《Awakening of a Monster》Chapter 20 - The First Clash

Amon's red eyes blazed as he looked at the orange-haired youth. "What's it matter to you, huh? She's my mom, you dense prick..." saying this, Amon went to turn back around to his mom. He didn't want to start a fight that would ruin the happiness he felt at the minute.
But, as he expected he felt something fly at him.
Amon leaned to the side and looked at what had been thrown at him. Nothing had been thrown in fact, instead, it was the orange-haired youth thrusting at him with a sword. "You think you're allowed to talk to me like that, you savage? Hmph!" was all he said when he was close to Amon.
All he got in reply was a wheel kick aimed at his neck.
The kick came at him with blistering speed and a tyrannical momentum that seemed like it couldn't be stopped.
Luckily, or unluckily depending on which side you were on, he seemed to have 2 swords and put them in front of him to block the attack. With a massive boom and a force that cracked the ground around them, the orange-haired guy spat out a bit of blood from the injuries he just suffered as he was pushed into the ground slightly.
"Going up against me in a contest of strength? Ha! You should've tried to dodge, it'd have been much easier for you." The mirth in Amon's voice made it seem like he was playing a game, not having a fight.
Amon put some more force into his leg and kicked the guy backward. Amon started circulating his Magic Power and felt his body getting stronger as he walked toward the orange-haired guy.
He'd found out that circulating magic power in the way he usually cultivated seemed to temporarily augment his power in battle and while he couldn't do it forever, he could do it enough to beat the shit out of this guy. A terrifying aura soon spread with Amon at the center, black and red mist revolving around him.
"Come on, give me a real fight, will ya?" Amon's voice was getting slightly manic at the thought of battle and his turbulent emotions from earlier were clouding his judgment slightly.
The man opposite Amon paled in fear as he saw Amon walking towards his, covered in a mist like something out of a horror story. He'd felt the power this monster had when he came into contact with what looked like a casual kick from it and now that it was getting serious, he knew he was in trouble.
"Amon, calm down, it's not much of a big deal is it?" a calm but loving voice sounded out causing Amon to freeze in place. His mom walked up to him and with her slightly unusual height for a woman at 6'2", placed her hand on his face. The mist disappeared nearly instantly, receding back into Amon's body. His manic smile disappeared replaced by an apologetic one.

"I...I'm sorry, mom, I just got a bit angry over what he said is all. Thanks for pulling me back." Amon's voice sounded nothing how it did before. Everyone watching couldn't help but compare him to the manic giant from before and feel flabbergasted.
His voice was gentle and affectionate and his eyes were full of relief. Lilith looked at Beth with sparkling eyes like she'd found her very own idol, while the orange-haired man looked thankfully at Beth only to receive a glare with a coldness that made hell look like paradise.
Beth looked at her son with a kind of boundless love all mothers have for their child and nodded as if accepting his apology. "It's okay, sweetie, just try to keep your anger in check, okay?" her voice was filled with an expectation which Amon didn't want to disappoint so he nodded with a smile on his face.
Michael and the others who'd been living with him for a few days looked at him and guessed that even if he was some kind of Demon Overlord, he loved his mother just like everyone else loves theirs. The same went for everyone else looking, but the classers also made a mental note to never hurt his mother whether it be in training or on accident.
The last thing they wanted was to enrage a monster like that.
Beth, Jax, Molly, and Lilith walked off with Michael, Julia, Fae and her friend in tow, toward the cabins so they could change and then go in the lake for a bit. The other classers soon followed, leaving Amon and the orange-haired man behind.
The man looked at Amon and walked up to him nervously. As he was about to say something, Amon interrupted him. "I don't care if you're sorry. Just know that if it wasn't because of my mom and my friends being here--" Amon's Cheshire cat smile filled with manic intent from before came back as he leaned over the man "--I would've ripped you apart and crushed you like the bug you are."
The man was stunned as he looked up at Amon, fully realizing the size difference now. The man was only 184cm tall or 6ft and when he was in front of Amon's massive 225cm or 7'3" stature he looked a bit like a preteen in front of an adult.
Seeing the fear on the man's face, Amon chuckled and walked past the man toward the cabin with Sasha in it.
Entering he saw Michael in some white swimming trunks, showing off his slender, but a muscular upper body.
"...Why do you only ever wear white, Michael?" Amon seemed to realize that he'd never seen Michael wear anything other than white shirts and jeans. Even his sweatpants were white. Hearing Amon's question, Michael laughed.

"Ah, it's my Angel Instincts. Wearing anything with color makes me feel dirty for some reason and whenever I wear white I feel pure. Not that disadvantageous, just annoying." Michael smiled as he explained before a curious expression appeared on his face.
"What kind of swimming shorts did you bring, Amon?" he obviously wanted to see if Amon suffered from the same thing as him, seeing as he was technically his counterpart as a Demon. Amon rolled his eyes and motioned for him to follow him.
When they got to the suitcases they'd backed the day before, he opened up the suitcase and showed Michael the clothes he brought.
"Woah, there's so much red and black. Looks like you do have the same problem as me." Michael triumphantly looked at Amon before slapping him on the back, knowing he'd found a comrade in his struggles.
Amon wryly shook his head.
'It's not that big of a deal, is it? I've never really thought about it before.'
Shrugging his shoulders, Amon took his swimming shorts and went to a changing room and put them on after taking all his clothes off. Looking in the mirror, he saw himself in dark red shorts and gave a nod in satisfaction; red clothing is perfect.
Walking out of the changing room and then the cabin, Amon saw his friends from both the SS training group and his Childhood friends talking, along with his mom joining in.
Michael and Jax seemed to be getting along fine as they were the same sort of guys; playboys. And Molly and Beth were introduced to Fae and Julia through Lilith and were chatting happily. Fae seemed to have introduced her friend from the classers as well but she seemed quite cold and quiet, so she only occasionally spoke when Fae forced a question on her to get her involved.
When the group saw Amon come out of the cabin, they smiled and waved for him to quickly come over.
Fae's friend had all her attention on Amon's body as he walked over, and she wasn't the only girl who looked so intently either, but he didn't feel embarrassed, in fact, he felt pride. He knew his body would get 100/100 points in many girls hearts for its perfect look, so his arrogant nature made him feel it was only natural to be admired.
Fae caught her friend staring at Amon and nudged her forward a little, so she could introduce her. "Amon, this is my friend Mia, please look after her~" Fae's voice was incredibly playful which earned her a glare from Lilith, who walked up to Amon and stood in front of Mia to get his attention, much to both Fae and Mia's chagrin.
"How do you think I look, Amon? Good?" Lilith looked at Amon with expectant eyes, so Amon checked out her bikini.
Her bikini was white, with the upper part being quite plain but showing her surprising big and full breasts were what it did best as the white color contrasted well with her caramel brown skin. The lower part had a short frilly skirt on it, which seemed to increase the charm of her pert and perky butt, despite it hiding most of it.
'Wow, Lilith really is beautiful, huh?'
All in all, Amon felt he'd like anything she wore, so he nodded his head and gave her an answer. "I think you look really beautiful in it." he finished it off with a smile which caused Lilith to furiously blush. Everything was fine until Mia stepped to the side of Lilith, competitiveness clear in her eyes.
"What about me? Do I look good?" Mia's cold voice had a hint of expectation in it which shocked Amon a bit; he thought a girl like her who seemed cold wouldn't care about this sort of thing. But something in Amon, made him oblige to her request.
Amon looked at the swimsuit she was wearing. It looked kinda like the swimsuit Japanese highschoolers use for swimming class, but it was red instead of a dark blue. Also, there was v-neck that went all the way down to just above her belly button, showing off her considerable bust.
The one-piece suit didn't cover her hips either, showing off her smooth and soft white skin and while also showing her nicely sized and well-shaped butt.
Amon couldn't help but think that a revealing swimsuit like this really is good looking on such a beautiful girl like Mia. "Yeah, you look good, it fits you perfectly." he tried amicably smiling at her to get his sincerity across and it seemed to work as she started smiling.
She looked triumphantly at Lilith who was now pouting. Amon's mom saw what this could lead to and finally stepped in.
"Now now girls, it's not a competition. Let's just go to the lake and have some fun, okay?" Beth's mature and smooth voice seemed to smooth away any bumps that could possibly happen and both Mia and Lilith nodded in agreement to Beth's idea.
Amon let out a breath of relief, he knew something was about to happen then and he was thankful his mom stepped in to stop it.
All of them started walking towards the lake with smiles on their faces.

There for the first time, he will make true friends and find people he will come to see as family. He will encounter strong enemies, build powerful alliances, and become a person his ancestors would be proud of. But surrounded by creatures he thought only existed in tales and pressed by the Empire’s constant expansion, Jayce’s safety may be only an illusion. To survive a world fraught with danger Jayce will need to grow stronger with each new experience and rebuild his once forgotten house. ********************************************************************** Note: The story starts slow. Although there is more action as the story progresses, there is a fair amount of introspection and character introduction in the first 30 chapters. Jayce is the main character, however, other characters play a large role and the story is seen through multiple POV's. This is a draft, it is not a finished work. This is not a story that focuses on an OP MC who beats up on weaklings. At times there can be a fair amount of internal monologue. Some of that may be edited out when I rewrite the story. I decided to keep it in the draft because I think it is better to have too much material rather than too little when I edit. Constructive criticism is appreciated as it helps in the editing and rewriting process. Check out my other story Shattered Mind here
