For months everything was fine until …

"Jake, honey, come look! What's happening?"

Jake saw Mary's finger cut open—by a food processor blade—metallic and sparking.

"Jake, who am I? What am I? Am I dead? What have you done to me?" she sobbed.

Jake hugged her, lifted the back of her right ear, then pushed 'the button.'

Mary quietly—reflexively—repaired her own finger with a kit.

She smiled, then kissed him—"I love you, Jake."
