《(Archived) The Badger Dungeon (Being Rewritten)》Update

So it turned out that “introducing the family” was a lot harder than I thought it was.
Neither of my kobolds had [Primal Communication], and the badger family didn’t have the same connection to me as they did, so I was stuck in the middle playing interpreter so the two groups could get to know one another.
“No, Basil, I’m not going to tell them that you think they look freaky. No! I don’t care that you’re weirded out by the fact they move around on two legs! That’s just rude!”
I was really starting to want to usher the badgers back into their part of the dungeon. They were fun to watch and talk to, but I absolutely was not having fun with all of the translations between the two groups. My kobolds, I had found, were overly polite towards the badgers in an attempt to get on their good sides. Meanwhile, the badgers were just very blunt and straightforward about everything, saying whatever they thought no matter what it was.
What it meant was that my kobolds kept trying harder and harder to please them, and the badger family just kept trying harder and harder to get a rise out of them.
“If you don’t tell them I’m just gonna go up on my hind legs and waddle around and hope they get the point.”
As much as I wanted to see that I really didn’t want to have to explain to my kobolds what he was trying to say, and so I grumbled out a “fine” along the lines of [Primal Communication] and turned my attention back to my kobolds. Every minute that passed by I considered them more and more precious. What had I ever done to deserve them?
“Basil says he’s a little bit weirded out by the fact you walk around on your hind legs.” I didn’t translate it directly this time, after all, it was a pretty rude thing to say and I didn’t want to potentially hurt anyone’s feelings more than they were already going to be.

The blue Astrum of memories
Some of you believe in fate and some of you don't. That's ok in our world. In the world that I created Fate has been acting strange and selfish for a long time. She was always fascinated with humans and the fact that they had soulmates because a lot of other races didn't. Ever since humans started traveling through space, that opened millions of new opportunities for Fate to make the human soulmates meet. However, because of her strange behaviour Fate made too many mistakes. After that, Fate made what she thought, was a good move. What she didn't count on was that the good move she made knew that you can cheat fate. One and his crew don't know how ironic it is that she chose them to make her good move. ------------------------------- I didn't use any movies, books or series for inspiration the story is my original work. This is just the result of my weird imagination and brain telling me what to write. I hope you liked it :) It’s just a story, like all of my other stores. It doesn’t have a deeper spiritual, moral or ethical meaning.

When freshly-graduated Dr. Selva Imroth accepted a short job from her former doktormutter, she had expected to interview a few PhD washouts and write a report to the Dean. Unfortunately for Selva, everything in her life has to be an ordeal. Updates every weekday, but not on the weekend. I hadn't planned on doing NaNoWriMo, but then on Halloween night I was sharing an old plot bunny with a new friend and realized, "oh shit I can actually use this." So, here we are. Thanks, friend. In true NaNoWriMo fashion, I will not be using my typical editing process here, and will instead simply vomit words onto your screen as quickly as possible, trying valiantly to avoid asking myself "oh my god who CARES" because tangents are important to wordcount.
