On the surface, order was maintained in the sect. But hushed whispers circulated among the janitorial, outer, inner and even core disciples about a thunder attribute prodigy. Officially, the phenomenon was chalked up to a “formation hiccup”, but most of the disciples who were aware of the incident were gossiping about the thunder-attributed prodigy among the inner disciples. Some speculated it was awakening of the bloodline of the Thunderbird spirit beast, some argued that it was an awakening of the Indigo Lightning Innate Constitution. The entire day had passed and dusk had arrived while the “formation hiccup” was still not resolved.

Meanwhile, in Fang Hao's courtyard he was still in a trance cultivating. He had exhausted all the foundation establishment pills. Indigo, almost-purple thunder-bolts felt from the storm cloud fell from the sky and struck Fang Hao and his surrounding yard, charring the grass and turning the nearby spirit stones to ash. The energy released from the spirit stones didn't disperse however. The spare jug of fortified spirit wine had long since turned to ash, however the dense fog of Qi released from it was floating around the fatty. The combined fog of Qi formed a pulsing whirlpool around the rotating fatty, being absorbed by the rotating fatty.

In Fang Hao's Qi Lake, a pulsing semi submersed indigo crystal had taken shape. The pulsing semi-submerged indigo crystal was gradually changing colour turning a shade closer to violet. But half the crystal which was not submerged in the Qi lake had a blurry indistinct outline. Fang Hao was in a trance, but was getting slightly anxious as he felt that he was lacking a final push to establish his foundation.

The storm clouds above Fang Hao churned and a huge violet thunderbolt tinged with red struck Fang Hao. Fang Hao was almost jolted out of his trance as he felt a burning sensation from his bones. From every bone in his body, a bit of sludge like deep red liquid seeped out into his blood and was carried towards his dantian. As the sludge like deep red liquid was absorbed by his dantian, another transformation took place in his Qi Lake.

The Qi lake which was filled with clear light blue liquid turned crimson like blood. The semi-submerged pulsing crystal was a deep violet and rapidly started absorbing the crimson quality of the nearby Qi lake. Soon the Qi lake regained its clear pale blue colour, the storm clouds above his Qi lake dispersed and the blurry indistinct outline of the violet crystal became clear and more distinct. Small blood-red tubes appeared in the clear violet crystal forming a three-dimensional network in the previously translucent crystal. As the Crystal became more distinct, its shape resembled that of a cylindrical pillar, but the pulsing of the crystals and network of small blood-red tubes in it made the violet crystal pillar have an eerie resemblance to a crystalline-beating heart!

Fang Hao had successfully established his foundation and the mystical phenomena had dispersed. As the crystal pillar pulsed and rotated, a dense fog of Qi was released above his Qi lake. He willed the Qi to suffuse his body, and his body felt as light as air. The stream of cool energy from his upper dantian (center of brain) which was previously caged inside his body, finally broke free from his skin and hair. It suffused the nearby area. As his spiritual sense suffused the environment; Fang Hao felt that he was omniscient where his spiritual sense went and that no detail could escape him. With the gaseous Qi permeating his body and his spiritual sense scanning his surroundings, Fang Hao just willed himself to rise and he started hovering.

'I can fly! I can fly! Here comes your daddy, bitches.' thought Fang Hao as he started to build up speed and fly over the peak.

Before he could do so, the figure of the Great Elder Shi appeared from a nearby distortion and made a casual gesture. The naked hovering fatty was grounded. The fatty was jolted out of his celebratory mood and was somewhat irritated. But noticing the Great Elder in the distance, he did a subservient bow and greeted the Great Elder.

“This junior respectfully conveys his greetings to the Great Elder Shi.”

The Great Elder made a dismissive gesture and replied,

“Wear your robes and collect your belongings as soon as possible. We will be leaving.”

Fang Hao respectfully replied in an affirmative as he searched for his storage pouch. While the landscape, the scattered spirit stones, jade boxes and even the jugs of spirit wine were ash; luckily he had tossed his storage pouch farther and it was left unmolested by the descending thunderbolts. Fang Hao retrieved his storage pouch, withdrew a set of white inner disciple robes and donned them. The Great Elder Shi had a stoic facade, but inwards he was a bit stumped. When Fang Hao was done dressing, and had tucked his storage pouch near his waist, the Great Elder grabbed his collar, teleported them to another inner disciple cottage, not unlike his own.

“Just stay here and consolidate your cultivation base. Don't Leave the compound and don't fly around. I will be back in a while.” Great Elder Shi said and was about to initiate teleportation.

“Great Elder what will I do if I get hungry?” Fang Hao inquired respectfully.

The Great Elder looked at Fang Hao for a moment before tossed him a small crystalline jade bottle which Fang Hao caught and tucked into his storage pouch.

“That is a vial of nourishment pills. One of them should satiate even a glutton like you for a month or so. There are enough nourishment pills there to last you a few years.” stated Great Elder Shi before he teleported away.

'New Pills. New Pills! And a whole bottle of them! Around 40 of them, I think. Looks like Great Elder Shi is no longer pissed at me. On Second thoughts, my breakthrough created too much of a spectacle. Hope there isn't too much of a fallout from that.'

Thought Fang Hao as he retrieved one of the nourishment pills and ate it. The nourishment pill had a dull copper coloured and tasted like gelatin. As he swallawed it he finially felt satiated for the first time in a long time. His face which had acquired an anemic look after his breakthrough finally showed traces of a healthy flushed look. With a mental command, he summoned his status screen.
