《(Old) Legion, God of Monsters》Prologue 2 - Awareness

The small girl looked at the scene around her in confusion. Directly in front of her sat a pristine, pale corpse drained of blood, laying in the center of a glowing red pentagram. The dead man had a bandana on his head which covered his hair, two axes tied on either side of his waist and a grizzly beard. Her eyes were drawn to the two punctures on his neck and, as she watched, a single drop of blood oozed out of the wound and began to trickle down the man’s neck. She tasted blood in her mouth as she slowly ran her tongue over her teeth. It was delicious! She paused as she felt two particularly sharp teeth spaced about the same distance apart as the two punctures on the man’s neck.
A breeze ruffled the girls long, black hair. She knew that the breeze was supposed to be cold but she didn’t understand what that meant. She continued her search and found that directly behind her and on her right side were four more bodies. These ones looked a little different from the one in the circle.
First, their bodies were not in pristine condition. They looked like they had been attacked by some kind of feral beast. A man wearing heavy-looking metal armor was missing his left arm and had a huge hole in his chest which was still oozing blood. A young girl with blood-stained white robes lay on the ground next to him, a look of pure terror frozen on her face. Her neck was twisted at a very odd angle. The other two were facedown on the ground several feet away and their bodies were facing the opposite direction. One of them had a big metal disc with an arm attached sticking out of his back and the other guy’s head was on the ground several feet further down the road. The headless guy had a bow in his hands and the guy with a disc in his back wore leather armor and had a dagger resting under the palm of his right hand.

Second, while this fact was rapidly changing for some of them, for the most part, they all still had their blood… a detail that was both somehow regrettable and welcome at the same time to the girl as she licked her lips and caught the lingering taste of blood once more. She shivered in anticipation.
The girl was standing atop the tallest hill in the area. She could see miles of rolling hills in every direction and to the north-east, she could see walls with small lights walking back and forth atop them. She looked up into the night sky and saw three circles dominating the horizon. The leftmost circle was blood red, the rightmost a clear and almost translucent blue while the center was pitch black and only noticeable because it blocked out the stars. Three full moons. She felt enchanted by their eerie glow and a strange yearning to move closer to them filled her body and soul.
She took a step forward and stopped as she felt the air around her begin to hum. She glanced around and saw that the glowing pentagram was becoming brighter. Light began to rise up from the center, tearing apart and consuming the bloodless man’s body and, after a brief pause, she felt the hill begin to shake slightly. All three moons glowed more intensely and a breeze ruffled her hair again. She caught a loose strand and saw that her dark hair had begun to glow as well. She watched as the black slowly gave way to a silvery platinum. She could only look on in amazement and bewilderment as the lights from the pentagram and the three moons filled her body.

The Legion of Nothing
Nick Klein is your average high school geek--if you can still count as average when your grandfather is a retired superhero, and you've been trained in the martial arts by his friend, a mysterious, immortal mercenary. After his grandfather dies, Nick inherits the last version of the Rocket suit, powered armor that allows him to shrug off bullets, smash through walls, and manipulate sound. Along with it comes the base of his grandfather's superhero team including the team's jet and trophies from forty years of fighting criminals and aliens. Together, Nick and his friends, descendants of his grandfather's teammates, attempt to bring back a superhero team that was originally formed during World War 2. Along the way they'll face the normal problems of high school (bullies, homework, and dating), and the less normal problems like supervillians and mysteries leftover from their grandparents' past. As a story, it uses the conventions of all eras of comics from the 1940s on, ranging from serious to silly. If you're hoping for a grim and gritty story, this isn't it. The Legion of Nothing first debuted on my website legionofnothing.com in 2007. In that period it's updated more than 900 times, is still running, and has had millions of pageviews. The first two years have been released as an ebook, receiving good reviews on Amazon and Goodreads. I hope you'll enjoy it, and that you'll review it and comment. You can also vote for it on Top Web Fiction and rate it on Web Fiction Guide. Member of The Order of Phantasmal Architects.

From Ninja to Pirate
Life can be difficult, hard and painful. Who am I kidding? Most of you probably have already experienced first-hand, all the difficulties, hardships and pains in life that I talk of, so rather than listen to me teach the lessons on how you should stay strong and look forward to the good things, I think you'd much rather prefer me to just get on with my story, and that's exactly what I'll do.My name was Uzumaki Naruto. I was a genin of the hidden village of the leaves, and the team-mate of Uchiha Sasuke and Haruno Sakura. My parents were the Fourth Hokage and the Jinchuuriki of the nine-tailed fox before me, and I was what people called, a failure. But now, the story has reversed. No more failure. No more Naruto. No more ninja.I am Akagami D. Natsuki, a girl who challenges the world, in the era of pirates! All credits go to Oda Eiichiro and Kishimoto Masashi for writing One Piece and Naruto. This is a fanfiction I wrote for my own pleasure. Please don't judge it too harshly... I have checked for spelling and grammar mistakes, but just in case there is the occasional mistake, please comment on it, rather than insult me. From personal experience, I have seen people insulting my grammar, with a comment akin to:"Cant u even spell 'mom' correctly? It's 'mom' not 'mum' you idiot!!!" So, please, don't insult me like that... It really ruins my day, which might have already been awful... Also, I apologise if they get really overpowered, or sound really arrogant... I don't mean it that way, but that's how it is read, so I'm sorry before hand. Well done for making it this far, and thank you for reading. noelicoan.

As much as I would love to put trigger warnings at the beginning of each chapter, I will probably forget to so this is your warning now that there will be not too nice topics discussed. If there is anything that I miss, please let me know. Constructive criticism is welcome This is a story that will start off with rough topics and slowly get more fluffy (I am hoping as I haven't finished it as of now.)
