Chapter 122
A Dream Come True 2
-:-
The next day
Cathrige Private Ski Resort Royal Suite
Theo sat in front of a large glass window that had a breathtaking view of the snow covered mountain resort.
In front of him was a disgustingly expensive meal that his cheapskate self would never touch even with a 5 meter pole unless it was paid by someone else.
It didn't matter to Theo if he was now decently rich. He would never pay for something so overpriced.
However, since Lord was the one that sent the meal to Theo’s room, who was he to turn down such a kind gesture.
What was this meal?
It was 500 grams of A5 Wagyu Beef AKA the best beef in the world.
Last time he checked, it was approximately 150 Rooks per half kilo. And that was the raw meat minus the shipping cost from Zifang.
Once cooked, the price jumps up to 500 Rooks per half kilo
To the average joe, burning through months worth of rent for 15-20 minutes of munching on the world's finest meat was illogical to the extreme.
Mind you, he might hold a fair bit of disdain of the cost, but that didn't mean he wasn't going savor it.
To go with the A5 Wagyu beef was a pitcher filled with apple juice.
Wine would be the standard partner of such a meal, however, Theo was no fan of alcohol. As someone who had a power that relied heavily on his brain, drunkenness felt as if his eyes suddenly stopped working.
It was uncomfortable and very unnerving.
While he savored his first, and probably last, time eating the beef of the highest quality, he continued to read through the fairly thick stack of documents given to him by the Lord of Vermilion last night.
These papers contained a very detailed account of Lord’s involvement in World War 2. There were receipts, pictures, journal entries, news paper clippings and many other supporting documents that explained and justified every action Lord’s group took.
And since Theo was a paranoid bastard, he came prepared for any potential events during his visit to Lord’s resort. Naturally, double checking documents was one event he was ready for.
Just above the royal suite was a very large helipad where 4 Mil Mi-26 heavy transport helicopters were parked.
3 of these carried Theo, a decent number of his Reformant Units, 5 B-31 Assault Power Armors and all of his elite unit, the Eisenritter.
It wasn't necessary to bring his best unit with him, but this event was the perfect chance to test their bodyguarding skills. So far, he was impressed on how quick they were able to form a solid defensive perimeter without revealing themselves to the other guests in the resort.
Very good.
The last Mil Mi-26 had a vast number of communications and monitoring equipment. One of these was a device that allowed Theo to access the internet and other less reputable source of information with his mind.
Personally, he prefered the good old mouse and keyboard than having the info go straight into his brain. Sure, it was a lot less efficient, but there was a certain charm of doing things the less technological way.
However, the documents were just to numerous for Theo’s liking or patience to go through the old fashion way.
As such, laziness wins out in the end.
He went through the documents at lightning speed while matching it with the info available to him in order to validate it.
All in all, he was deeply impressed with what he saw.

Based on the info at hand, he saw the manipulation akin to Miss Samantha’s but in a global scale. A bribe here, seduction there, a few propagandas aimed towards idiots and a fair bit of strong arming politicians was the recipe that forced the Commonwealth off its ass to join and eventually win the war.
And here’s the kicker.
Apparently, during World War 2, Lord’s group was composed by barely 5000 individuals. Sure, they had more money than God, but they were a small group that moved nations.
Very impressive indeed.
He would love to do an in depth study through these accounts, however, for the sake of information secrecy, Theo was not allowed to bring it home. An understandable measure given the vast amount of damning stuff in it.
As such, Theo did his best to remember as much as he could in the short span of time.
While immersing himself with the documents, the door opened and the twintailed maid-clad tsundere-ish leader of the Eisenmadchen named EM01 entered.
“My lord. The gentlemen named Du Al Ryien and Alial Milza has requested an audience.” said EM01 in an almost emotionless voice.
“Show them in.” replied Theo
FYI: Theo has repeatedly said to the Eisenmadchen to stop treating him like a king. And repeatedly, they said ‘Yes, my lord’ before completely ignoring his instructions.
Theo has reached the point that he has pretty much surrendered on the issue.
Anyways, back to the present.
The Dark Elf Du Al Ryien and the rich shipping mogul Alial Milza entered the room right after EM01
“Good to see you again Theodore Lorne” said Alial Milza
“Indeed. It’s been a month hasn't it? How are you young man?” added Du Al Ryien.
“Not bad considering the circumstances.” replied Theo.
“Oh? I thought that incident with Crow ended with your win. Did she do something?” asked Alial Milza
“Nope. Not her. Are you familiar of the Vigilantes?” asked Theo
Du Al Ryien shrugged. Since he was not from this world, it was pretty obvious that he has no idea of minor details.
“Ah yes. The group of well intentioned extremist that fights the enemies that can't be touched due to being protected by the law.” Said Alial with a face filled with annoyance.
“So you’ve also been slapped with the ‘evil capitalist overlord’ label too?” asked Theo
“Unfortunately…. *sigh*.... They think that I’m siphoning wealth from the poor with my businesses without even entertaining the possibility that I got rich via legal means! Damn bastard. Who do they think employes half of their city?!”
“*sigh*.... And worst of all, they always believe the poor people without thinking that said poor people are lying. The rich are always evil! The poor are always good! Bullshit! The vast majority of criminal scum are poor!”
The thing that the very vocal minority of idiots in the world seemed to ignore was the fact the vast majority of the populace were good people. They don't want to step on their fellow man if they could avoid it.
This also held true to those who stood at the highest excelions of society who, more often than not, paid more monthly taxes that a regular person could earn in their entire life.
Naturally, Theo’s company followed the rules and paid their taxes properly-ish.
Sure, the rich were 100% guilty of bending or breaking some rules, but that didn't change the fact that they were the ones that generated the vast majority of jobs required for a functioning society.
The fact that they were always made to be the villains of society in stories, comics, tv shows and movies was an annoyance.

And it wasn't because of the negative public image it brought them.
It was because the Vigilantes believe such horseshit and often meddled with their affairs
In Theo’s case, the vigilantes have been sniffing around the Vermilion City junkyard and there have been minor skirmishes with some casualties on both sides.
While he won't weep for the deaths of his Reformant units because they were once criminal scum, he did find it annoying when someone breaks his toys.
Those fools will get what’s coming to them.
“Anyways, what’s with the sudden visit?” asked Theo.
“Ah. Right. I got a little too into it. I rarely get anyone to whine with these days. It was refreshing.” replied Alial. “We are here because of 2 things. Let us go with my purpose for this meeting. As we have discussed a month ago, my company will be responsible for shipping your goods to foreign markets throughout the world. Naturally, any company with connections to the Jade Empire will receive nothing. Here are the contracts and other supporting documents.”
Alial passed Theo a fancy leather suitcase with lots of papers within.
“My financial advisors will go through these. If they find no problems, I’ll sign it and send it back.” said Theo. “I hope this is the beginning of a beautiful partnership.”
“Indeed, Theodore Lorne. Indeed.” said Alial as the two shared a firm handshake.
“With that business finished, what can I do for you Lord Du Al Ryien?” asked Theo
“Based on the information provided to me by Count Nosferatu, You were able to capture a few prisoners during your incursion with the Elves in the Vermilion City Sewers. Is this correct?” asked Du Al Ryien
“Yup. We have 5 of them.” replied Theo before carressing the butt of the maid who stood silently beside him. “Isn't that right, EM01?”
“You honor me, my lord.” said EM01 with a hint of joy and lust on her face.
During the incident with the Elves, Theo promised to have hardcore smexy time with the Eisenmadchen who were able to kill the most number of knife ears. Bonus points for those who could take the elves alive.
EM01 not only kill a decent number of them, she was able to capture 2 of the 5 prisoners.
Her reward?
As per EM01’s request, Theo treated her like a dog where he threw verbal insults at her, took her on walks while being completely naked, then violently defiled her in front of many people.
Very kinky indeed and a little bit unnerving on Theo’s part
FYI: While Nichola understood that Theo was simply acting out EM01’s desired reward, it still freaked her out and cursed Juno for being such a horrible influence on the Eisenmadchens.
As for Pani, she didn't care.
Anyways, back to the topic at hand.
“Are they still alive?” asked the worried Du Al Ryien
“Depends on what you mean by alive. One of my wives has a bad habit of experimenting on magical beings.” replied Theo, much to Du Al Ryien’s dismay. “2 of them are…. Alive. Let’s leave it at that. The other 3 are still unharmed. Especially that one guy that was clearly not used to fighting. She said it was no fun bullying the pathetic.”
Du Al Ryien sighed in relief.
“That inexperienced one is Prince Sailas Hal Windrider. A minor player in the High Elf court, but he does have the blood of the reigning Eternal King.”
“Ho ho… Then I assume you want him as a hostage?”
“Correct. Naturally, I’m willing to pay whatever price you name.”
“Is he really that important?”
“Yes. He is that and more.”
Theo thought for a bit before coming to a conclusion.
“I don't mind giving them to you, but I don't know exactly what to ask from a magic based faction such as yours. Let me talk to my wives about it and I’ll send Mr. Alial our price. Is that good?” asked Theo
“Very well. We have a deal” replied Du Al Ryien as the 2 shook hands.
“Good. With all of our official business out of the way, allow me to ask you something.” said Alial
“Sure. Go ahead” replied Theo
“Your company is growing, made a decent number of powerful allies and secured a foothold in Vermilion City. What’s next?” asked Alial
“Huh? What do you mean?”
“I mean, you do have an endgame in mind right? What is that goal and what are the steps you see yourself taking towards that goal?”
The question actually caught Theo off guard.
He does have a very big goal in mind, and he did have some plans cooking in the oven, but when he was asked what he was specifically wanted to do next, he realized how haphazard he has been charging towards his goal.
“My goal is to make the world a better place…..” said Theo with much uncertainty.
As the one with age and wisdom, Alial quickly caught on to Theo’s dilemma.
“Ah. I see… you’re not sure how exactly to go about achieving your goal. An understandable sentiment given how horribly complicated it is for the simple dream of making the world a better place.” said Alial.
Theo mussed for a bit.
In all honesty, the one thing that he was extremely skilled at was to kill criminal scum. All of his plans revolved on killing the scum of the world so that the good people can thrive.
However, he was surprised to discover that with the increase of his military might to become more efficient in killing criminals, the amount of eyes that gazed upon him increased.
Now with the HAA, the city law enforcement, lawmakers and even unknown individuals from god knows where watching his every move, he has felt even more restricted than ever.
“Any advice?” asked Theo
Alial mused for a bit before answering.
“I cant tell you the step by step procedure to get to your goal. That is for you and only you to find out. However, I can tell where you can start looking for clues to your next step.”
“And that is?”
“You are clearly a young man with high levels of drive. How else would you achieve such might and stature despite your age. But what is the origin of this drive? What is the source of the rage that gives you the power to perform great and horrible things? This is the foundation of your greatness and you should build from it. Return to the root of your rage and go from there.”
Alial’s lecture instantly resonated with Theo.
True enough, he has been too preoccupied with expanding towards his goal that he has forgotten to address why he has done such things in the first place.
The origin of his rage was easy to recall.
All he needed to do was sleep.

The year is 2152. Rune Yahui is a nineteen-year-old failure, not having gained entrance to college or the military, with no significant prospects in life. Even worse, Rune is the poorest of the poor, hailing from the mega-slums of New Southern Chicago, the lowest pit of America. In a desperate last-ditch attempt to gain a future more lustrous than toiling the rest of his days away in abhorrent conditions in one of the near sweat-shop level factories that dot the megapolis, Rune signs up for the Virtual Citizen program, a program to cull the excessive world population by transferring just their brains into a video game. In a stroke of rare luck, Rune is admitted into the program and happily submits himself to the surgery and digitization process. Unfortunately for him, he wakes up several hundred years later than he expected... or does he? **Author's Note** This isn't a type of story typical to RRL. You may have noticed LitRPG in the tags, but it's a relatively minor element in the story until later. You may also notice Slice of Life is in the tags. This story is going to be slow and there won't be any power tripping until way later if at all. The focus will be on character development. That doesn't mean I won't still have action/excitement, however. I encourage you to give the story a try. Maybe it will be your thing, maybe it won't. Thanks for even taking the time to read this, and if you do give my fiction a try, I hope you enjoy it. If you don't, well, I hope you find something that you do enjoy. Happy reading!
