《I Come From The Water》30: Back Home

(Gran POV)
I kneeled down In front of my King. The journey to Zell was long. It is regretful that I couldn't bring Amice and Lave with me. However informing my King of the armies making their way here is far more important. I only hope that they are ok. However that is really doubtful from what I saw.
“Gram you are back.” My king said softly while waving his hand for me to rise. “How did your trip go this time. If I remember it was to the north.”
“Yes I found a country called Sol. It is a small country dominated by one religion known as Imperium.” I shifted slightly rubbing the scabbed wound on my wrist hidden by my cloths. “It is a religion worshipping one god as the supreme ruler of the world. They are highly militaristic and have a very strict rule on its people.”
“Ho, interesting. And why are you telling me this in a formal audience and not in private like usual?” My King's eyes flashed with interest.
Stealing myself I looked my King in the eyes. “Sol has declared war on Zell. Their armies are coming here to take what they believe is rightfully theirs.” My King sat back in his throne thinking about what I have said.
“... And they know where Zell is?” He asked while pondering.
“Yes, they are preparing their armies as we speak. They are much more advanced then any of the other places I have seen and much more aggressive.”
My King narrowed his eyes and looked me over. “How are you Gram? Surreally coming from such a place as left you with some injuries.”
“Fortunately not your Majesty. I managed to get away completely unscathed.” I smiled.
My King hummed lightly. “Lucius take Gram to the doctor. I will hear the rest after he has received treatment for his injuries.”
“Yes Sire.” Came a calm reply from the side.
Cold sweat started running down my back. “Really your Majesty you worry to much. I am perfectly fine. We can continue here.”

“If so then you wouldn't mind a check up anyway.” Lucius slowly walked towards me. This is not good.
Cracking a smile and bowing slightly I spoke. “This is very troubling. I have to give information to the strategists and navy after this so I do not have time for a check up. However I am thankful for your concern.”
“If you are avoiding it so much something must be wrong.” My King looked over at Lucius. “Make sure you don't go easy on him. He seems to be injured.”
“Yes.” Lucius pulled out rope from no where.
I chuckled nervously while backing away. “Now I see no reason for this. I mean its not like I will run away.”
“Then why are you backing away Gram?” Asked Lucius seriously. “Its just a little rope. It won't hurt.”
“Lucius why are you talking like that?” I glanced around for any escape routs but all of them were covered by guards.
“You came back after disappearing for a year with injuries and declaring a country is going to war with us. I am surprised that Lucius waited for me to ask him instead of just dragging you off.” My King laughed while watching.
“Surly you jest Sire. I would never do anything against your orders.” Replied Lucius giving my King a sharp look.
“Achem, yes well I leave Gram to you. I will visit later Gram. Make sure you don't try to run.” My King looked away nervously as Lucius tied a rope around my waist and dragged me off.
“Hey Lucius you don't have to tie me up. I won't run away.” Lucius looked down at me sharply completely ignoring my argument. “... Right.” We walked quietly through the halls heading to the medical wing. The rope rubbed against my wounds roughly making me flinch. Thankfully he didn't notice.
We walked into Doctor Felan's room causing her to jump. “For Goddesses sake Lucius. You scared me half to death. At least knock when you come in.”

“Doctor Felan will you look at Gram's injuries?” He said completely unfazed by her complaint.
“Yes, yes. I'll do that. Now Gram when did you come back its been a year since I last saw you.” She sighed. “Really you should come back more often the King and Lucius worry about you. Traveling around by yourself as you do.”
I laughed while untying the rope. “You know that I love to travel, and its much easier to travel alone.”
“You have been saying that for years. What would you do if something happens. You do know that it worries me as your Mother to watch you go out into the ocean all by yourself not knowing what has happened to you. Honestly its surprising that you haven't been seriously injured yet.”
“Well its what I have always wanted to do. Anyways can I have my check up in private? I would rather not have Lucius watching my every move.” I asked Mom hoping she would understand.
“Yes I don't see why not. Lucius why don't you wait outside. I know you've been friends forever but somethings are only for families to see.” She said with a wink. He nodded and walked out shutting the door.
“What is wrong with you? Why would you say that?” I asked in disbelief.
“What? Is there something wrong with what I said?” She questioned while placing a hand on her hip. “As your Mother I am aloud to know everything about you. Now you will show me what is so wrong with you that you couldn't even hide it like you normally do.”
With a sigh I took off my shirt reveling scars, scabbed and fresh healing wounds. Some where even bleeding in the place where the rope had rubbed against it. Mom coldly looked at the injuries assessing the damage.
“What the hell have you done?” She asked darkly while quickly pulling out ointments, needles, thread, and bandages. “These wounds are from torture and not anything light. How are you even walking? Sit on the chair now.”
I quietly sat down not wanting to anger her even more. She clicked her tongue when she saw my wrists. “Take off your pants as well I'm sure that their are more injures on your legs.” I silently complied to the order. “For fucks sake Gram. What is wrong with you. You should have had this treated as soon as you got here.”
“It was unavoidable. I needed to see the King first.” I calmly replied.
She just narrowed her eyes at me. “I guess I should be happy you aren't dead then? Now you can't bluff me. I am a Doctor. These wounds show months of torture. Tell me. When you didn't send a letter for the last year where were you?”
“Its nothing to worry about Mom. It looks a lot worse than it really is. I should be back to normal in no time.” I answered with a smile. We both knew I was bluffing.
“I will treat your injuries however I can't use numbing agent on all of these.” She glared at me sharply. “It is not that I don't want to, but I don't have enough and some of these are to serious for me to use it. As such Lucius will hold you down.”
“What?” I asked dumbfounded. “M-Mom I don't need to be held down. I'm sure I can hold still for you. Please don't have Lucius come in here.” She grunted.
“You brought this upon yourself. Lucius come in here and hold my stupid son down while I treat him.” She called to the door. She turned back to me a cold look in her eye. “You will tell me who did this to you and they will wish that they never even dared to lay their grubby little hands on my son.” Cold sweat ran down my back in rivers as I watched my Mother.
