Chapter 26.3: Super Effective
The constant screams of panic had taken their toll on Scott as he traversed the town. It seemed that no matter where he went someone cried out for someone else to save their terrified ass. Sometimes he arrived too late, and bore witness to what happened when low-level monsters got ahold of even lower leveled humans with no real weapons. Even in America, not everyone had a firearm and knew how to use it.
Despite the fact that he was only a few miles from his house, Scott took all morning to reach the road he lived on.
Thankfully there were only a few buildings in this forgotten outskirt of town. Most were abandoned warehouses, some were abandoned houses that were currently crack houses, few had people living in them legitimately and even those people seemed to be uninterested in coming outside.
Either they were dead, or perhaps their natural paranoia for living near so many abandoned buildings had caused them to continue to stay indoors like they often did. Scott was happy to have no reason to deal with them.
The dragon slipped through the woods out back and made his way slowly to his home. His constant shape changing had worn him down a bit, but he would soon be able to rest for a while. Once he was across from his house he skittered through the woods in an attempt to determine whether or not the place was being watched. The likelihood was extremely small considering the current all-hands-on-deck situation that the police had going on.
“Screw it.” said the little dragon before he quickly waddled out of the forest and headed toward his house at all possible speed. He managed to enter his residence safely, but immediately felt overwhelming rage. The place still had the expected bullet holes and there were old blood stains on his furniture and carpet, even a few bits of gore here and there that had been left in place. He stared at those stains for several minutes then closed his eyes tightly for a short time.
He had expected that much and he had even expected the rest of what he had seen. His house had been ransacked and looted all to hell. His TV, computer, everything was gone. Scott opened his eyes, took a deep breath, and then toddled over to his game and movie collection. Once there he was forced to fight down his growing rage. His nostrils flares and his eyes narrowed to dangerous slits. “Those bastards even took my god damned porn...”
It was a point of pride with the man-dragon. He liked what he liked and did not hide the fact that he was the sort of guy who indulged in the perversity of tentacle related mayhem or girls who go wild. He also did not openly broadcast it. In short, he had porn. He did not hide it, but he would be damned if he would accept it when people stole it!

Why he focused on the loss of his porn was anyone’s guess. Perhaps it helped to take his mind off of the blood stains on the wall. Either way, there was really only one thing he needed here.
Scott waddled off to his room, growled angrily at the fact that his bed had been cut apart then looked through all of the clothes and bed linens tossed on the floor in a heap. His dresser had been smashed to pieces and he could almost swear that someone had taken a shit on the remains of his bed. He suspected that would be the handiwork of one of the friendly neighborhood crackheads, however. He wouldn’t even be surprised if those were the assholes who stole his porn! When they would have had time to get in here and out again, was anyone’s guess. For all Scott knew, the police had not even been watching this place.
His book, the one thing he had needed most from here other than closure, was found tossed in a corner. Several of the pages bent, but it was otherwise undamaged. Scott checked it for a moment and then sighed loudly. It was indeed intact. Those idiots had not taken it. Why would they? It was just a book, and few people probably even realized the reality of what was hidden in its pages at this point.
However, now Scott was at an impasse. He could no longer use the excuse that he was seeking out this book and the people in danger of monster attacks to keep him from accepting what he had to do next.
The dragon closed his eyes tightly then took a deep breath. A word he had not spoken aloud since his death came to his lips. It was a word spoken in a hoarse whisper. “Sonja...”
When Scott opened his eyes he was only able to see temporarily. A fast moving object had blotted out the only light in the room. He had then been unceremoniously pressed into a terrifically overpowering hug that threatened to suffocate him.
Scott tried to wiggle through the massive mountains of maidenly might that were choking the life out of him, but he stopped struggling when he heard the loud sobs and felt the shaking of the one who held him.
Neither of them spoke for quite some time. They both had too much to say to actually say anything.
When one of them did speak, it was Sonja. “We’re in your house, master?”
“Yes...” said Scott, his voice wafting up from the cradle of her bosom. He still uncertain of how to proceed, and this position was not helping. Though, he had no desire to ask her to release him at the moment. The fact that he had found her alive and well had thrilled him to know end, and he was not about to ruin that moment.
“We should go next door. The others will want to see you, and it is safer there.” said Sonja.

“The others are there!” Scott used all of the strength that he could muster to pull his head out of the pillowy prison of Sonja’s breasts. “They’re alive! They really are alive...”
Sonja nodded then tried to crush him with an even tighter hug. “We’ve been together most of the time... The only one missing was you.”
“Sorry, I’ve been learning about our enemy... and dealing with the crap happening today. You’re right, though. We definitely need to get everyone together.” said Scott. He was not sure how to express what he truly felt, but knowing that Shara and Ashton were alright as well had made him feel as though a heavy weight had lifted from him.
“Yes...” said Sonja, though she made no effort to move.
“Sonja... You’ll have to put me down so we can go.” said Scott.
She shook her head slowly then hugged him a little tighter. That was not going to happen.
Scott, normally willing to let her have her snuggle time, could not let them risk discovery. “I’m sorry...” he said, before he shifted into his shadow form.
Sonja’s arms slipped through his misty mass and she sighed deeply. “That is just not fair.”
“You can hug me in a few minutes. Alright?” asked Scott.
“Yes... It’s a promise then?” asked the blond powerhouse.
“Absolutely, but I need to tell you girls what is going on and let the others know that I’m safe.” said Scott.
“Right... That is a good point.” said Sonja softly before she nodded her head.
Scott the Dark Cloud of Terror and Sonja the Valkyrie of Ever-Cuddles left the ransacked remains of stately Blackthorne Manor. The valiant duo journeyed forth across the land perilous to the Suburban Fortress of Shara the Harem Builder.
The misty man-dragon felt a strong sense of pressure against him the moment he floated across the threshold of Shara’s property. “Wow, what did she do to this place?”
“She said that she upgraded it a bit. Only people she authorizes can enter most of the time.” said Sonja.
Scott let out a low whistling sound that reverberated a bit due to his current state of being. “That must have set her back a couple of bucks.”
“I don’t think she traded deer or rabbits...” said Sonja.
“Figure of Speech, Sonja... I meant that it must have cost her a lot.” said Scott.
“Ah.” said the blond powerhouse. That did make a certain sort of sense.
Sonja boldly attempted to open Shara’s door without so much as a knock. However, it proved to be locked. She rattled the handle for a moment then proceeded to knock loudly.
No answer came after a few moments, so Scott made a suggestion. “Try pressing the doorbell.”
“Doorbell?” asked Sonja.
After a brief explanation and a bit of confusion on the part of the newcomer to Earth, Sonja did manage to press the doorbell. If Scott had eyes he would have blinked in surprise. The doorbell tone sounded like nineties era videogame music.
“Interesting tune.” said Sonja.
“I think so.” said Scott.
Shara still had not come to open the door, so Scott made another suggestion. He decided to slip through the door on his own and change to his human form to unlock it from the inside.
Scott did so and then realized that he was completely naked. Either the constant changing had made him weak and unable to change his clothes, or he had been naked in human form all along. He could not remember when he had been human last, so it was hard to be certain. Hopefully when he changed to dragon form he would have his book with him.
After becoming a thoroughly naked man, Scott unlocked the door and opened it for Sonja.
The blond woman took in the sight of her master in the nude and a slight touch of color came to her cheeks. “We should get you an apron.” said Sonja, before she walked in and locked the door behind her.
It was then that Shara decided to come up stairs. She was wearing cute little footie pajamas with stylized silhouettes of ninjas printed on them, and had a tooth brush in her mouth. When she saw Scott standing there butt naked the tooth brush fell out of her mouth, but a split-second later her eyes lit up with great joy. She raced forward and launched herself toward him through the air.
Scott did not even try to avoid the incoming red-haired missile. Shara wrapped her body around him tightly then began to kiss him repeatedly on the face. With each kiss she cried out something to the effect of, “Stupid.” or “Moron.” She ended with a series of kisses while she fully enunciated, “Don’t. Do it. Again!”
Sonja, unable to resist her desires, leaned forward and hugged him from behind by wrapping her arms around Shara as well. Scott started to protest, but Sonja would have none of that. He had promised after all.
Ashton peeked out of one of the side rooms, a look of absolute relief on her face. It was good to see that Scott was alright, though she did not think it would be right to slobber all over him like that. At least she did not think so until she started to smell that delightful scent of his. The absence of it in her life in the last twenty-four hours or so had gone unnoticed, but now that he was here it was quite potent. Ashton’s cheeks reddened and she bit her lower lip.Fight it girl!
For Ashton, the struggle was real.
