to get Gzarna to come investigate and stabalizing a demonic energy that was leaking from the mountain. The smaller details were only filled in if anybody asked about it. Drazi seemed to be very interested in Gzarna, as a mage he wanted to get close to any mage NPC that was important. He had heard about Gzarna but never seen her so this was a good opportunity. The party made it to the camp site relatively quickly, not realizing that their speed was a little faster than normal due to excitement.

The group entered the cave and started to make their way through many twists and turns, luckily Sora knew the way or else they might have taken a couple hours just to get through this part. The cavern where Sora defeated Visux was where Gzarna was currently at. When the party walked into the cavern they were greeted with the sight of a giant silver barrier with what looked like a female mage standing in front of it. In front of the mage was a giant crack in the ground, making what seemed like a chasm. The silver barrier was placed on the other side of the chasm to keep the corrupted soldiers away. The mage was Gzarna, except right now her hair had grown so long that it could touch the floor, if not for the mysterious force that was currently blowing it back. Her hair had turned silver and she didn’t look like the eccentric mage anymore. Sora hadn’t gotten close to Gzarna in his past life so this was new to him, if not for some minor features that could be seen plus him knowing that Gzarna was currently in the cavern then he might have not even known it was her.
“Ethereal! I need your help!”
Even her voice was completely different, her past voice seemed like it was perverted in some way but her voice now seemed like there was an angel whispering into your ear. Sora ran towards Gazarna as soon as he was called.
“What’s going on?”
“The corrupted energy is accumulating, I would normally be able to easily go extinguish the source but the soldiers would all die if I leave them to fight these demonic creatures. You're going to have to go down into the chasm to find the source of the energy, it shouldn’t be too powerful. Take this orb with you, you can use it to create a barrier of the Purging Element. I don’t know enough to completely guide you but I believe you can handle it.”
“Understood Gzarna, I won’t let you down.”
[x1 Orb of Purging]
Cooldown: 1 minute
Requires: Only usable in Frost Peak Mountain
-Use this to create a 5 meter barrier around you, stopping all corrupt damage to targets within.
The group was completely astounded by everything that was happening, they were still standing at the entrance, looking at Gzarna. They snapped back to reality when Gzarna suddenly pushed the barrier forward, giving the group plenty of space to go through the chasm. Sora led the group down a walkway that was filled with level 45 -Corrupted Soldier-. Blossom was the first to initiate with [Savage Pounce] and [Overwhelm], her damage wasn’t as shocking as Sora’s but it was still jaw dropping. Drazi started to cast [Fireball] at the same target while LeeLee used [Accurate Strike]. Blossom had already used [Savage Pounce] again, putting her in front of another corrupted soldier. This time Blossom dodged the first attack and positioned herself near the wall of the chasm, while her enemy was about to throw another attack in her direction she used [Shoulder Bash] to push him off of the walkway and into the chasm. Blossom then went to attack the first soldier again but it died before she got there.
Sora was impressed, when he had seen the narrow walkway he had a similar thought and wanted to see if Blossom would figure it out. Not only did she figure it out but she also used it on a separate enemy after dealing a large chunk of damage to the first one. Angel didn’t have to heal anyone this time since the enemies were killed so quickly, she didn’t even know you could kill an enemy by knocking them off the cliff.
The group continued to go down the walkways, pushing an enemy off the cliff every now and then. Angel felt incredibly useless as she watched her team mow through each enemy. She finally felt she had a chance when four soldiers aggroed onto Blossom. Then Blossom did something that even surprised Sora. She pulled all of the enemies towards the edge of the cliff before using [Devastating Quake] to knock all of them off balance, directly making two of the enemies fall off. She followed up with a [Shoulder Bash] on another one, knocking that enemy off too. Angel watched with her mouth agape as her one moment to shine was crushed in front of her. Sora was also stunned as they finished off the last enemy with ease. He didn't know Blossom had gotten a skill since the last time he seen her.
“Hehehe, what do you think mister fisherman? I’m the best aren’t I?”
“You are definitely a killing machine… Alright, I admit defeat in this area. There is no way I can kill more than you.”
“W-wait, you can totally do it, why don’t we make a bet?”
“I’m not satisfying your weird desires this time Blossom, I only humored the bet last time… how was I supposed to know about your weird fetishes.”
Sora looked at LeeLee who was covering her masked face with red ears as Sora reminder her of when he said she was cute, he sighed as Blossom watched gleefully before turning to explain to Drazi and Angel what he was talking about. Drazi was still stunned from the killing spree that Blossom had went on and Angel seemed to have the same perverted look on her face as she looked at the blushing LeeLee. Sora was worried for the future of this quest.

I was Reborn as the Villainess but I will become a Great Sage
Nova Allandis, formerly known as Suna Lee, remembers her previous life and realizes her current life is as the villainess in a fantasy novel she once read. However, as Suna, she was the laziest person with no motivation, possibly attributed to the fact that she didn't go into a major that was her strongest suit. Now that she has a high affinity towards magic and wishes to go into it, will she be able to change her lazy self for the better, or will she go back to being lazy like the villainess in the novel? Can she become a Great Sage and live life happily this time? Note: This is not a "revenge of the villainess" novel, but rather a "rise to fame" novel. A/N: This is just an experimental novel and criticisms are much appreciated, but I'm extremely defensive of my own work and characters. If you are here to put down a novel, please remember, first of all, you are not paying anything to read this, and second of all, authors are humans too.

This is a story of two old men trying to free from the shackle of their destiny set in a future only to await their impending doom. This is a story of a dead god, and of a storyteller, trying to break from the bonds of the past. And as their stories go, one of them will face the events that unfold in their distant past, as the other one will unveil its mystery predicted by its future. Is it a mistake to challenge fate, after all? *** The world-building is set upon on the universal scale, with dungeon and old-style fantasy. It has a progression that follows with the consistency of a dungeon setting, although it's not what you call a dungeon, but a function of a crystal. There's a lot to take in this novel, but that's all within my intention. I have always enjoyed challenging conventional ideas. The cover is not mine, it's just temporary.
