《How to Avoid Death on a Daily Basis》End of Book 4 Wrap Up
Advertisement
Hey,
Please read Chapter 131 before reading this.
So that's the end of Book 4. Book 5—Welcome to Nekromel—will start 12th September (EDIT: new date).
I'm also going to change things a bit. I'm thinking of switching to a 3 day schedule (Mon-Wed-Fri) and also planning the story out, maybe even banking a few chapters so I'm not quite so pushed for time.
I've been finding it very hard to write anything but HTADDB recently. Even though I took weekends off, I was so mentally drained I couldn't really function on a creative level. I'd like to finish some of my other projects and to maybe write some side-stories for this one.
If you have opinions or comments about this recent arc feel free to let me know. I know I bitch about the complaints I get, but I do appreciate people caring enough to express their feelings about the characters. I don't necessarily agree, but I do read them all.
A big thank you to all those who have supported me, especially if you donated or are a patron. Also, those who have bought the ebooks on Amazon, I appreciate you paying for something that you've already read for free. It means a lot to me that people are willing to help me keep at this.
I want to take it up a notch with Book 5 and produce something bigger that still tells an entertaining story and also takes the characters on a satisfying journey. The whole reason I started this was to write something that wasn't the same as other serials where characters just repeat the same actions in different settings. I realise some readers find this frustrating (according to my calculations, based on how much better some readers feel the story used to be, I'd say the book peaked approximately 3 days before I started writing it), but I already have ideas for the next arc and Colin won't be the same person by the end of it. Whether that'll be a good thing of not, I can't say.

BTW If you're looking for something to read in the meantime, you might like to try my other story on Royal Road Legend, Grin the Cheat. It's a series of short stories and might give you an idea of how I write when I'm not making it up as I go. Plus, no Jenny! Here's the blurb:
There was a time when heroes roamed between the Four Great Cities. They fought for kingdoms and princesses and they lived and died by their valour. Or so the stories say. The way the minstrels sing it, everyone had a swashbuckling good time.
Nowadays, buckles are rarely swashed. All the great beasts have been slain, all the great treasures unearthed. Princesses are few and far between — the ones worth fighting over, anyway — and the kingdoms have been divvied up between the sons of sons of sons of the heroes of old. No valour required.
Frankly, the hero business is in a sorry state. Luckily for Grin the Cheat, thieving and murder are thriving as usual.
Grin the Cheat (LINK) is currently four short stories, all with endings!
See you in a few weeks.
Cheers,

Enlightened Empire
A prince sent into exile, without the means to fight back. A young man trapped in an unfair world, without the status to bring about change. Combined, they will have both means and status. Armed with advanced knowledge from a strange world, will Prince Corco be able to cut through the injustice, regain his birthright and turn the country of his ancestors into a paradise of true peace, equality and prosperity? "Okay, first step: Let's make some Brandy." ...that's a maybe then. Author's note: I love the idea of kingdom-building novels and think the genre has a lot to offer, but I don't think many authors do them very well. Here is my attempt. The novel has a strong focus on politics and kingdom building, with occasional action and a bit of humor. Have fun. Cover was made by MrZombie Updates three times a week. RTS Roguelike Robot Rampage
A three-stories tall mechanical walker gets orbital-dropped into a grassy field. Its fleshy human pilot who's memories have been stripped is ordered to destroy a strategic installation in the mountains several hundred kilometers away. This facility is part of a globe-spanning, invading AI which has subverted the planet's population into working with and defending it. The pilot has 31 hours to gather allies, build up forces, and break through increasingly fortified defensive lines to reach their objective, before the main army of the AI arrives and destroys them. Warning: Contains gore and other graphic scenes. Cover art inspired by the War of the Worlds illustrated novel. [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]

[HIATUS] Dragon Scythe Online
-ON HIATUS. SORRY FOR THE SUPER LATE WARNING BUT I'M WAY TOO BUSY AT THE MOMENT TO KEEP UP WITH THIS. REST ASSURED, IT WILL BE FINISHED!- "We used to fear the Dragon God... and now we fear the one who saved us." Three young men take their first breaths in Dragon Scythe Online; a knight, a wizard, and a rouge, but all come from outside the world. All three meet mysterious outsiders from outsiders more like them than they know, and all have different goals and explanations as to why they are there. As they quest separately for the legendary Blade Against The Titans, The Dragon Scythe, it becomes readily appearent that some players of this game are more real than others; far more real. When blades are turned player against player, how will the three survive this dark world and come to terms with who they really are? This is a sci-fi fantasy novel with very heavy LITRPG themes. Expect a humorous exterior with a dark twist later on. If you're good with multiple MCs and interconnecting plotlines, then you have found a good read. *In current hiatus until I finish book two in my rebooted fantasy series on amazon, details to follow soon.* Note: big cameos from other Inkrealm Universe characters. The story can be enjoyed without reading the other novels in the universe, but do be aware.
