《Experimental Wuxia Novel》Background Check 5

‘Oh good, the violence has ceased temporarily,’ thinks the creature. After the human said something about it not being a beast, the other one had jumped away. Maybe they had rules against unprovoked assault if the being in question wasn't classified as an animal. “The term is humanoid, by the way. Not even sure if humanize is a word.”
Actually, considering the fact it was getting the word through the translator, that probably was a word, or the closest it could come to the concept in their language. Through context, that would imply she had said something along the lines of it being an animal that had transcended it's animal roots to gain a full consciousness as humans have. Not too far off the mark, really. Still, it had been created this way rather than having experienced any sort of personal growth, so humanoid was still a more accurate designation for it; it didn't imply that it had ever grown as a person.
Aside from having been grown as a person.
That was philosophy though, and it would rather not get into an existential argument with itself about the nature of personhood. There were other things to do, like lay down for a few minutes until it stopped having only one arm. Couldn’t do that in front of the human though, had to maintain basic decorum. Because of reasons.
Oh whoops, it had spaced out thinking for a good seven seconds and hadn't noticed the human laying down again. The lack of response probably should have clued it in to the slight disengagement from the conversation.
“Anything interesting down there?”
The human knelt with its head still on the ground. Maybe the helmet was a bit too heavy for balance on them as well. It was going to have to find the other pieces as soon as possible. And it had forgotten to actually listen to the response.

“What was that? I don't think I caught it.”
Huh, judging from the displacement of dirt from around the helmet, the force generated is in the downward direction. Must have turned on the reverse camera. Usually it set that as a small window out of the center of the viewscreen, but on startup it would always be in fullscreen. Always one problem or another with technology. There was probably a system setting somewhere that would adjust bootup dimensions, but it was a mild enough inconvenience that it hadn't spent the time to mess with the menus and find it. Program issues always had a simple enough solution built in anyway.
“Sudo quit reverse camera.”
And up comes the head. Flawless logic, perfect execution. Wouldn’t be too much longer until its regeneration kicked in, might as well ask some questions to fill the time and actually listen to the response for once.
“That guy. What was he up to? Didn’t even say anything.”
The human stands stock still for a moment, then speaks quickly, “He is the field supervisor sent to oversee this village area by the Chaotic Demon Sect, and he has returned to them in order to marshal a subjugation squad to deal with a beast ranked too highly for him to destroy himself.”
Well. That was a bit inconvenient. He had been strong enough to punch it through walls, and now it was going to have to deal with stronger humans? Without its armor, it couldn’t even really run away properly. Unfortunately, gravity still worked.
“How did he figure out that it was beyond his means to do any kind of meaningful damage to me?”
“After I scanned him, I noticed he was almost out of stamina while you weren't even bothering to block, and I reminded him that a beast had to be Rank Six to take on a human form.”

Ah, so because it wasn't entirely genetically human, it resembles a powerful creature in this places’ hierarchy. The best course of action was probably to get out of here before the gank squad got here.
“When would you guess the busters are going to show up?”
“Probably by midday.”
With the sun near the horizon, that probably left it enough time to check for a direction to head and start moving. It would probably leave a trail, but it could just not sleep ever again. It’d get slowed down by the helmet until it had at least torso and legs properly attached though, so it would need to ensure the assistance of the human.
“Sudo ping armor locations, save to minimap. Would you kindly escort me to the nearest one of those dots?”
Since it wasn’t wearing it, it didn’t hear the ping, but there was certainly a reaction from the human when it got responses back from the other pieces. Said human seems fairly good at maintaining their composure though, as they had a response ready almost immediately.
“With my lack of strength, I’m afraid that this one would only slow you down in your quest.”
Eh. This kind of misunderstanding had the potential to be amusing, but it was probably best to nip it in the bud.
“Sudo scan me.”

Big fantasy worlds. Multiple cultures, lots of characters, many different types of magic--this story is expansive rather than closely focused on a narrow storyline. Progression fantasy that takes its time. Our main character will be progressing through magical ranks, but this is going to be a lengthy story. If you're more about the journey than the destination, this might be the book for you. [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]

Tale of the mage hero [Completed]
so I've been into rising of the shield hero for a while now... a lot of things about it ALWAYS bugged me starting with the fact that the world functions like a game and the heroes are supposed to fight together in a party.... BUT WHERE'S THE ARCHMAGE?! THE BLATANT DISRESPECT TO THE MAGE CLASS IS REAL AND ANGERING! so I decided as a gamer who rather enjoys being a mage and healer, I'd rectify that. and other things. for all intents and purposes this is a self insert but I will be using my proxy OC that I use in my nutty fangirl daydreams. DON'T WORRY! I'M NERFING MY PROXY! this will follow the plot of the anime because..... I want to. and I'm..... LAZY~! and using the manga is too much trouble and the light novel is 800+ chapters long. So FUCK THAT! anyways if you read this and think it's lackluster then I want to see you try your hand at writing tate no yuusha fics! no that's not a challenge or insult it's just a desperate plea for more tate fics... we need some more variety! Alright I'm gonna be honest here. This story is laughably bad. So read at your own risk. The only reason I'm not revising it is because 1 I'm Lazy as fuck and 2 to serve as a lesson on what NOT to do for new writers. So like I said, read at your own risk.
