《Different World along with One Piece System》Chapter 6 - I'm Going to be King of the Pirates

“Excuse me, do you know where I can find magical beast?” Yan D. Yu asked a random man who was sweeping the entrance to his store.
Pointing in a direction, he gave his reply, “Yes, west of here there have been a few running wild. You can try your luck there, although I have to tell you that you don’t look like the type to hunt magical beast.”
“Appearances aren’t everything, but thanks for the information.” He told him as he waved his hand and headed west.
Yan D. Yu kind of wished that he kept a few of those cores, then he could have sold it for money. A lose is a lose, but he can fix it.
The ones who usually hunt magical beast are cultivators, and only the ones who know their strength would challenge one. Although Yan D. Yu isn’t a cultivator but living on that island infested with those beast, it shouldn’t matter much.
Yan Yu lived in Shing City, but he just found out that Shing City is another town over. He would pay a visit to his family, but he can’t do anything without money.
Sleeping outside is an option, but he has already done that for three years straight, he is ready to get into a nice bed. He could also go for a nice bath. When he was on that island, he could only stand at the edge of it to get water for washing or drinking.
Truth be told, he was afraid of water. Whether the water had the same effects in the One Piece world was something that needed to be found out. However Yan D. Yu was alone on that island, there was no way he was going to test it out. If it really did have the same effect, he would have died a long time ago.
Now that he is in a civilized place, he could not accept being one of those people living on the streets.
Even if he were to live on the streets, he still needed to eat! That island was filled with magical beast so he could kill them and eat their meat. Now is a different story.
So far, he still hasn’t encountered any cultivators. They aren’t rare so they should still be around town. It wasn’t that he was looking for trouble, but rather he wanted to see how he would fare against them.
Once he was out of the town’s gate, he turned his arms into purple fiery wings. Not once has he tried flying, but there is a first time for everything. Even Marco had to try it at some point, he wasn’t born knowing how to fly.
Putting strength into his legs, he pushed off the ground jumping into the arm. His arms started a flapping motion, as he went higher.
“This is too easy!”
If he flapped in a downward motion, he went higher. Flapping backward propelled him forward, and flapping in the front made him go back. It wasn’t hard at all.
One flap of his wings could propel him a few meters. This was faster than running, and Yan D. Yu still hasn’t tried to fly his fastest.
It wasn’t as draining as he originally thought it would be, he felt his energy slowly going down. However the rate that it was going wasn’t fast at all. He figured he could probably fly for twenty or thirty minutes before he hit the ground.

As he continued going west, he spotted a small valley filled with weird looking hogs. They had black tusk, and green fur.
The difference between Marco and Ace was that Ace stayed on the ground and fought. Marco could as well, but he excelled in aerial combat.
If he had time, he would start trying out some of Marco’s moves that he’s seen.
Yan D. Yu nose dived down towards the Hog. It didn’t sense him at all as it continued walking forward.
Who knew how fast Yan D. Yu was moving, he flew by everything that only a glimpse of it could be seen.
Only three feet away from the Hog was when it finally detected him. It was too late, as Yan D. Yu did a falling back heel kick. His foot was on fire as three purple claws could be seen.
Under the pressure from Yan D. Yu’s falling back heel kick the hog’s body couldn’t take it. It’s legs gave out as a bone crushing sound came out of it’s body.
It’s body hit the ground so hard, that it bounced. Yan D. Yu probably overdid it. He just wanted to try out a move he’s seen Marco use plenty of times before, and who knew that the effect could be so devastating!
Marco’s flames itself doesn’t do much damage considering it’s more of a healing type of flame. However combined with Ace’s flame, it’s flame power was boosted!
Landing on the ground softly, he took out his Wado Ichimonji and sliced the hog’s body up. Grabbing the green core, he also took two slices of meat.
“This should do!” He said as he stuffed the core in his pocket.
“Shit, how am I supposed to fly back with this?”
There was no way he could fly back with this meat in his hand. It would end up roasted, which is something he didn’t want. He needed to have the taste of it being seasoned. Yan D. Yu hasn’t had meat seasoned in a long time, thus he wants to see how it would taste.
Thinking about it, he felt stupid. He could just use his claws to hold onto the meat, there was no need for his hands to hold on to it.
Throwing the two slabs of meat into the air, he jumped. Transforming his arms and feet, he grabbed the meat and took off towards town.
….
Arriving at the town’s entrance, Yan D. Yu used his feet to throw the meat up a little higher, while his fiery wings went away. Once he landed, he made sure to catch the falling meat.
With two slabs of meat in hand and a core in his pocket, he was all set. He still needed to sell the core for money, but he figured it shouldn’t be that hard. There was bound to be a shop that would take it.
As he walked towards the gate, the guard didn’t bother saying anything to him. He was already surprised when he noticed Yan D. Yu’s arms catch on fire and fly away earlier. He had never seen a cultivator being able to do what he did, but there was a first time for everything.
As Yan D. Yu walked into town, the guard didn’t do anything. Usually he would ask for others ID to get into town, but since Yan D. Yu was a cultivator he figured it was best not to talk to him. One wrong word and he could be beheaded! His job might suck, but he cares for his life.

Yan D. Yu turned his head side to side looking for some type of shop to sell his core.
After he entered the town, the people noticed him carrying two big slabs of meat. A few came up to him asking if he wanted to sell it, but he told them no. It was his meat, he would not sell it.
Instead, he would have someone cook it for him.
Maybe if the person is cool enough, Yan D. Yu will allow him to join his pirate crew. What pirate crew doesn’t have their own cook? It doesn’t have to be the best meals, but they should be able to make something scrumptious.
‘Merchant guild? That should do.’ Yan D. Yu thought to himself as he spotted a black bricked building. He strolled over with his meat and entered.
A sweet fragrant entered his nose upon entry. It surely wasn’t the smell of a woman, because behind the counter was an elderly man.
“Old man, you want to buy a magical beast core?”
The elderly man blinked twice at Yan D. Yu wondering how this kid could possible have a magical beast core. He didn’t feel any type of Qi inside his body.
He may be old by other people's standards, but he knew that he could live at least another hundred years.
Although he didn’t look like a cultivator himself, if one could tell his rank, they would give him the respect he deserved. In a town like this, he could be revered as a god. Even in one of the main cities, his cultivation couldn’t be considered low. The only reason he was here was because he was doing an old friend a favor.
Not one person dared to call him Old man like Yan D. Yu did. It urked his nerves, but he had to be slightly respectful to the customers. He shouldn’t tarnish his good friends name over one stinky brat.
“What do you have?” He asked Yan D. Yu.
Walking up to the counter, Yan D. Yu held both slabs of meat in one hand and with his free one grabbed the core that was in his pocket. Upon showing it to the old man, he only gave a slight reaction.
“Not bad, a 3rd ranked bronze level magical beast core. How’d you kill it?” The old man pointed towards Yan D. Yu’s sword, “Couldn’t be with that, could it?”
“Nah, my swords too good to be used against something of that level. Only took one blow from my heel to kill it. Not bad right gramps?” Yan D. Yu said as he smiled.
The elderly man raised his eyebrow, wondering how Yan D. Yu could possibly kill a magical beast with his bare hands. If he were a cultivator, the old man would believe him, but it surely is impossible for a mortal to kill a magical beast.
“Show me how you killed it, and i’ll throw in something extra.”
Thinking about it, Yan D. Yu decided he could show this old man his flames. Setting the core on the counter, he opened the palm of his hand and a purple flame appeared. “With flames of course.”
‘Impossible!’ The old man couldn’t believe his eyes. Maybe he truly was getting old, there is no way that a mortal can use flames. The strangest thing about it was that he didn’t feel flow of Qi either when that flame was summoned.
When a cultivator uses a martial skill, naturally they have to rely on Qi to use it. There will always be a slight disturbance in the air when one uses their martial skill, however Yan D. Yu didn’t have any disturbance.
‘A mortal who can use flames? Genius, simply genius! I must make him my disciple, even if he refuses, he should still want to join a top ranked sect!’ The old man thought to himself.
As Yan D. Yu dispersed the flames in his hand, he noticed the old man had a grin on his face.
“Something wrong? Don’t die on me, at least not until I get my money.” Yan D. Yu told him.
“Become my disciple!”
“No thanks, not interested.” Yan D. Yu rejected his offer without batting an eye.
“Fine, how would you like the join the Heavenly Monarch sect? Hehe, you don’t need me to tell you how great of a sect it is right?” The old man quickly gave him another option.
“Nah, can I just get my money?”
“Why? Not everyone has a chance to join our sect. It’s one of the four imperial dragons for a reason! Think about it again, i’m sure you’ll change your mind.”
Yan D. Yu rolled his eyes and sighed. He had no interest in joining a sect, that would mean he would be restricted. He was a free soul that would wander the world and make a big name for himself.
“I don’t want to be tied down, now can I get my money?”
“Stinky brat, how dare you turn down my offer? Who are you parents, didn’t they teach you any manners?”
He was upset, Yan D. Yu rejected his offer three times. Three times!
Doesn’t he know about giving face to your elders? What sort of parents did he have growing up?
Yan D. Yu didn’t reply to the old man, but instead held out his hand waiting for his money to appear.
Seeing how Yan D. Yu was ignoring him, the old man grunted as he gave him one silver coin.
Yan D. Yu looked at the coin then back at the old man. This is outrageous, he is being cheated! From Yan Yu’s memories, he knows for a fact that a magical beast core is worth thousands of gold coins, not a measly silver coin!
“What is this?”
“What?”
Yan D. Yu looked at the coin in his hand. “This! You are flat out cheating me!”
“Brat, don’t you know that you have a silver coin? That alone is worth ten thousand gold coins.”
Stuffing the silver coin in his pocket, Yan D. Yu understood. “Ah, ok. Cya later gramps.”
Feeling that this chance may never come again, the old man felt inclined to ask him once again. “Last chance, come join our sect.”
Yan D. Yu’s hand was reaching for the door as his head looked over his shoulder. “Sorry gramps, but I have another goal in mind. I’m going to be King of the Pirates!” He told him before walking out of the door.
