《Approaching Ascension (Book 1) [Hiatus before Book 2]》Chapter 073

While the coin was descending, Fang Hao had a deep yearning in his mind. He was desperately hoping for the coin to be heads and the Primal Thunder Scripture to be chosen. As the coin approached his height, Fang Hao grabbed it from mid air and looked at the coin. It showed tails.
'So Destiny says to go for Thunder-rock Carapace, but I subconsciously yearn for the Primal Thunder Scripture. Isn't Cultivation like raging against the heavens, fighting destiny and following one's Dao-heart? Well my heart is partial to Primal Thunder Scripture, so the Primal Thunder Scripture it is. But just to be safe, I better buy some good defensive treasures, talismans and spells as more defense is never a bad thing. But I have high hopes for the possible synergy between the Primal Thunder scripture, Divine Vajra Body Scripture and my acquired spirit roots.' decided Fang Hao in his internal monologue.
Fang Hao waited for a few days to catch a transport to the Bronze Scripture Pavilion. It was one of the more common floating lotus looking magic treasure this time operated by a grumpy old man with a huge wart on his nose. He made his way through the hill, being wary of the blue grass surrounding the dirt path and through the first three floors of the Scripture Pavilion and entered the floor for Foundation Establishment Disciples.
He saw the ugly-looking middle aged cultivator with a good disposition looking bored at an idle counter. Fang Hao subserviently approached him and greeted,
“Greetings Senior Brother Wu.”
The ugly-looking Senior Brother Wu broke into a smile, which caused him to look more horrifying. He replied in a good-natured tone, “Greeting little fatty. So you finished deciding on a cultivation technique? Ready to buy some pills and a Cultivation manual?”

Fang Hao had a little bashful looking expression on his face, which did not suit the fatty at all. His bashful expression made him look like a fat perverted pig. “Yes, Senior brother Wu. I have decided on a cultivation technique compatible with my spirit roots and would request you to guide me buying the manual and pills.”
The ugly-looking looking Senior Brother Wu's smile became even more twisted as he was clearly pleased with Fang Hao's reply. “Which Cultivation Technique and how many pills would you like, little fatty?”
Fang Hao replied without any hesitation, “Senior Brother, I would like the Primal Thunder Scripture along with ten foundation establishment pills.”
“Little fatty, Foundation Establishment pills are not tasty snacks to casually munch on. Four foundation Establishment pills are almost always sufficient for a breakthrough. Even, five Foundation Establishment Pills are a overkill for most. And in the last few decades, there is no record of a purchase of more than five foundation establishment pills by any inner disciple.” Senior Brother Wu replied slowly, clearly speaking each word as if he was talking to a retard.
Fang Hao naturally made a hesitant expression on his face and replied, “Senior Brother Wu, my talent is very mediocre. It was due to a series of fortunate events that I could afford resources to cultivate to my present cultivation. I am afraid that I may not succeed in building a foundation in one attempt, so I am keeping some pills for backup.”
“Well that might be so little fatty, but don't take more than five pills at a go unless you want your dantian to explode and cripple your own cultivation. Hope you have enough contribution points for it.” Said Senior Brother Wu in a shrugging manner as he left the counter and beckoned Fang Hao to follow him. Although he was good-natured and gave the appropriate warning to his junior brother, he wouldn't bother too much if the little fatty wanted to cripple himself in anxiety.

They entered a large looking hall with a shelves of jade boxes arranged like a library. In front of the shelves, there was a large continuous counter with multiple disciples in gold robes dealing with similarly dressed junior core disciples. Senior Brother Wu went proudly towards one of the gold robed disciples manning the counter with the fatty in tow.
“Give me 10 foundation establishment pills. And don't let me catch you skimping shavings from any of the pills again.” Senior Brother Wu growled. The disciple had a ugly look on his face, but nevertheless bought 10 small palm sized jade boxes without any protest. Senior Brother Wu examined each of the boxes and grunted in acceptance as he gave his token to the managing disciple. The managing disciple quickly returned the token to Senior Brother Wu after placing it on a crystal disk nearby by. Fang Hao noticed a smoky “100,000” project above the crystal disk as Senior Brother Wu's token was placed on it.
Senior Brother Wu then dumped all the ten boxes on Fang Hao and said in a cheerful tone, “That will be 120,000 contribution points little fatty.” Fang Hao just smiled magnanimously and handed his token over to Senior Brother Wu without protest. When he received his token, he cheeked and found that he had roughly 75,000 contribution points left.
'20,000 contribution points goes to the middleman. Damn. No wonder his counter was empty and all core disciples were avoiding him. He looks ugly, talks nicely and loots unsuspecting retards from their hard earned contribution points.' thought Fang Hao bitterly. Of course he wouldn't dare to express his thoughts vocally. He could see that everyone of the junior core disciples kept a healthy distance from him. Possibly because they were afraid of getting scammed, or beaten-up or both. Senior Brother Wu was humming a merry tune to himself as he gestured Fang Hao to another hall and said.
“Little fatty, just go through that door and request your cultivation manual and you will get it without issues. Remember though, wile you can give the pills to your fellow disciples, you must not give or trade it with outsiders or mortals. And the cultivation technique is for your own personal use only. In no circumstance can you share it with anyone without prior permission.”
“Thank you Senior Brother Wu for your advice.” said Fang Hao as he hurriedly entered through the indicated door. Instead of seeing a Grand Hall like the previous one, he found a small counter with a single core disciple manning it. Fang Hao politely greeted him and requested the Primal Thunder Scripture. He paid 60,000 contribution points and got a jade slip which he had to bind by blood in front of the core disciple. He was informed in a mechanical tone that the jade slip could only be used by him and would destroy itself if he left the boundary of the sect. Fang Hao thanked the senior and made his way back to his residence.

The White Rabbit: Book 2
In the Urillian Empire, the Empress Xandra rules three-quarters of the planet Xren from her home in the capital of the Earth Continent. Both the fire and water peoples have fallen under her might after a series of wars stretching back three centuries. Earth elves, under Xandra's rule, have spread throughout the planet and established colonies, and are, by all accounts, enjoying what seems to be a prosperous and happy existence. But not everyone in Uril is happy. The holy books speak of elves as the Chosen People of Thesis, tasked with guiding and protecting the lower races. For some people, this scripture has been interpreted to designate their life as one on the lowest rungs of society. Humans have been reduced to a slave class, and serve their elven masters under Xandra's rule, kept at bay by the constant fear of the dreaded Emerald Knight, and their own perceived weakness. Humans do not lead long lives, nor do they possess the wisdom, power, or magical acumen of their elven masters. But there is hope. A group of people have banded together to fight against Xandra, her Knight, and her empire. They call themselves the "Knights of Order" united under the principle idea that Xandra's reign has brought chaos unto Xren, and they wish to restore order. These Knights are led by a man named Xaxac Brigaddon, spoken of as a legend. They say that when the moons are full, some humans transform into powerful beasts. They say that Xaxac is the most powerful warrior on Xren, that in his youth he was enslaved and forced to fight other humans to the death in a bloodsport called "cage fighting", that he could not be touched and held the world championship title for three years running until he faked his own death and escaped his master to join the resistance. They say that he has friends in high places- noblemen, pirates, and the devil himself. They say that if you can find him, he can ferry you to freedom in places where the Earth Elves fear to tread. They say that he is immune to magical attack, and his eyes shine like the silver moon. They say that he is descended from Quizlivian Brigaddon, one of the humans who helped the demon Magnus escape a god. They say that if you want to walk the Path of Order, you should follow the White Rabbit.Come and watch the transformation from human boy to Knight of Order: The life and times of Xaxac OfAgalon OfLangil Brigaddon. Content Warning: This work is based on the real experiences of human trafficing survivors. Xaxac's origins are based on true events, and they are presented realisitcally; this includes but is not limited to: isolation, gaslighting, emotional and sexual abuse, and grooming tactics. This work is meant to hold a mirror up to society; it is based on the real of experiences of people who have experienced slavery and/or abuse. It is an adult work and probably should not be read by anyone under the age of 18. If you are a survivor of human trafficing and/or abuse, your feedback is welcome, but please do not read this if you think it may trigger your trauma. I did not write this with the intention of harming anyone, but rather to provide accurate representation for a group that does not normally get it in the hopes of changing the zeitgeist. I would like to see a world where more people understand what these experiences are like, so that real survivors do not have to deal with microagressions from an ignorant public. Reader discretion is advised. This book does not display these elements as heavily as book 1.
